Chapter 377: Bio Hazard
"Great Emperor! It is done!" a figure dressed in a pristine white coat bowed before the emperor sitting on the grand throne of the east.
Above the ceiling, faint, spectre-like silhouettes of dragons danced in the air, a growl of resonance ringing through the hall as the weight of providence settled in the air.
A frame that inspired awe and billowed with immeasurable charisma slackened on the throne, using his fist to support his chin lazily, Emperor Qin Shi Huang let out a low, soft reply. "It’s about time..."
Saying this he rose, his frame dwarfing the silhouette of even the strongest of men, his eyes glowed bright as he strolled down from his throne, energy permeating the atmosphere going calm, as the emperor outstretched his arm.
The subordinate did not hesitate or waste time, stretching both arms he offered a glowing jade box, his head still bowed low not even daring to take a peek upwards.
The emperor remained silent, gently raising the heavy lid of the jade imperial chest, small, but stomaching a deadly content.
The emperor smiled at the sight before him, an object deadly enough to wipe out a race, basically an extinction-inducing item, yet it was so small.
Nothing but a small, simmering, copper-glowing vial, sealed tight, the emperor gently picked the vial almost as though he was holding the world’s most precious yet fragile gem.
Observing it for a few seconds, then he asked, "And all I have to do is to unleash it?"
"Yes, Your Majesty!" the subordinate promptly declared in reply, his tone solemn yet vigorous.
The emperor nodded, a cold resolve settling over him, as his thumb pressed on the sealed cork of the vial, applying enough pressure to pop it open.
And with a satisfying pop, the vial glimmered several shades brighter, the coppery surface glistening with an unnatural hue for a few seconds.
Before fading into a lackluster, dull shade of ashen brown, a sharp hiss diffusing into the air, nothing strange happened, the emperor didn’t feel anything, even the subordinate didn’t feel any mystical influence.
But both sides remained calm and composed, silence reigning in the air, as both emperor and subordinate silently observed for any signs it must have worked.
They got nothing but silence and a sharp hiss of diffusing gas and that was it, just like the scientist had explained they wouldn’t see any reactions because everything was happening on a microscopic level.
A realm beyond human perception...
Thinking back on this explanation, Emperor Qin Shi Huang still couldn’t help but marvel about how much humanity seemed to have improved compared to his time.
The knowledge of this era really was beyond him, he couldn’t help but marvel about how many more wonders the study of science and technology could push the human race towards.
He had barely finished having this thought when the notification happened, elusive to only the bearers of great providence in the human race.
His eyes flashed...
[Congratulations! Humanity has completed its hidden condition!]
[The Fey Race has been exterminated!]
[Providence of the Fey’s has been overwhelmed!]
[Error! The Fey race providence failed to initiate a Fate Challenge!]
[The fortune of the Fey’s is being assimilated by the human race!]
And then with a brilliant flash a notification visible to all humans alive flashed.
[Congratulations! The human race has awakened a new attribute...]
Status screens flickered to life as each human’s evolved status unraveled right before their eyes.
A new stat attribute flickering into the line of text, depicting the existential capacity of each evolver.
And now the new text branding itself right between the will and intelligence stat... a new mind-related stat.
[Spirit: 10]
The same words, the same two digits of one and zero flashing across everyone’s screen.
A new stat, just like that, the populace bursting with sensation as excitement and pride raged in everyone’s heart, to them these random blessings were just coming from nowhere.
The average human not knowing the sacrifices maintained to gain such rewards, if the actions leading to these rewards were to be judged from the previous moral values humans once held it could be seen as war crimes.
Exterminating two distinct populations of totally different races, the flame dragons of the west and now the Feys of the east.
Both were crucial instruments the ancient races needed to exterminate the humans in the west and east.
The dragon’s terrifying capabilities for mass destruction were the overwhelming force the native races of the west needed to dismantle the humans’ greatest strength, numbers.
As for the east, the fey were one of the few ancient races with comparable fertility to the humans, meaning they were the backbone of the ancient force armies in the east, led by members of the immortal race, the fey constituted about 64% of the total ancient race armies of the east.
And with great horror did these ancient beings watch as their men abruptly fell limp, bleeding from all their orifices, their hearts seizing, every single soul tied to the fey bloodline, every being carrying their genetic make-up, cut down in the same breath.
Mass extinction, happening all at once. At least the flame dragons had died in the dark, leaving the ancient forces still clueless to what killed them.
But this? This they were forced to watch. Great beings with unfathomable power, figures who had always prided themselves on standing beyond the humans, could only stand frozen as their men choked on their own breath.
Strangled by the very atmosphere that had once embraced and birthed them — it was a horrifying, haunting sight, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.
Of a horror severe enough that even the great Jade Emperor had no choice but to call an immediate retreat.
They had barely waged war against humans — what, a week? And already they were fleeing with their tails between their legs.
Just like that, a full 64% of their forces, wiped out in an instant. Who wouldn’t be terrified?
Enemy forces receded like a tide pulling back from shore, and the humans surged forward to meet it, charging with aggrieved fervor, cutting into their retreating foes with a rabid, chilling efficiency.
This clash, brief as it was, sent the message loud and clear: humans weren’t the weaklings they had once been. That was a bitter, painful pill to swallow.
But swallow it they had to. They couldn’t even begin to comprehend the means the humans had used to carry out such an efficient massacre — only that it was more than enough to scare the living shit out of them.
For this war of hegemony, they had all looked down on the humans for far too long. Now, they were paying for that ignorance in blood.
