Infinite Skin System: Starting as An Eldritch Knight

Chapter 208: Percival

Percy fell unconscious because of the lack of oxygen. Then Carter let him breathe and revived him again.

Once he gained back his consciousness, Carter once again put him in the nothingness state and tortured him with air suffocation.

The man was very hardheaded. But his mind was soon broken.

He started at first with spilling curses and threats at the shadow.

Then he went silent, accepting the fate he was in.

Then he begged.

"Please kill me... I don't want this... Please kill me... Arghhh..."

Percy was knocked out again. The feeling of your lungs slowly collapse was haunting.

Then he woke up again.

Carter placed the contract in front of him again. He actually didn't need him to sign the paper. Carter just did it to build up the lore and legend of Satan.

Keeping the actual way Satan acquired Souls a secret was also a good idea. If he met any powerful being in the future, Carter could throw them off course.

Percy's gaze of despair fell onto the contract. His dry lips moved slowly.

"I... I'll sign it."

Carter snapped his finger. The rope automatically broke off of Percy.

The Necromancer didn't even try to run away. He fought this shadow before and knew too well that it was pointless.

"I don't have a pen." Percy said.

Carter grabbed Percy's hand. His finger turned into a blade and made a small incision on Percy's index finger.

"Blood mark is also counted... Fine." Percy mumbled.

He looked defeated. A shell of his former self. After the long torture session, the man had no will left anymore.

'I actually want you to use your blood to press your fingerprint on. But a blood mark is fine, I guess.' Carter thought to himself.

Percy dropped his blood onto the paper.

At the same time, Carter took Percy's shadow away.

The Necromancer saw his shadow being sucked out from under him and into the feet of the shadow in front.

He felt like he had lost something. Something's very important but he couldn't grasp it entirely.

"So this is what it feels like selling your soul. Well, not actually selling. I am being forced to give my soul away." Percy mumbled.

'I am not robbing anyone, son. What you give, you shall receive.' Carter had a silent smirk within his mind.

Through Percy's soul, Carter learned many things. His true name and the overall structure of the Necromancer.

Carter controlled the blood on the contract. It moved and transformed into the name of the Necromancer.

Percival Galois.

'Hmmm. This guy name is rather reminiscent to a character on Earth.' Carter thought to himself.

Suddenly, Percy's shadow returned to himself and attached back to his legs. He felt the missing parts of him return.

"My soul... But why. I sold it." Percy looked up to ask the shadow, but it was already gone.

Percy's soul belonged to Carter now. Carter could do anything he want to Percy and freely control him from afar.

He had no reason to hold Percy at all.

'You can be free for a while, Percy. Before my body heals and I can switch to Satan.'

Carter returned to Baker Street. Dr. Watson had also returned.

The building was in a deplorable state, so James moved Frankenstein into the Institute to recover. Carter still had his own office and living quarters in there.

Paul Avery was noticed about the situation and expressed deep concern about Frankenstein.

That's it. The man couldn't care more about what happened to his best doctor. After all, he was a vampire that would living for eternity. A simple genius was interesting but not worth that much attention from him.

The Necromancers were also becoming more active lately and they outright attacked the Pale Undead under the vampire.

These were still small-scale conflicts and hadn't led to an all-out war yet.

'The Necromancers feel the pressure already, huh? Their role as the master of the Undead is being shaken by the vampire. Sooner or later, a new King of the Undead would be decided.'

After the fight with Percy, Carter had no worry about the Necromancers at all. Delilah and Isabella were more than capable to deal with Awaken and Elite Necromancers. Only a Champion-rank Necromancer would be a problem.

According to Percy's memory, there was actually a Champion Necromancer, Sal Uzman. He called himself Emperor of the Dead and was the most powerful Necromancer ever existed.

'We will have a fight very soon, Sal Uzman. The age of the Necromancers is over. The vampire is here to rule.'

James laid Carter's body onto the bed carefully.

"There. From today, you can look after him while staying in the Institute. The Director has already approved for you to stay." James said.

"I see."

Amelia checked the body's temperature. "He is still so cold. I have checked his vitals many times. I don't understand why he isn't waking up."

"It isn't physical. It probably something we don't understand." Dr. Watson said. "But he would get through it. I am sure of it."

After meeting Charles's group, James Watson had an even more respect for Doctor Victor Frankenstein. Not only was he the best surgeon there was, he had also traveled far, met things that Watson could never imagine, and acquired powers that only existed in fairy tales.

'And now I have also become a resident of this supernatural world...'

Dr. Watson left the scene.

'Dr. Frankenstein' continued to be in a coma for one more week. During this time, Amelia took care of all his needs.

She bathed him. She fed him. She even helped him during his waste disposal time.

Basically, Amelia had literally seen everything that was Dr. Victor Frankenstein.

Carter watched everything from the side and had to cover his face during a few scenes.

'I can't believe the script would go this way... I wonder what would be the logical way for Frankenstein to develop his character...'

Carter couldn't change reality. Shadow Apothecary needed time after the incident with his nameless ability and to get used to the new Transmutation ability. But he did ponder what would Frankenstein react if he knew that little nurse from two years ago had taken care of him.

'Everything points to romance. I haven't done many rom-com before but it's probably easy... Right?'
