Chapter 101 - 164 (2)

Severing the assassin’s neck off, Incus sighed.

"Yap yap, even if you were to somehow pop up, I’ll kill all of you."

Opening her doors, Incus snapped her fingers.

"Servant—"

"What is it your heroic majesty?" A kneeling servant suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Nodding, Incus pointed at the bodies behind her.

"I need you to clean up this mess, I’m not going to sleep with such filth around. Is the Queen’s chamber open?" Incus asked.

Standing up, the servant placed a fist over his chest.

"Order. We will begin cleaning your room immediately, and yes the Queen’s chamber is open."

"Alright then, hurry up and lead the way for me." Said Incus.

Leading the way, Incus followed the Servant. The soft moonlight gently caressing against her skin as he followed her just a little bit behind.

Soon reaching the queen’s chamber, Incus laid down on the bed before snoring.

"Is everything in the clear now partner?" Alleus poked at me.

"It all should be fine now, everyone go look for an extra mattress, and blankets." I ordered, as we split up and began rummaging through the room.

The queen’s chamber was just a little smaller that the King’s chamber but it was very much spacious.

Looking inside a closet, a large room filled with manequins that were wearing dresses and other accessories such as jewelry.

Walking inside, I analyzed everything to see if they had been enchanted.

And I was correct but the enchants weren’t stat boosts but just a simple enchant that increases attractiveness.

Maybe the queen was much uglier than I imagined but was blinded by the enchantment?

No, that can’t be. My eyes couldn’t possibly be fooled.

As I walked deeper into the closet, something caught my attention.

In front of me a an intricate chest with golden embroidery.

Not being able to stop the smile from forming on my face, I grinned widely.

Slowly opening the chest, multiple things flashed through my imagination.

It could be a weapon, a really powerful armor or just something overpowered!

Pulling the chest fully open, I was met with disappointment.

It was just a potion.

But this doesn’t have the hue of a recovery nor mana potion.

The liquid inside was something mystical, it’s color would gradually change from dark blue to black, before shifting to a dark blue color again.

Grabbing the potion, I held it up to me face.

[Stats increasing potion]

-A potion that had been crafted as a secret weapon for when queen gets found out for getting an affair-

Wait what? This isn’t the usual description that I would usually get but judging by the description, it was not made by the system but written by the author.

I guess that there was meant to be a subplot about the queen but either Incus cut that event from happening or the author just didn’t want to do it.

Oh well.

Pulling off the cork, I looked at the strange liquid.

Should I really be the one drinking this?

Ah, damn it.

Forcing myself to guzzle down on the potion, a distinguishing taste overwhelmed my tongue.

After I finished drinking, I began coughing.

"Ack, that tasted horrible." I said to myself.

Clenching my fist, I raised an eyebrow.

Strange, I don’t feel any different.

Was the description a lie? Or maybe the potion only works for the Queen.

Suddenly, something was toiling inside my stomach.

Collapsing to the ground, I started groaning.

Please, don’t tell me that the secret weapon was a laxative! Because I’m not about to humiliate myself like this.

Suddenly, a pain began spreading out throughout my body.

My veins felt like they were about to explode, and a massive aching headache made pulsed.

"Arghh.."

Focusing on breathing, I tried not focusing on the pain but the pain continued to grow.

"Ring, we’ve found a mattress and everything else that a bed needs." Alleus shouted.

Hearing her footsteps get closer, my pupils brightened.

This pain made talking difficult, and if she sees me like this then she’ll call for Vertere or Acro.

"Miss Alleus, can you come and pick up the other mattress! Vertere got crushed trying to pick it up for himself!" Acro shouted.

"Argh..!" Damn it Acro, why did you have to go and call for her!

I swear, once I’m out of this situation, I’ll choke out the remaining life you have left!

Becoming unbearable, I reached for a dress and bit on the fabric.

Gritting my teeth, I groaned.

Damn it!

Every second felt like minutes.

Hurry up and pass damn it!

***

After what felt like an hour, the pain was gradually subsiding.

Opening my mouth, I spat out the fabric.

Staggering to stand up, I leaned on the shoulder of a mannequin.

With labored breathing, I closed the chest before sitting on top of it.

Hearing footsteps with heavy steps, I looked up.

"Ring, are you okay! You took too long to come out of the closet and I got worried for you, if everything alright?"

With a hesitant nod, I dared not to meet her eyes.

"Yeah." I strained.

If I said more than one word then I might just vomit out blood.

Leaning in closer to me, her face was directly next to mine.

Jolting in surprised, she grabbed my chin and looked intently at my face.

"You liar, I can clearly see that you’re in pain." Alleus sighed, grabbing me by the wrist and pulling me out of the closet.

"Hey you two, was there anything in the closet?" Vertere asked.

"No." Alleus shook her head, "But I want you to look at Ring’s condition, something seems to be bothering him."

Leaning to the side, Vertere assessed me.

"Let our new recruit handle this, I’m a bit busy putting on the sheets over these mattresses." Vertere gestured something to Acro.

Standing up, putting down the pillow, Acro placed his ear over my chest.

"H-His breathing seems a bit ragged, lay down so I can take a closer look." Acro pointed for lay on the bed.
