The Novel's Draft

Chapter 116 - 168 (3)

"I am the 4th lieutenant of the demon king general Lamia." The human looking demon in the sky with a wide cape bowed, "If you wish to pass here then you’d best to turn around now and save yourself from humiliation."

Walking up in the air as if there was an invisible staircase, a general with a scissor-like blade unsheathed his weapon from his back.

"What’s this? Such arrogance, do you truly believe that a mere foot soldier such as yourself can handle themself against someone like me–?" The caped demon said cockingly.

Breaking his sentence, the general with the scissor blade swung the blade which split into two.

And there were two flashes of lights that made its mark across the sky.

Dodging the attack by elevating higher to the sky, the demon commanded its cape to turn into multiple spears that thrusted forward at the general.

Running on air, the general was maneuvering around in sharp turns, dodging all of the attacks.

Dashing forward, the general was inching closer to the demon.

Why wasn’t he just using that skill he used from earlier? Unless it was some sort of ultimate skill that couldn’t be used in succession.

In any case, the general was swift.

Seemingly landing a slash at the demon, it turned out to be only an illusion. It was just the demon’s cape that resembled the demon.

Jumping up, a bright light shrouded over the scissor blades.

But he didn’t launch that sky cleaving attack from earlier, he kept battling as normal.

I see, so the general was enhancing his blades with the attack. With a pseudo skill, I wonder if I can do that with excaliburn.

Spreading his cape across the sky, the demon circled the general, completely backing him into a corner.

Suddenly, multiple spears from the cape launched towards him.

Spinning his body like a blender, the general cut down the attacks of the fibers.

"This is not the only thing that I am capable of!" The demon retracted the tattered cape, its original size had shrunk incredibly.

The cape then separated from the demon and turned into a flat square that started to spin, which split into smaller pieces.

Flying straight forward at the general, the attack was either blocked, deflected or dodged.

But the demon must have anticipated this because the square disks had flown back straight at the general.

The overwhelming amount of attacks that weren’t resting was obviously pushing him back, as he accumulated damage.

And the invisible floor that he stood on to battle was collapsing, I couldn’t see it but he would occasionally stagger and his feet would drop.

As he continued his battle, the army continued its march.

Our numbers were swiftly dwindling, and we couldn’t slow down for the healers to fix them up.

Gritting my teeth, I wondered: Just how further is the demon lord..?

"Haha! Looks like I was right, you are no match for me!" The demon scoffed, continuing the onslaught of attacks.

Standing still, the general had closed the gap between them.

"Huh–!"

Slashing an X shape, a bright large cleave of light made the demon’s blood splatter.

The projectile cleaved through the air, catching the allure of all of the demons.

Falling from the sky and landing with a thunderous crash, the demon’s body was left mangled as it was stepped over the feet of multiple soldiers.

The general was walking down the invisible set of stairs, but the stairs crumbled and he lost his footing.

Jumping up to catch him, the so-called mage with the iron club staff caught him before he fell.

Holding him in her hands, the general mage had jumped into the middle of the circle where all of the healers remained.

"Come on, heal him." Said the mage.

Listening to her words, a stack of healing barriers covered the scissor blade wielding general. His wounds had disappeared within seconds.

Turning around to look at my companions, I kept my right eye shut.

"Vertere and Acro, how’s your mana looking?" I asked.

"I have enough for one battle, but other than that I won’t have enough for anything else." Vertere answered.

Looking at Acro, he nodded before giving his response:

"Same for me, so don’t worry about it."

Looking at Kacon, he was in good condition but I couldn’t say the same for Joka.

His weapons were dull and I didn’t have enough scales to give him while having enough remaining to protect myself.

Noticing my stare, Joka pulled out something from his back.

"How..? How did you manage to get that?" My eye widened, as Joka was holding the dagger of the assassin general.

"It just sort of dropped into my hands."

Looking at the dagger, I read its description:

[Ten Dagger lives]

- A dagger that can split into ten daggers.

Opening my mouth, I began explaining its ability to Joka.

Nodding, he extended a hand and it split into multiple that dropped to the ground before disappearing.

"Looks like I need to activate its ability while it’s on the move."

"I would advise against throwing it." I nodded, "Since the general who wielded that weapon must have had a way to retract it back."

Rubbing his chin, Joka pointed the dagger to the sky and flicked his hand.

A dagger spun, flying away.

"Would you look at that, just a simple flick of the wrist and it had launched an attack."

Continuing the march, I gulped with a dry throat.

Opening my flask, I finished the whole thing.

Looking up, the novel’s draft still wasn’t appearing.

Suddenly, the mage who stood next to Incus jumped.

"We’re almost there, I’d say just twenty minutes more before we arrive!"

Looking over at Incus, I saw something disgusting.

A genuine smile was slapped on her face.

Are we serious? Why the fuck is she smiling, doesn’t she understand the amount of lives that had been sacrificed for this quest?

As my brain was filled with anger, multiple figures stood in the distance on top of pillars.
