Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 1199 - 1198: A Comfortable Life

As the effects of the potion took hold, Ada finally fell asleep in a completely relaxed state.

Seeing her brother close his eyes quietly, Awa turned to Ji Nuan with concern: "Shaman Ji Nuan, is my brother alright?"

Ji Nuan shook her head: "Rest assured, he’s fine. He hasn’t had proper rest for several days. I gave him some potion to help him rest and recover his energy."

After speaking, she stood up: "Follow me. I’ll take you to the place where we prepare food. After the treatment, you can stay here for now. Once your brother’s leg is healed, you can leave."

Awa picked up the scattered beast skins around her, spread them out, and placed Ada on top. She pulled another beast skin over him as a blanket before standing up and following behind Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan to the neighboring house.

A stone door was pushed open, revealing a room for food preparation. It was only half the size of the sleeping quarters, but it had two large connected openings, one of which contained a fire seed burning brightly.

Above it sat a stone pot-like vessel, emitting faint wisps of steam.

But Ji Nuan did not halt her steps. The orc in front of her pushed open another stone door, revealing a forest of meat.

It was truly a forest of meat. Awa had never seen so much food during the cold season. Rows upon rows of prey hung on racks, suspended by grass ropes.

Below the racks, grass baskets were filled with many edible dried plants.

Beside the food storage cave was the dwelling of the twin-humped beasts. Inside, piles of dried grass and thorny fruits were stacked like small mountains.

The twin-humped beasts lounged contentedly, occasionally munching on the grass feed.

If they got thirsty, they would go to the stone trough in the corner for water, living a life of utmost comfort.

"Go over there and grab some dried grass to lay down on the kitchen floor," Ji Nuan stroked Maomao’s big head and pointed to the dried grass stored against the wall.

Awa, gritting her teeth, gathered a bundle of dried grass while under the sharp gazes of Maomao and the other twin-humped beasts.

Ji Nuan smoothed out Maomao’s fur again before the three beasts returned to the kitchen.

"The floor is too cold. Laying down just a beast skin mat won’t help much. Spread these dried grasses on the bottom to insulate the chill from the floor. This will be better for your brother’s body."

When spread out, this bundle of dried grass was enough for the two orcs to sleep on, and it was thick and solid.

Laying a beast skin mat on top would create a cozy little nest.

The dried grass collected from the desert was truly dry. Under Ji Nuan’s guidance, Awa laid down a large grass mat sufficient for two orcs to sleep on.

She then went out to bring their beast skin mats inside, arranged them properly, and moved the already sleeping Ada onto the grass bed.

Xiu Yan and Ji Nuan had already returned, and the fire in the stove continued to burn, radiating waves of warmth.

With the soft grass mat below and the beast skin blanket above, Awa looked at her peacefully sleeping brother beside her and felt her heart at ease.

For days, her brother hadn’t slept, and with his painful wails echoing in her ears, she couldn’t sleep either.

Now surrounded by warmth, her eyelids felt as though a mountain was pressing down on them. Unable to resist the overwhelming fatigue, she finally fell asleep.

Meanwhile, in the neighboring room, Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan had resumed their learning.

Ada felt as though he was enveloped in warm sunlight. The sharp pain in his leg had disappeared, and he couldn’t help but sigh comfortably as he slowly opened his eyes.
