Chapter 289: Ch-289: Titan
Woosh!
Everyone who was fighting suddenly stopped when they saw a pillar of white flames rising from the stage. The next moment, everyone’s eyes widened in fear, and their faces turned pale when they saw a wave of flames rushing toward them.
"No!"
"Shit, I’m not even part of Cipher! What is that guy doing? Is he trying to burn us along with the entire venue?"
Many eyes widened in horror as they started screaming at Victor.

"Huff... huff, I am going to faint." Rachel’s face turned grim, and then her expression changed.
"Where is the poison going?" Andrew said with shock.
Olivia, who was silent, suddenly shouted, "Watch out!"
"What!" everyone exclaimed when they saw the white flames charge toward them and envelop them.
Woosh! Woosh!
The white flames instantly enveloped Olivia, Rachel, and Andrew, and they felt a warm sensation on their bodies.
"Damn, I am going to die, I am going to die!" Comical tears appeared in Rachel’s eyes as she kept repeating the words like a broken record.
"Shut up, Rachel." Olivia had veins popping out on her forehead as she listened to Rachel’s rambling and frowned when she looked at her boys and thought, ’I did not know his flames had a healing effect.’
"Huh, I am not dead, and I am healed?" Rachel said with bulging eyes.
"It seems it’s not only useful for..." Andrew said as he saw white flames around his body.
Woosh!
The white flames swept across the crowd under the panicked and horrified gazes of the people, but after a few seconds, the outcome they had feared did not happen at all.
"Hey, what’s wrong? How come I’m still alive?"
"I’m not burning?"
"Are we already dead that we don’t feel any pain?"
"This... hey, look closely—the poison! It’s getting neutralized!"
"What?!"
"Heavens, it’s true!"
The crowd, who had been fearful just moments ago, now wore looks of disbelief as instead of being burned by the flames, their injuries were being healed.

"Great, he healed everyone," Valerie said as she saw the flames healing the crowd with relief.
Step. Step.
"Hey, are you all right?" Valerie and Amber looked at the entrance and saw Ruby and Ellie enter their booth.
"How did you know we were here?" Valerie asked with narrowed eyes.
"We saw Victor jumping from the booth," Ruby said as she rolled her eyes and turned to look at Victor.
"!!!" Valerie, who was looking at Victor with admiration, suddenly felt a chill run down her spine, and her heart gave a jolt as she felt a sense of danger.
BOOOM!
"What the hell is going on?" Ellie, who had just regained his bearings after getting healed, almost fell on his buttocks when the sound of a huge blast rang out from outside the venue, causing the whole building to shake.
Roar!
Everyone’s scalps prickled at the sound of the roar, and they felt as if some kind of ancient beast had awakened from its slumber.
"What the hell was that? Damn, don’t tell me there has been a dungeon break?" Ruby asked, this time with eyes filled with frustration.
"I don’t think that’s the case, or the mana around the place would have shot through the roof," Amber said calmly, as when dungeons appear, the mana density within a radius of more than a kilometer increases, but she did not sense any such phenomenon.
"Then what was that roar?" Valerie asked nervously.
"Maybe Cipher left a present," Amber said, and everyone’s lips twitched at her casualness.
Bang!
Another shockwave hit the venue.
"Shit, I have a bad feeling about this," Ruby said in a slightly nervous voice, as she could sense danger coming from a certain direction.
Thud.
"Everyone all right?" Victor landed on the booth, turned his head, and asked everyone.
"Yeah, we’re fine, but what’s going on outside?" Valerie nodded.
"Only one way to find out," Victor said as he vanished from the stage with the gang.
---
Roar!
As soon as Victor, Amber, Valerie, Ruby, and Ellie were about to step outside the venue, they were met by a loud roar and people screaming and fleeing.
"Ah, a monster!"
"Run, or else we’ll die!"
"The city is done for!" Panicked screams rang across the streets.
"Hey, what’s going on?" Ruby grabbed one of the men who was running, but the man was still flailing and struggling to escape his grasp.
Smack!
Ruby directly smacked him on the head, snapping the man out of his panic.
"M-Monster!" the man stuttered.
"Why are all of you running like this? What was that beastly roar?" Ellie asked from the side nervously.
Bang!
Everyone’s eyes snapped toward the source of the sound as the entire ground shook and dust clouds rose in the distance.
"R-Right, there is a huge monster that suddenly appeared and is rampaging through the city. It has already destroyed many buildings and killed many Awakeners," the man said.
Roar!
Everyone’s heads snapped toward the source of the sound, and their pupils constricted to the size of needles.
"What the hell is that?" Everyone except Victor and Amber felt their legs go weak when they saw the gigantic, titan-sized black monster and felt a deep terror rise from within their very souls.
"This..." Valerie stammered as her eyes moved from the large titan to the ground, which was littered with the corpses of guards and pedestrians. Some of the guards Valerie recognized and had spoken with just a few hours ago were now lying there as corpses.
"Oh, you guys are late," a mocking voice full of disdain rang out.
Valerie looked at the source, her pupils shrinking, and asked through gritted teeth, "Julian, are you responsible for this?"
"I did, so what?" Julian said calmly.
"Bastard!" Ruby, who maintained an elegant and noble image and rarely cursed, was now spouting curses without restraint. She was furious at the death and destruction before her.
"Julian, you bastard, don’t you care about the Walker Family? Because of you, they will be scrutinized and cursed," Ellie said.
"Care? Nope. I only care about my new allegiance—Cipher. The Walker Family can die for all I care; they don’t treat their members as human," Julian said indifferently, with ice in his voice.
"Is it because our engagement got canceled?" Valerie asked with a mocking tone, and Julian’s face turned cold as he said, "I don’t care anymore. You can go and whine to the world, bitch."
"You..." Valerie’s face flushed with anger.
"All right, I’ll be taking my leave. Try to survive so we can meet again in the future," Julian said.
"Hmph, do you think you can just leave after causing so much destruction?" Ruby said as she activated her skill, along with Valerie and Ellie.
"Die!" they shouted as they charged forward, but before they could get too close, their pupils contracted, and they hurriedly moved to the side.
Boom!
A huge black fist crashed into the crowd, with the titan’s fist embedded in the ground, blocking anyone from reaching Julian.
Gulp.
Valerie swallowed a mouthful of saliva upon seeing the titan.
"Now, now, let’s not get too hasty," Julian’s mocking voice rang out. "I know you’re eager to exchange blows with me, but I don’t have time for your childish antics."
"You’re childish—your mother is childish!" Ellie cursed as veins bulged on his forehead, but he was helpless as a white light covered Julian’s body and he vanished. What was more infuriating was that Julian even gave him an arrogant smirk.
Step. Step.
"Miss Valemont, Miss Scarlet, are you all right?" Awakeners from the Scarlet and Valemont Families rushed toward them to escort them back.
"Yeah—quick, dodge!" Valerie was about to ask something else, but her eyes widened when she saw the titan hurl a fist at them.
Bang!
When they heard her words, they looked up, but their bodies were already shadowed by a huge fist coming down on them. Only a few escaped, while the rest exploded into a mist of blood.
"Ice Sword!" Amber said as she launched an ice sword at the fist descending toward the group.
"What... impossible... shit!" She had expected her strike to sever the fist or at least injure it, but to her horror, it only struck the crashing fist without causing any damage, merely managing to pause it before it continued descending toward them. She could tell it was just a Tier 2 and should not have been able to withstand her attack. That momentary lapse gave both of them time to dodge.
Bang!
Both Ruby and Valerie looked at the small crater with pale faces, sweat dripping down as they thought, ’If that had hit us... we would be dead.’
Just as Victor was about to say something, his pupils shrank to the size of needles.
"Victor!" Amber shouted when the titan flung Victor to the side.
"Ugh!" Victor grunted as he was flung a distance away, feeling as though he had been struck by a mountain. He spat out blood.
