Chapter 1185 - 1184, Unstoppable Dancing
Her heart was pounding wildly at this moment. It was the first time she had independently killed such a fierce carnivorous beast. Although it was exhausting, looking at the two massive corpses lying in front of her, she still felt a surge of excitement.
In the end, a few of these strange beasts managed to escape, but for Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan, who had secured a bountiful harvest, losing a couple wasn’t much of a regret.
This place was about half a day’s journey from the oasis. If they left tomorrow morning, they would likely arrive around midday.
Xiu Yan took the vines he’d previously used to bind the Desert Wolf Beasts out of the basket and began stringing the strange beasts together, one by one.
After evenly distributing the load, Maomao and the other camels would be able to carry everything back.
"Let’s set out now. With Maomao and the others leading the way, it’ll be easy."
Woken up in the dead of night and having gone through a thrilling battle, though she had only killed two of the hunted beasts herself, the excitement left her unable to sleep.
Moreover, the heavy smell of blood in the air here was so strong—it was best to leave before it attracted some other dangerous creature.
Xiu Yan didn’t object. He loaded the string of wild beast carcasses onto the camels’ backs and then transformed into his beast form, carrying Ji Nuan as they set off toward the oasis.
An hour after their departure, the blood stench at the campsite attracted a massive swarm of red scorpions.
Like a wave of sand, they swarmed over the campsite in dense clusters. Unable to find any food, they scuttled away, waving their pincers and shaking their tails as they burrowed back into the sand.
By then, the ground bore no trace of the bloodshed. Apart from a heap of embers, it was as though the battle had never occurred. Not a single speck of blood remained on the sandy ground.
The oasis was bustling in the early morning. Tribes with hunting targets began organizing hunting teams to go out and hunt.
Those without hunting targets formed teams to gather edible plants in the surrounding area.
The tribe of middle-aged orcs was particularly spirited today. Their orcs split into two groups: the females collected thorn fruits and the grass consumed by twin-humped beasts in the surrounding area.
The males gathered firewood.
The previous night, after returning from Ji Nuan, the middle-aged orc shared with the tribe the Shaman Ji Nuan’s suggestion of trading firewood and fodder for food.
Once their initial excitement subsided, the tribe realized that while fodder wasn’t much of an issue, firewood posed a considerable challenge. Their territory was too small, and the amount of firewood they could gather was limited.
That night, the middle-aged orc sighed repeatedly, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Without enough firewood, he felt as though a great deal of food was slipping out of his grasp.
His irritation affected his mate, who sat up and patted him on the arm. "I have a good idea; do you want to hear it?"
The middle-aged orc nodded eagerly. His mate had always been clever and able to come up with good solutions.
The female leaned close to her partner and whispered, "You can trade the food Shaman Ji Nuan gave us with other tribes for their firewood."
The orc’s face instantly scrunched up. "Wouldn’t that mean we’re working for nothing?"
The female rolled her eyes. "Just use half of the food Shaman Ji Nuan gave us to trade for their firewood. Besides, didn’t you say that Shaman Ji Nuan and her group need thicker firewood more than anything else?"
