The Novel's Draft

Chapter 100 - 164

After the bath, Incus immediately started getting to get dressed.

Outside of the bathhouse, I looked at Alleus and used:

"So, what did they talk about?"

"Nothing much, it was just the same old same old. They were conversing on how much troops they should employ from each kingdom to decrease the least amount of lives expended." Alleus waved her hand as she answered.

These damned monsters, they’re speaking of lives as if they are nothing but numbers.

Gritting my teeth, I sighed.

Whatever, I just need to focus on recruiting more people to join our people.

"So how was your bath, guys?" Alleus asked in a joyful tone.

"It was amazing! Let me tell you, I’ve never been so relaxed before." Vertere stretched, his face full of glee, "Only complain I have is that we left too early, one we go to the real world, I’ll definitely be going to a bathhouse."

Vertere’s statement made me stop.

That’s right, the goal is to leave this place and go to the real world.

Following Incus and Radeius as they made their journey back to the palace, I looked around.

The bustling and joyful vision from when I first came to this kingdom had been replaced with fear and uncertainty.

"Real world?" Acro tilted his head, "What do you mean real world? If you say that we’re in a novel then shouldn’t our goal be reaching the end of the story?"

Alleus nodded.

"Yeah, but Ring said that there is a way for us to leave at the end of the story." Alleus looked at me, gesturing for me to continue.

"Exactly as she said, but we’ll have to accompany Incus as she dives into the demon king’s domain—"

Interrupting me, Acro suddenly retorted:

"What! Shouldn’t we just stay here in this Kingdom? Why do we have to follow her?"

Oh right, we forgot to tell him.

"We can only stay under four hundred meters away from Incus to maintain our clarity, any further than that then we become mindless dolls." I said bluntly.

With his face turning pale, Acro’s face that always seemed to be searching for an answer stopped and was replaced with fear.

"B-But, Incus is bound to come back! So why don’t we stay here and wait for her—"

"No." I interrupted him, "I’ve thought of that strategy a long time ago but do you know what happens to side characters—The people that get caught in the cross fire? They die without being able to fight back, the author is merciless when in comes to unknowingly killing off more people than they realize."

"I-I see, so we have a much higher chance of survival if we stick close to Incus... are you really sure that there isn’t any other way?" Acro asked with trembling hands.

"I’m not sure, if we were to experiment any other ways then we might just die trying." I grimaced.

There just might be a way for us to stick close to Incus while maximizing our chances of survival but as things are, those chances are really low and I’m not willing to sacrifice our lives for what might be a pointless endeavor.

Soon without realising it, we’ve arrived at the kingdom.

Walking through the rooms, Incus entrered the king’s chamber.

This time, I’m not going to spend my time sleeping outside.

Just as Incus opened her door, I steeled my resolve.

"Everyone follow me!" I shouted.

Running inside Incus’ room before it closes, we all landed on the floor on top of each other.

Surprisingly, the force that would usually stop us from doing things that weren’t allowed means that either that the king’s chamber is so big or something was written on the novel that would allow us to enter.

Recently, the amount of notes on what happens on the next Chapter has lessened.

Suddenly, my eyes widened as I realized just what this means.

"Everyone, step away from Incus as far as possible!" I shouted.Extending both of my hands, I grabbed everyone as I stood and ran towards one of the room’s corner.

"Huh, why are we staying away from Incus?" Alleus asked.

"We got into the chamber room too easily. If my theory is right, then it means that assassins will arrive and try to kill Incus." I gulped.

"No way... you don’t mean that." Alleus paled as the same revelation dawned on her.

We might have just replaced those assassin’s roles.

Watching as Incus take off her armor in the incredibly large chamber room.

This room is as big as the garden... no, it’s even bigger than that..!

As my eyes concentrated on Incus, sweat fell down my face.

Incus then sank into her bed, and something glinted from outside the window.

Suddenly, arrows penetrated the windows in the room.

With a loud crashing of glass multiple men cloaked in black appeared, surrounding Incus.

Slowly tiptoeing our way to another smaller room of the king’s chamber, we peeped our heads and watched as Incus suddenly disappeared from her bed.

"Thank goodness, you were wrong. If we were to battle Incus then we would’ve lost our heads!" Vertere chuckled.

Smacking him on the back of the head, I frowned.

"Now’s not the time to be making jokes dumbass."

Shifting my eyes to look at Incus, she was in a clash with multiple of the assassins.

Forging a sword made of the dragon scales armor, Incus skillfully maneuvered around, dancing as she dodged the blades.

"You guys are seriously weak, did you think that you could defeat me with such petty numbers?" Incus chuckled maniacally.

Suddenly stopping in her tracks, multiple heads suddenly flew off of their shoulders.

"So, you’ve managed to kill us all. But this isn’t the end—"

Cutting off the cloaked man’s arm, the assassin staggered but steadied himself.

"Even if you kill me now, there will be more of us in the future. You don’t deserve that title of hero that you carry." The assassin raised his sword, "We, the anti-Hero cult will slay you!"
