My Childhood Friend Turned Yandere in the Apocalypse

Chapter 94: Ch 93: Shelly’s perfect crime

’I never thought a day would come where I would have to defend someone other than Rin. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to lose the doctor when Rin is sick.’

Shelly would have loved to throw Reina at Kora and get rid of her, but unfortunately, she could not do that without risking Rin’s life.

That, and the fact that losing Reina would make Rin’s busy life even busier.

He already had almost no time to spend with Shelly, and she had no intention of letting anything else get his attention before she found a way to regain it.

So, as much as it pained her to do so, she was going to defend Reina staying here.

"You...how can you do this...Even you, Reina? I thought you were the sensible one and would see reason. Men cannot be trusted—"

"Human nature is not divided into men and women. You cannot call every male you see a bastard."

"But I can call most of them bastards."

There was...just no reasoning with her. And that begged the question- was everyone in Girl’s Battle Frontier the same? Or, did they have people with a better understanding of the world?

Shelly would prefer it to be the first option because that way, no one from there would think of getting close to Rin.

The less people she had to worry about, the more she could think about Rin.

"It’s a shame that we are not able to see eye-to-eye. I will head back for now. Please think about my offer."

Kora finally left and Rin let out a sigh of frustration.

Shelly did not like to see him stressed, but compared to the alternative of him having more attention, this was preferable.

"Rin, are you alright?"

Reina asked the question Shelly wanted to ask. Shelly allowed her to show concern this time, mainly because she had other priorities at the moment.

Like—how to get rid of Kora. she might not be interested in Rin, but she had insulted him enough to make Shelly annoyed. She needed to be dealt with since she was a threat to Rin.

Shelly nearly missed Rin’s reply and she told herself to pay attention to Rin.

"I am fine. I just did not expect this conversation to take so much out of me. Can you leave me alone for a second? I need to gather my thoughts."

Reina opened her mouth to protest, but quickly decided not to say much. She nodded and walked past Shelly, who followed her out, but not before she took a last look at Rin to see if he would call her back.

He did not and Shelly walked outside.

Reina was waiting for her outside and Shelly pretended to ignore her. She had no reason to interact with her when Rin was not there.

But Reina had other plans for her.

"You are going after that rude bitch, right? Make sure to cover your face and erase any traces if you do. Do you want me to show you how?"

"There is no need."

"Of course. I figured if there was one person who knew how to cover up a crime, it would be you. Still, good luck out there."

Shelly watched Reina’s face with an annoyed look. She did not like how bold Reina had gotten when talking to her.

But Shelly could tolerate her for Rin’s sake.

She opened her information panel to check her details.

"Hmmm, even the system is helping me keep Rin safe. How can I not take this as a sign that we were meant to be?"

Shelly spoke with certainty and started walking toward the window. She opened it and after making sure no one was around, she jumped down.

Kora had not gone too far when Shelly caught up to her. She activated her skill and hit Kora on the back of the head.

The outsider was knocked out before she could react and Shelly dragged her along before throwing her in an abandoned storage shed with barely any food and water.

But letting Kora eat and recover was too easy of a punishment. So Shelly decided to bind her arms and feet to the metal pole so that she won’t be able to move.

"Hmm, let’s get you a little comfortable...what’s this? Blood?"

Shelly asked as she turned Kora around. The wound on her head had started to bleed causing Kora to flinch at Shelly’s touch. She likely needed medical attention.

But Shelly only smiled and stood up without a hint of concern on her face.

"Tsk, I will have to clean my hand now. I cannot believe I got blood on it... my clothes also got stained. I will need to be more careful about this in the future."

The system had provided Shelly and other hunters with a standard set of self-cleaning clothes. Those clothes were boring and did not make her stand out. So she did not bother wearing them even once.

After all, Shelly needed to look her best for Rin so that she could make him look at her. She was willing to do anything as long as she got what she wanted.

She snuck back inside her room (she had chosen it carefully when she was young for this reason) and took a quick shower. Her clothes had to be burned since the blood stain would not come out of it.

Luckily, it was a pair her mother gave her so she was not too attached to it.

Once Shelly made sure she was looking fine, she came out of her room and headed toward the cafeteria. Teressa immediately frowned when she looked at Shelly.

"You look...far too happy. What did you do?"

The succubus asked in a suspicious voice but Shelly did not even care about being accused by her.

"There is no need for you to know. Just know that whatever I do will help Rin and so stay out of it."
