Chapter 183: Jia Hao. . . . Is missing?
Alpha Wolf Wei Jie listened carefully to all their theories. To what Ming Tao had to say and to what the demon, Mira Yang, had to say too.
He tried to stay calm and collected. He tried so hard to keep his thoughts to himself throughout the explanation the demon of the forest gave concerning Hye Yang, someone who he had lived with during the years this same demon was being the worst version a living being could be. Someone who was nice and kind to him but he felt his restraint hanging on a thread as he listed to Mira Yang taint the name of her sister.
It felt absurd. And it looked like she had blinded Ming Tao with her silly theories too because he was agreeing to it.
Alpha Wolf Wei Jie snapped and banged both of his hands on the table between them, the same one that had all the ’items’ Ming Tao had retrieved from Hye Yang’s hiding place. Mira’s body shook at the sudden behaviour and the sound.
"I am giving you one last chance to shut the hell up and correct every damn thing you said about your sister!" Alpha Wolf Wei Jie bursted out.
Mira saw the intense look in his eyes as it burned with anger. It made her stomach churn.
Ming Tao immediately stepped in, putting a hand on Mira’s shoulder and another in front of her and spoke in equal rage as Wei Jie did. "And I am giving you one last chance to speak to my wife with respect!"
Ming Tao’s gaze burned with rage as well. Wei Jie watched him. His eyes leered from Ming Tao to Mira who was sat down and he let out a scoff.
"This thing has completely blinded you with whatever dark magic she is using." Wei Jie stated. "How are you so sure that all of this is Hye Yang’s doing and not that thing’s?!" He snapped, pointing his hand at Mira. "For alL we know, she is the mastermind behind all of this and is trying to frame her sister! The one female fox in that family who is old enough to take her place! It sounds to me that that demon wants Hye Yang out of the way and not the other way around. And she has you COMPLETELY FOOLED!" Alpha Wolf Wei Jie ranted.
Mira’s body curdled with fear as she watched him take her sister’s side. She did not know whether to be surprised by this or accept it. It was no surprise that Wei Jie would believe Hye Yang over Mira, after all, Mira was the one who tortured the wolf. She did unspeakable things and Hye Yang was the one who helped him move out of those things.
Mira swallowed. She had thought Ming Tao would be the hardest nut to crack but beast world presented Alpha Wolf Wei Jie. This seemed like a difficult mode version and Ming Tao was already difficult at the start.
"I have no reason to lie about my sister, especially when it concerns something as serious as this." Mira said in a soft tone.
"Like I would believe anything that comes out of that mouth of yours." Wei Jie responded in a harsh tone.
Mira kept quiet for a long second, she did not know what to say to that.
"If you do not believe Mira, listen to me. Why would I call you for something if it was not as dire?" Ming Tao chipped in.
Wei Jie let out a scoff. "First of all, she is carrying your child. I am sorry, but you are easy to manipulate at such a vulnerable time." He stated. Alpha Wolf Wei Jie knew how important it was for them to have heirs. He knew how much they, the rulers of the beast world region they habited, craved to have children of their own and he knew how much Mira forbade them from having that joy. So now that she was doing it willingly, suspiciously so, he knew how easy it was to manipulate the father.
"And you tell me Jia Hao is missing. Well, why would he not be, first it was him she got close to and now he is gone right when she got close to you too. Have you not thought about how convenient this whole thing is? And have you not thought that the next person would be you?!" Wei Jie asked with a raised brow. His hands folded on his chest.
Mira looked from Wei Jie to Ming Tao. Ming Tao had not told her anything about Jia Hao being missing so she was stunned to hear that. "W. . ." Mira began. "What does he mean by Jia Hao is missing?"
Ming Tao let out a sigh, he did not want Mira to know till he was found.
"Tell me, Ming Tao, what does he mean?"
Wei Jie tsk-ed. "Of course you want to pretend."
Mira shot him a glare. "You might hate me, but you are doing too much and stepping out of line, Wei Jie."
"You do not deserve to refer to me by my name, demon." Wei Jie said to her. Mira felt a shiver run down her spine at the harshness of his tone but she shrugged it off and focused her attention on Ming Tao.
"Please, tell me, what happened to the father of my children?" Mira pleaded. She sounded worried. Wei Jie raised a brow, he would have almost fallen for that worry if he did not know how diabolical Mira was.
"I am so sorry for not telling you before but I did not want you to worry." Ming Tao started. "Jia Hao did not leave to be with the ruling oracle. The ruling oracle are here in the cheetah clan so it would not have been possible for him to have gone. I suspect he has been lured into a trap. One your sister created and I have put people in place to find him."
