The Novel's Draft

Chapter 99 - 163 (2)

Assisting Incus in holding Chieftain Levis’ Casket, we rested his casket down a river way.

The four of us blended as casket carriers because the citizens were strictly ordered to stay still, leaving us with no other choice.

But even so, I wanted to honor Chief Levis somehow.

Out of everyone I’ve met so far, he is the only one who holds up the ideals of a true hero.

Watching Chief Levis float down the river, I sighed.

How many more good people will have to die like this in the future.

A week later, the supply from Jansoara had finally arrived.

"Hero King Incus, we have arranged everything in the manner of food to armory for better tracking. How shall we distribute the goods?" One of the Servants from Jansoara asked.

Glancing around, I couldn’t help but notice there were many more servants that were hiding out.

I managed to find them out because their faces were clean unlike the rest of the citizens of the kingdom of Febritust.

Throughout the week, everyone had helped out with fixing up things.

Even children who was just learning to walk helped with fishing and spotting out fish.

No one was left behind when it came to supporting the recovery of the kingdom.

"Look for commander Cage... wait, no. He’s still recovering. Go look for commander Soulder, it’s easy to spot him, he as long hair." Incus ordered with dismissing wave of her hand.

Bowing, the servant dissipated off into the distant.

The rest of the servants that were hiding out did the same.

As Incus walked through the carriages of resources, I turned towards everyone else.

"Spend this time to fill up on anything you need, don’t worry about holding back." As I said those words, Vertere and Alleus immediately began opening up crates and started scouting for whatever they may need.

"W-We shouldn’t be doing this, won’t hero Incus do something about it if we do? We’ll be arrested... no. E-Executed!" Acro trembled.

Smacking him on the head, I sighed.

"Like I said, we’re in a novel." I jumped up on a carriage to look for anything that can increase my chances in the future, "If we weren’t in a novel then we would have been forbidden in carrying chief Levis’ casket now would we. But we weren’t."

Opening a crate, I was disappointing because it was just undergarments... for old women no less.

"You must have used some kind of magic spell for them not to notice us or did some kind of hypnosis on them! We’re not in a novel!" Acro stomped his foot.

Looking up in the sky, I said:

"Incus will bump into a kid who tries stealing one of her swords but becomes disappointed when he realizes that Incus doesn’t have them on her personal."

In my peripheral vision what I said happened, and Acro’s expression grew pale.

"T-That is impossible! You must have used some kind of future sight ability."

This guy’s much more determined in believing what he want’s to than Vertere.

"Ever wonder why I threw in all of the survivors into the tent that you and commander Cage were in? It’s because commander cage was written to live, that’s why the demon’s attacked couldn’t attack beyond the tent’s fabric." I opened another crate and found bread which I began chewing on.

Looking at his expression, I can tell that hes beginning to wane.

"Come on, aren’t you going to try and disprove me somehow with another ass pulled logic?" I said in a mocking tone.

Gritting his teeth, Acro shook his head.

Even if he doesn’t fully believe me now, he will as time goes on.

Walking to another carriage, Acro started opening up crates.

There wasn’t really anything of value.

Aside from the food everything was pretty lackluster.

The armory that was sent was worse than our current equipment, and there wasn’t any potions at the current moment.

The stuff here only covered the basic necessities.

But the people seem to be happy with what they’re receiving. At the front of the group of carriages, everything was being distributed.

Meeting up, I looked at Vertere and Alleus.

Vertere had changed his clothes but kept his equipment, Alleus did the same.

Glancing at Acro, I pulled up his robe and his clothes were changed also.

"What’s the matter, you’re the only one who didn’t change?" Vertere chuckled.

Groaning, I went back on the carriage.

After changing my clothes, we followed Incus.

She had headed to meet with Queen Evecles.

"What is it hero?" Queen Evecles asked, as she was looking down on the water of the riverbed.

"I’ve finished up my buisiness here. I’ve stopped the rule of the arch demoness and you have agreed to aid me in my attempt to go to war against the demon king, so I will be headed back now." Incus said bluntly.

"You’re headed back so soon? Why don’t you stay for us to hold you a party?" Queen Evecles said.

Looking at each other, my mouth watered as I was prepared to eat a belly full’s worth of food.

"There’s no need. The longer I stay here, the more at risk my kingdom and others are endangered." Incus began walking towards the carriages.

"Ughhh, that’s so lame!" Alleus groaned, "I was fully prepared for another feast!"

"Come on, let’s just get going." I waved me hand to follow after Incus.

"Well, I guess this is where we say our goodbyes then." Said Acro.

Smacking him on the head, I dragged him by the back of his clothes.

I don’t care if he’s going to kick about but we need more people for the upcoming battle that we’ll be in.

"You’re coming with us, and besides this is your one and only chance to become a hero." I said mindlessly.

"Me as a hero?" Acro pondered before getting up, "Well, don’t be such a slowpoke and let’s get going then!"

With a slight chuckle escaping my breath, we hopped inside the same carriage as Incus.
