Chapter 54 - Communicating with Insanity
Silas reached the middle and the people around them scattered across. There were still a few people watching over them from the shadows but he ignored them. From their mana and energy, they were not a threat to him.
In the middle was a pale woman standing, looking up at the sky with a beautiful smile. She was one of the most beautiful women he had come across in the world.
She was the complete opposite of Rin and exposed the calm beauty. Her long black hair was clearly combed and well maintained.
Aanacia wore a tight outfit, revealing her curves and massive butt. Her breasts were also firm and showed her nipples.
Silas frowned, grabbing his head. He let out a laugh.
"You can even influence the mind like this." He muttered.
Aanacia turned to him with surprise and nodded. "Indeed, traveller. After all, like you said, I have the power to connect. Even if the other person didn’t want to connect, I can pour one sided intention."
She smiled cunningly.
Silas noted down the information about her gift and continued walking toward. He stopped his steps and this time looked at her with his true intentions.
He then nodded.
"Negotiation." Aanacia muttered softly.
"Yes. State your reason for staying here. I will try to negotiate with others and get your pieces." Silas said with confidence.
Of course, it was a bluff since she was the only one he tried to negotiate with right now. Either way, he wished for failure.
Dealing with the insane woman was not good for his mental health. She literally corroded his mind.
He still had a way to defend against her with the help of Thamior. Another reason why he hadn’t killed that old mage.
’Please demand something absurd.’ He prayed.
Aanacia smiled and walked toward his direction, grabbing his chin. She slowly lifted up and dragged it near her lips.
Their lips were about to touch when she pulled back and smiled.
"I like you. You are beautiful." She said, "Marry me."
"You should see my face."
"I don’t care. I can pull your mind and place it inside the most beautiful man."
Silas choked, feeling repulsive under her words. "That meant losing my talent."
"Oh, I can choose a beautiful and talented body. That is how much I like you." Aanacia said.
Silas sighed inwardly and took out the most powerful card he acquired. "I am sorry but I have to decline your proposal. I am married and I love my wife very much."
"Liar." Aanacia smiled, seeing through the surface of his thoughts with her gift.
Silas smiled. "That is how much I hate interacting with you."
Aanacia backed off, not changing her expression. She didn’t even register his knight and treated him as an air.
Roland was looking around, struggling to find a way to inject himself but stopped himself.
"I want everything." Aanacia declared.
"I see."
"Not going to question in detail?"
Silas shook his head, smiling faintly. "No point in that. I know about your gift and the deep hunger that you possess."
"I have never met someone who hates me this much. I feel sad that my first love is crushed in an instant." Aanacia said.
Silas turned around and stopped. "Since we are going to be enemies, I will give you some advice. Don’t bother coming at me. No matter what you prepare I will crush you head on."
With the advice, Silas left. He arrived at the edge and looked at the Pinky Finger. He called upon Vae, the wind spirit and asked the spirit to take the two men there.
Before he left, his eyes looked at the young elf beside him and asked. "Why did you say you love me?"
"Because it is true. You are beautiful."
Silas frowned. "Beautiful in what way? You haven’t even seen me before."
"I can see you right now. And your thoughts are filled with warmth that makes my heart beat. That is why I said I love you and you are my first love."
Hearing the confession from the young elf made him uncomfortable in many ways. He let out a sigh and jumped, followed by Roland.
In the air, Roland looked down at the Ring Finger’s peak and turned his head to Silas. "That is underwhelming."
"Oh. We are lucky, Roland." Silas said. "We are lucky that Aanacia didn’t try to invade our mind. She is not like other people. Don’t treat her as an individual and treat her as a whole."
Roland nodded, listening to his advice. "I will see to the end how you managed to end this mess without making enemies."
Silas was surprised by Roland and nodded.
"On to the next target. I can’t wait to see Luna." Silas said.
"I wonder what Ice-pick is doing." Roland muttered.
Silas closed his eyes in the air as the wind carried him over to the mountain. He recalled the conversation between him and Aanacia.
If it is true that she loved him, he could use that for advantages. But he needed to be careful with her. Without a guard, she would devour his mind and make him fall into her hive mind.
The danger of her gift was evidence. With a thought, she could devour the entire kingdom or inflict serious damage.
The only things stopping her was her ethics or code.
Looking at her hive mind group, Silas didn’t see any humans in it. They were all elves, young or old. That alone gave him something to look into her thought process.
She didn’t like taking in someone with little lifespan to her group. She must have had a terrible experience for her to avoid this.
Elves were hard to find. Some villages were hidden deep in the dark forest. The only reason they came out to the human world was for the treasure such as this or have unique circumstances like Aanacia.
Anyway, Aanacia could be dealt with ease if he played his cards correctly.
After pondering, they arrived at the Pinky Finger at lunch time.
Unlike every other peak, this mountain was covered in barriers and artifacts. With a glance, Silas saw how much effort poured into this. He felt about busting up the barrier.
Of course, he won’t be the one doing it.
Silas looked at Vae with hopeful eyes and pleaded without saying a word. Vae seemed to understand him and shook.
It then pointed at the mountain again.
The barrier vanished and the presence of the artifacts dropped.
"They are welcoming us." Roland said. "Looks like our beautiful pair did a great job."
"Yeah." Silas agreed. "I will reward them greatly after all this."
Vae dropped them on the edge and vanished again into the spirit world.
"Stay there."
A booming voice echoed in the peak, ordering them. Silas stopped.
"Don’t try to use mana or energy."
The voice sounded like a jaded warrior, a man who had seen the dark side of the world. But there was a certain hint of calmness in it. Silas could fall asleep under his voice.
"Why don’t you talk about Spirit?" Silas yelled back.
"We don’t dare to disrespect the spirit." The voice replied.
"I see. So should I just stay here?" Silas asked.
How was he supposed to converse when he didn’t see the other person’s eyes? It totally made the conversation lifeless. He could ignore the order and did as he pleased but it was not a good choice.
"Alright, you can move. Follow the mana path and meet me."
Even in the flat peak, due to the barrier and such, it seemed like a maze that obscured his vision. Silas turned to Roland and nodded.
