Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World

Chapter 811 - 810: Wrinkled Little Bun

The little fellow’s chubby face crinkled into a bun in an instant, which amused Ji Nuan greatly. She coaxed and tricked him into drinking a bowl of bitter water. Then, turning around, Ji Nuan took a small porcelain bowl from Xiu Yan’s hand and dabbed a bit of honey on the cub’s lips.

The little one tasted the sweetness and stuck out her tiny tender tongue, licking it all up eagerly. The furrowed chubby face gradually smoothed out.

Only then did Ji Nuan turn to the orc, "The medicinal soup in the kitchen should be ready now. Later, you come with me to pour the soup into the small bathtub, and bring it to the room for the little one to have a bath. Soaking three times should be about enough."

The orc was overjoyed and thanked Ji Nuan repeatedly.

Ji Nuan smiled, "As the tribe’s shaman, isn’t it natural for me to treat you? Come on, let’s prepare the medicinal bath."

The orc nodded eagerly, ready to follow Ji Nuan outside, but suddenly stiffened.

He could swear with his over sixty years of hunting experience that for a moment, he felt as if something terrifying was watching him.

Warily looking back, there was nothing dangerous other than Xiu Yan behind him.

At that moment, Xiu Yan’s chilly voice filled the room, "It seems you are worried about the cub. I’ll go with Nuannuan. You stay here."

Without giving the orc a chance to refuse, Xiu Yan grabbed Ji Nuan’s hand and walked out.

Ji Nuan looked at Xiu Yan curiously, "What’s wrong?"

Xiu Yan shook his head, "Nothing, he’s just worried about the cub. Let him stay. I’ll help you with the medicinal bath instead."

Hearing this, Ji Nuan didn’t ponder any longer and nodded, "Alright, come with me."

In the storeroom, there were barrels of different sizes. Ji Nuan pointed to a barrel knee-high in the corner, "Let’s use that one."

Hearing this, Xiu Yan stepped forward and lifted the heavy barrel with one hand, "Should I clean it first?"

The barrel was quite dusty.

Ji Nuan nodded, "Yes, you clean the barrel. I’ll take out the medicinal packets from the pot. Just bring the clean barrel to the kitchen later."

Xiu Yan nodded, went out to clean the barrel, which had only a thin layer of dust, and washed it in the river before bringing it to the kitchen.

Ji Nuan poured the prepared medicinal juice into it, filling it halfway with water, "Bring it to the bedroom."

They placed the bath barrel on the bedroom floor. Ji Nuan carefully removed the cub’s beast skin clothes and set her in the tub. After the medicinal juice had cooled off a bit and was at a comfortable temperature, the cub didn’t struggle but was quite well-behaved.

Ji Nuan took a clean cloth, dipped it into the medicinal juice in the barrel, and continually gently wiped the cub’s neck and face, which weren’t submerged.

Only then did Ji Nuan use a clean cloth to wipe off the medicine from the little one’s body and placed her in the warm quilt on the bed.

"Shaman Ji Nuan, is the cub alright now?" the orc asked nervously.

Ji Nuan shook her head, "She’ll need to drink another bowl of bitter water tonight, have another medicinal bath, and by tomorrow noon, she’ll be almost better. But she mustn’t be exposed to the wind; she needs to stay indoors for three days."

The orc rubbed his hands, "Should... should I take the cub back now?"

Ji Nuan looked at him, "Let the little one stay here for now. After the last bath tomorrow, you can then take her back. We don’t want her catching a chill on the way home."

Hearing this, the orc nodded hastily and reluctantly glanced at the cub, "Then I’ll go back now and come back tomorrow at noon."
