Chapter 288: Ch-288: Victor takes Action

In the next moment, when Valerie was about to attack him, she suddenly felt her head spinning, her vision becoming blurry, and her body losing strength.

Victor turned to look and saw that Amber beside him was also clutching her head, looking quite abnormal.

He looked at the others in the crowd and saw many unexpectedly sitting down on the ground. Likewise, they appeared to be acting strangely.

"How are you both feeling?" Victor asked Amber and Valerie.

"We have been poisoned," Amber said as she shook her head, struggling to stay conscious, her expression unusually serious.

"Damn it, I didn’t expect him to have this Vicious Bloodline. The space here has been sealed, and they might have released poison gas into the air," Valerie said. She was faring much better due to being farther away.

"Damn it, what kind of poison is this?" Valerie said as she felt her movements become sluggish as soon as she was enveloped by the purple mist. Suddenly, her pupils constricted when she saw multiple shadows move past her.

Woosh! Woosh!

Dozens of figures appeared before Victor and his group, and their eyes darkened when they saw the corpses of Athena. They did not say anything and immediately surrounded Victor.

"I didn’t expect to stumble upon two Tier 1 Awakeners, but no matter—we have come prepared for variables," Victor said calmly.

The Black Church did not say anything and brought two vials, hurling them toward Victor, which shattered upon impact.

Bang!

Victor watched the vials explode as purple mist surged from them and quickly enveloped him.

"Good, got him." The leader of the group’s eyes lit up in joy.

Before he could say anything, a chill shot down his spine when he heard Victor whisper in his ear, making his hair stand on end. "Was that supposed to do anything?"

He jumped to the side and looked at Victor, who had appeared in his original position.

"Isn’t that his armor?" Mayne muttered as she looked at him, noticing the small white Jörmungandr Armor only covering his finger.

’The armor is really effective,’ Victor muttered. When the poison was unleashed, Victor had donned his armor and only covered his hands, not revealing his body, as Faceless also used it, and if anyone saw it except Valerie and Amber, he would be exposed. The armor proved its effectiveness as it made him immune to the poison attack.

"How are you still moving like this? Even dozens of Tier 1s would be affected by one of them," exclaimed a member of Cipher, then shouted urgently, "Quickly toss all of them! I refuse to believe he can stay unaffected if you dump all of the poison bombs on him."

The others snapped out of their stupor and tossed the orbs one after another.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

One after another, the vials exploded, and the purple mist became even thicker, obscuring their view. The next moment, screams rang out from the mist.

"Ahhhh!"

"No, my hand!"

"Damn, his head got severed!"

The others who heard the screams felt a tremor in their hearts, and the survivors felt a chill run down their spines.

"Damn, does he have some kind of Bloodline or item that resists poison? What rotten luck." That was the only plausible reason he could come up with.

"Ugh—"

Before he could do anything, he choked as he felt a sharp pain in his throat, and in the next moment, he collapsed lifelessly.

"All right, that’s the last of them," Victor said as he wiped the blood off his dagger.

Victor looked around and saw that the whole place was covered by a thin veil of purple-pink mist.

"Let’s first clear the booth," Victor mumbled.

He closed his eyes and activated the neutralizing effect of the Armor as a suction force erupted from his body.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, the purple mist flowed toward the partial Armor like a black hole sucking in light and entered it.

"Hey, you two okay?" Victor asked Amber and Valerie.

"Yeah, but I did not expect a Bloodline like that could affect me," Amber said with disbelief. This was the first time a resident of Earth had managed to harm her.

"Yeah, I will be fine, but I feel like throwing up," Valerie said with a pale face, hunching over a chair.

"I will go help the others," Victor said as the girls nodded their heads in agreement.

Back at the stage

Clang! Clang!

"Damn, this poison effect is hindering my movements," the host said as she was surrounded by a couple of members of Cipher. She could not even see clearly, as her vision was becoming fuzzy while she continued to block attacks from all sides, and each of their blows was actually fatal and could cripple her.

’I hope the guests are all right,’ the host thought nervously. This was her main concern. If anything happened to them, it would fall on her shoulders, and she would be ruined.

Thud.

The host instantly raised her guard when she saw Victor jumping toward the platform.

"Who are you?" The host frowned upon seeing Victor. He did not reply as he activated the Armor’s power, and all the poison was sucked in from the auction hall under the woman’s disbelieving eyes.

"How?!" the host exclaimed in disbelief.

"Well, it’s not over yet," Victor said with a smirk.

Victor closed his eyes, and the white flame slowly flickered onto his fingertips, growing to the size of a fist before stopping.

Woosh!

"Hmm, it should work," Victor muttered, then looked at the host, who was the closest to him and was fighting a pincer attack from the members of Cipher.

He took a deep breath, controlled the white flame, and hurled it toward the host.

"Huff... huff." The host had no time to pay any attention to Victor anymore, as the ones attacking her were striking with even more ferocity, as they felt a genuine threat of death from Victor, which did not make sense, as they were Tier 1 while Victor was Tier 0 in their eyes.

The host glared at them with gritted teeth. She knew she would not last much longer due to her depleted mana and health. However, her eyes furrowed when she saw them suddenly stop.

"Huh? What’s wrong?" the host said when she saw their eyes suddenly widen in panic as they looked behind her and then hurriedly leaped away from her. "Is something—shit!"

The host’s eyes widened in panic and disbelief when she saw Victor hurling white flames toward her, the flames flying straight at her position.

"I’m dead." The host closed her eyes as she saw looming death. She did not have time to dodge the flames and accepted her fate. "Damn, if I knew I was dying today, I would have at least lost my virginity and experienced the pleasure of flesh."

Woosh!

The white flames directly enveloped her body and the members of Cipher.

"Is she dead?"

"I thought we weren’t going to kill her."

"Yeah, who would have expected her to die at the hands of one of the customers?"

"The more handsome or beautiful they are, the more sinister they become."

The attackers began gossiping among themselves while shooting confused and wary looks at Victor.

"Huh, why can’t I feel any pain?" The host was confused, as other than a warm sensation, she did not feel any pain at all. Furrowing her eyebrows, she opened her eyes and looked at herself.

The white, translucent flames were still covering her body, and under her shocked gaze, she saw that the injuries on her body were healing at a visible rate. She also felt the poison in her body slowly being cleansed.

"What?" she exclaimed in surprise, and within the next few seconds, she felt the poison in her body completely vanish. She thought, ’Just what kind of flame is this?’

"Ahhhh!"

"Shit!"

The next moment, the host saw a flash of a figure followed by the screams of the attackers near her, with heads flying into the air.

"All right, done," Victor said as he calmly stood beside the woman.

Gulp.

The host swallowed a mouthful of saliva, seeing how nonchalantly Victor killed the others.

"Now then," Victor said as he looked at the crowd, and the white flames on his palms started to tremble.

Woosh!

Everyone who was fighting suddenly stopped when they saw a pillar of white flames rising from the stage. The next moment, everyone’s eyes widened in fear, and their faces turned pale when they saw a wave of flames rushing toward them.

"No!"

"Shit, I’m not even part of Cipher! What is that guy doing? Is he trying to burn us along with the entire venue?"

Many eyes widened in horror as they started screaming at Victor.

"Huff... huff, I am going to faint." Rachel’s face turned grim, and then her expression changed.

"Where is the poison going?" Andrew said with shock.

Olivia, who was silent, suddenly shouted, "Watch out!"

"What!" everyone exclaimed when they saw the white flames charge toward them and envelop them.
