Chapter 43: Ch-43: Tier 2 Enemy
Consuming around 9000 mana points in an instant, Victor’s face turned pale, and due to the constant fierce consumption from the triple attack, he was forced to drink several mana recovery potions to restore his mana.
"This is still far from over," Victor mumbled as there were still thousands of zombies attacking them. Victor was glad they had no intelligence, or else it would have been far more difficult.
Despite wiping out the lives of thousands of zombies in just an instant, Victor was far from being satisfied.
Victor raised his hand to the sky, and the sky rumbled again—this time much more violently. For the next couple of minutes, Victor kept consuming mana recovery potions while keeping his palm directed toward the sky.
"This should be enough..." Victor mumbled as sweat beaded down his forehead. Then he turned into lightning and seemed to merge directly into the clouds.
"This... impossible!" one of the guards cried out in disbelief upon seeing the next scene.
"No wonder Warlocks are said to be closest to gods," the other guard repeatedly shook her head as she subconsciously took half a step back.
They all looked upward and saw at least a few dozen giant black axes descending toward the ground. It seemed like the end of the world had appeared.
Victor, after forming the giant axes of lightning, kept them above the clouds and continued forming more until he reached his limit. He could activate this only because of the natural lightning in the sky; otherwise, he would not have succeeded.
Under the shocked eyes of the soldiers, the Town Lord, and Daphne—
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!!!
Giant axes made of black lightning rained down on the battlefield at lightning speed, and when a wave of zombies was hit, it was incinerated in that very second. However, the most terrifying thing of all was that after turning the enemy to ashes, the lightning did not die out but began to sweep across the battlefield with mind-boggling ferocity. This was the area effect of the skill.
The battlefield became a living hell for the enemy, causing the earth to rumble louder and louder.
"This..." Daphne watched the scene in front of her with her eyes wide open.
The Lord sucked in a breath of cold air as he watched the zombies being destroyed by the lightning, mercilessly obliterating everything.
"He is not a normal Warlock at all."
The pupils of the Lord trembled violently as he looked at the scene before him with his mouth slightly open as he muttered in a low voice. He had seen a few Warlocks and knew how powerful they were, and sure, they could achieve the same level of destruction as Victor—but Victor was still just at Tier 0, which he had sensed, and he should not be able to cast such powerful attacks, not to mention the mana it would require. He had just one word to describe him ’Monster’
"Huff... huff..." Victor panted as he landed on the building and took heavy breaths.
"Senior, are you alright?" Daphne said as she stepped forward to support Victor.
Victor felt something soft press against his arm and looked at her blushing face, then shot a weird look at her father, but the Lord seemed to nod heavily as if approving her actions.
Even though Victor liked women, he had no interest in Daphne. There were much more beautiful women; Daphne could not even be called beautiful if compared to true beauties, but she would definitely be considered top-tier on Earth.
"I am fine," Victor said as he gently moved away from her grasp, much to her disappointment.
Victor looked at the battlefield and still could not help but take a deep breath as he saw the devastation of his skill. No wonder the Purgatory Lightning Bloodline was considered one of the strongest offensive bloodlines according to the Akashic Records. The land was completely destroyed and replaced by craters, with some charred corpses of zombies lying on the ground that had not been completely obliterated by his attack.
[Territory Lord is being summoned]
[10...9...]
"Oh shit," Victor hurriedly started chugging health and mana recovery potions, much to the onlookers’ confusion.
"Senior Victor, is everything alright?" the Lord asked.
"The Territory Lord is coming," Victor said, and everyone’s expression changed instantly.
"Heavens, how did I forget?" The Lord’s face turned paper white. Just the army had been overwhelming—now he dreaded how powerful the boss would be.
[Zombie Winged Knight has been summoned]
As soon as the text appeared, Victor frowned as he felt a pressure descend.
"Ugh..."
Victor looked and saw the others had dropped to their knees under the pressure, except for the Lord. The Lord walked in front of the group and, even though he was trembling with fear, he shielded them from the pressure, allowing them to relax a bit.
Victor’s danger sense suddenly warned him of something, and he instantly turned into lightning and vanished from the spot—but it was in vain, as he felt something strike his stomach and he was sent flying a considerable distance through the air.
He looked at the creature, which had three wings made of rotten flesh flapping in the air. It wore completely green knight armor, stained with blood and rust.
Victor looked at the details of the zombie, and his forehead broke out in a cold sweat.
[Zombie Winged Knight]
[Level: 209]
[Health: 20,000]
[Attack: 3000]
[Speed: 2000]
[Drops: None]
[Note: Defeat it once to claim the dungeon as your own]
Even though he should have been ecstatic at his luck, as he only needed to kill it once, he did not look happy at all but very tense.
Victor’s expression turned grim when he saw the stats and cursed, No wonder I barely defeated it in the fate information.
Non-Warlock humans at Tier 2 would barely cross 300 in stats, and only Warlocks would surpass that threshold. But monsters and other races would get stats double or even higher compared to human Warlocks at the same tier. However, Territory Lords and dungeon bosses were completely different, as they received insane boosts like the Zombie Winged Knight.
Victor looked at his own health, which had been reduced significantly with that one strike. If not for his defense, another 1000 points would have been lost.
[Health: 9000 / 11000]
Victor was thinking about how to get out of his predicament when he remembered, ’Right, how did I forget?’
Victor’s lips curled up as he watched the Zombie Knight charge at him. The speed was almost double his own—even with the boost from the One with Lightning skill, he could not dodge, though he did not plan to.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
"Finally," Victor said as he watched his health drop below half.
[Health: 5000 / 11000]
Suddenly, his body was covered by a red hue as a new notification appeared.
[Health has dropped below 50%]
[Berserker Bloodline has been activated]
[All stats boosted by 100% temporarily]
This time, Victor could clearly follow the movements and retaliated.
He threw a punch at the knight, sending it flying back. The creature was about to charge again but saw three black serpents made of lightning rushing toward it. It did not have time to react.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Zombie Knight was covered in explosions and consumed by them.
Gulp.
The crowd below swallowed hard as they watched Victor get injured by the attack of the Winged Knight, unable to react in time.
It’s over... Tier 2 is too much for a Tier 0 Warlock, he thought, but the next second his eyes almost popped out when he saw the Zombie Knight emerge from the smoke with two of its wings destroyed.
The Zombie Knight remained still for a few seconds in the same position, as if studying Victor in front of it. Even after that powerful attack, it did not seem deterred.
Then the creature attacked again, punching Victor at high speed, while Victor tracked it’s movements with his skill.
Victor raised his forearm to block the strike and responded with a Black Lightning Claw to the creature’s abdomen which made it roar in pain.
But the creature was not intimidated. It threw new punches and sword slashes at Victor, and Victor responded the same way with punches and black serpents. A flurry of blows was exchanged between the two. Amidst the chaos, the entire place trembled, and each explosion generated a powerful gust of wind.
30 minutes later
"Damn, this was the closest I have been to death," Victor said as he was covered in injuries and chugged a health potion.
"It’s over," Victor said as the Zombie Knight knelt on the ground, heavily injured, with its wings destroyed and unable to move.
Victor raised his hand and activated his skill, and a giant black axe descended onto the knight, consuming it entirely.
BOOM!
[Ding Dong]
[You have defeated the Territory Lord, Zombie Winged Knight]
[You have conquered the Dungeon: Apocalyptic World]
