Chapter 654: I Can Save Ying'Er
Chapter 654: Chapter 626: I Can Save Ying’Er
BOOM!
A roar went through their minds. The last barrier between them crumbled. The emotions suppressed in their hearts for three years erupted completely. There were no more obstacles, no more restraints. No words were needed. Everything fell into place as naturally as a river finding its course. Within moments, alluring moans and an amorous air filled the entire room.
This day was destined to be a joyous and unforgettable one…
By evening, Mu Chen couldn’t help but chuckle as he looked at Wan Xian’Er, who was nestled against his chest with her eyes closed. Wan Xian’Er’s eyes slowly fluttered open. Catalyzed by their lovemaking, her stunningly beautiful face was now even more radiant. It was as if every glance and every shift of her brow exuded an endless charm.
She shifted lazily, adjusting her cheek into the crook of Mu Chen’s arm before asking, “What are you laughing at?”
Mu Chen shook his head. “Nothing. I just feel like I’ve had a very, very long dream.”
Wan Xian’Er smiled. “Was it a happy dream?”
Mu Chen replied, “Yes, a very happy one.”
Wan Xian’Er closed her eyes with a smile and whispered, “That’s good.”
As soon as she finished speaking, her breathing evened out. Her eyelashes trembled slightly, and it was clear she had fallen asleep.
Gently pulling Wan Xian’Er closer into his embrace, Mu Chen helped her into a more comfortable position before falling asleep himself. However, since it was still early, he didn’t fall into a deep slumber. Thus, he woke the moment he felt a gentle gaze fall upon his face. He didn’t open his eyes right away, though. ‘After all, I can see what’s happening around me even with my eyes closed.’
His vision gradually sharpened, and the first thing that came into view was Wan Xian’Er’s beautiful face. The flush from earlier had completely faded after her nap, and her skin now looked even more translucent and delicate—so much so that it made one want to take a bite.
Her lively, wide eyes blinked as she gazed at him. Her eyelashes swept down as her pale fingers gently traced a path across his face, the tip of his nose, the corner of his lips, his neck, and his chest, finally coming to a stop on his right shoulder. There, a deep bite mark was clearly visible.
Upon seeing the mark, Wan Xian’Er’s expression was pained at first, but in the next moment, that pain transformed into a blissful smile. As for what she was thinking during that transition, only she knew.
But just as Mu Chen was about to see what Wan Xian’Er would do next, she suddenly gave him a sly look and, to his complete astonishment, bit down on his lip.
HISS!
Sucking in a sharp breath, Mu Chen’s eyes flew open. He said sheepishly, “I say, Little Fairy, when did you start acting like a puppy?”
Wan Xian’Er shot Mu Chen a glare and retorted irritably, “You’re the puppy. And who told you to keep pretending to be asleep when you were already awake?”
Mu Chen gave Wan Xian’Er a fierce look, then suddenly flipped over and pinned her beneath him. Wan Xian’Er gasped in surprise, exclaiming, “Mu Chen! My dearest Mu Chen! Xian’Er knows she was wrong, please spare me!”
Mu Chen teased, “What did you call me?”
How could Wan Xian’Er not understand what he meant? But she was truly afraid of him now. After their earlier marathon session, she had come to deeply appreciate Mu Chen’s stamina. Although the strange sensation had been pleasurable, she still felt weak all over. So, in a voice as quiet as a mosquito’s buzz, she shyly called out, “H-Husband.”
Only after hearing this title did Mu Chen release her in satisfaction, pulling her into his arms instead. In an instant, his fierce expression melted into one of endless tenderness. Seeing this transformation, Wan Xian’Er realized she’d been tricked; his earlier expression and actions had all been an act.
“You just love to bully me,” Wan Xian’Er said peevishly, nestled in his embrace.
Mu Chen lovingly stroked Xian’Er’s long hair and shook his head. “I don’t even have enough time to dote on you, how could I ever bully you? These past three years, I’ve wronged you and Ying’Er far too much. I’m afraid I won’t be able to repay you even if I spend my whole life trying. Xian’Er, tell me, how have you been these three years?”
The moment he mentioned the past three years and Ying’Er, Wan Xian’Er’s mood sank. But she quickly composed herself, took Mu Chen’s hand, and placed it on her cheek. “I’ve already forgotten how I spent these past three years,” she said softly. “I made Ying’Er my entire world. When she was in pain, I was in pain. When she was happy, I was happy. I poured my entire heart into her, but I still couldn’t erase the image of you. Every time I looked at Ying’Er’s hair and eyes, I would unconsciously think of you. It was such a complicated feeling. I hated you. I hated you so much I wanted to kill you. And yet, I missed you. It was a longing that ached to the very marrow of my bones.”
“It wasn’t until the day before yesterday that I suddenly realized something. At the root of all my hatred for these past three years was the fact that I was really just angry at myself. If I hadn’t hidden the truth from you back then, if I had left even a single clue for you to find me, I wouldn’t have put myself through so much pain. At that moment, I wanted to see you. I had never wanted to see you so badly. But at the same time, I didn’t want to see you. I was afraid you would be in even more pain after seeing Ying’Er. I thought it would be better for me to bear this pain alone than for you to suffer with me.” As she spoke, Wan Xian’Er’s voice began to choke up, and tears streamed uncontrollably down her face. “Ying’Er, she… Ying’Er… *sob*… I’m sorry, Mu Chen, I didn’t take good care of Xiao Ying’er. Her life… her life… AHH!! AHH!!…”
It was a heart-wrenching, soul-shattering cry. With her voice, Wan Xian’Er was telling him just how much immense pain and self-blame she had endured these past three years. She had no one to confide in, no one to lean on. She could only silently endure, persevere, and even pretend to be strong and mature. But no matter how she pretended, no matter how much she endured, Xian’Er was still Xian’Er—that lively, carefree, and simple girl without too many schemes in her heart. For her to bear all this… even the heavens would find it cruel!
