My Milf Conqueror System

Chapter 294: Return

The flight back to Macau was quiet.

I sat in the plush leather seat of the Gulfstream, watching the lights of Singapore fade behind us as we climbed over the South China Sea. The city was a grid of neon bleeding into black water, and somewhere down there four Imperial Shadows were probably still coughing Halon out of their lungs. Wondering how a billionaire had military-grade security and a federal response timer.

Let them wonder.

I slept for two hours. Vanguard conditioning. Drop into deep REM on command, wake up with zero grogginess and full situational awareness. It was the only way to stay functional running on 4 hours across 3 time zones. The adrenaline was still in my system, but my body knew how to shut it off.

When I woke up we were already descending. The Pearl River delta spread out below us. Macau looked small from up here. Like a board I'd just finished playing on. The Wynn, the Jade Palace, the Outer Harbour. All of it painted in red.

I landed at Macau International Airport at 7:12 AM. Sunrise was hitting the water, turning it gold.

I didn't go to the Wynn. No penthouse. No Julian Croft. Not today.

I took a secure, unmarked car directly to the safehouse in the Outer Harbour. Tinted windows. Three different routes. Claire was running counter-surveillance the whole way, sweeping for tails and drones.

I shed the Julian Croft persona the moment I walked through the heavy steel doors. Suit off. Watch off. Encrypted phone off. Stepped back into the grounded, lethal reality of Noah Reed. The man who didn't exist on paper.

Li was waiting in the tactical command center. She looked exhausted. Dark circles under her eyes. Hair pulled back. Same clothes from yesterday. But she stood up quickly when I entered, like a soldier snapping to attention.

"The Shadows?" she asked, her voice tight.

"They took the bait," I said, dropping my canvas bag onto the floor. "They breached the Singapore office, stole the fabricated data, and retreated when the automated security triggered. The Empress thinks she successfully robbed a billionaire."

Li exhaled. Like she'd been holding her breath for 24 hours. Her shoulders dropped an inch. For the first time since we started this war, she looked like she could breathe.

"Will she retaliate?" Ethan asked, handing me a cup of black coffee. Black. No sugar. He knew.

"No," I said, taking a sip. It was bitter. Good. "She got what she wanted. She verified that Julian Croft is real, and she verified that his security is too heavy to probe casually. She'll back off the legitimate network. She won't risk Singapore PD or Interpol over a ghost. That would expose her own reach."

I looked at the digital map of Macau on the primary monitor. The northern and southern districts were shaded in the Golden Koi's colors. Deep red. The Four Dragons were completely erased from the board. No territories. No men. No money. Just us.

"The cold war is over," I said softly.

"We won?" Li asked, a hesitant, fragile hope in her voice. Like she didn't dare believe it yet. Like saying it out loud would break it.

"We survived the scrutiny," I corrected. "But the Empress doesn't tolerate rivals. She allowed us to dismantle the Four Dragons because it served her purposes. Cleaned up her backyard for free. Now, we are the only power left in the lower districts. We are too big to ignore, and too dangerous to leave unchecked."

The room went quiet. The AC hummed. The servers whirred.

Nia was typing in the corner, wiping the last logs from Singapore. Claire was watching the exterior feeds. No movement. No probes. For now, we had peace.

My burner phone vibrated on the steel table.

The sound cut through the room like a blade.

Encrypted. Untraceable. The number rotated every 72 hours. Only one person had this one.

I looked at the caller ID. Unknown. But I knew.

I answered it, putting it on speaker.

The command center went dead silent. Even the AC sounded loud.

"Noah Reed," the smooth, melodic voice of Empress Song Mei echoed through the room.

Li stiffened, her eyes widening. Her hand went to the table edge. Ethan instinctively reached for his rifle and then stopped himself. Nia stopped typing.

"Madam Song," I replied, my voice perfectly flat. No Julian. No deference. Just me.

"You have been very efficient, Mr. Reed," the Empress said. She sounded pleased. Like a teacher with a good student. Like a general with a useful weapon. "The Iron Fists and the Jade Tigers have been completely dismantled. The lower districts are quiet. You have fulfilled the mandate I gave you in the Lotus Pavilion."

"The Golden Koi honors its agreements," I said.

"Indeed," Song Mei murmured. I could hear her smiling. "Such an unprecedented consolidation of power requires formal recognition. The Imperial Mountain wishes to officially acknowledge Matriarch Bai as the sole sovereign of the lower districts."

She paused. Letting the weight of it settle. Letting us sit in it. Letting Li understand what this meant.

"I am hosting a formal banquet at the Imperial compound tomorrow evening," she continued. "I expect Matriarch Bai to attend. And I expect her Head of Security to accompany her."

Another pause. This one was heavier.

"We will be there," I said.

"I look forward to it," the Empress replied. The line went dead.

No goodbye. No closing. Just silence.

I set the phone down on the steel table. The screen went black.

Li stared at it. The fragile hope in her eyes had vanished, replaced by a cold, terrifying realization. Her knuckles were white on the edge of the table.

"She is inviting me to the mountain," Li whispered. "To the Imperial compound. She has never invited a street-level Matriarch to the Imperial compound. Not in 20 years. Not since my father died."

The compound was a fortress. Surrounded by Imperial Guards. Full of Shadows. No weapons past the first checkpoint. No comms. No extraction.

"It's not a celebration," I said, setting the phone down. "It's the final phase of the game."
