Chapter 277: Awakened a Monster (2)
They heard footsteps coming from behind the podium where the two thrones sat. Then a man appeared.
Silver hair cascaded down his back like a waterfall, dark circles under his eyes and a look as if he was exhausted.
He was barefooted and walked with unsteady steps. Everybody could feel the unstable aura coming out of him.
Still, they had the illusion of the castle itself dancing with his presence like a puppy seeing its master.
He stood in front of them then turned and climbed up the stairs. He leaned in and kissed the woman on the throne.
" So, what’s happening here, who the hell are these guys?" He still sounded sleepy yet his voice made the three of them nervous.
" They’re agents from the organisation, apparently they were sent here to kill us." She answered.
" I see, my esper is still unstable and I’ve only formed one of my domains but that should be enough."
Siri and the two men looked at each other, his words made no sense, formed one of his domain, isn’t there only one?
The three of them have never met nor heard of anybody possessing the area domain and the warrior’s domain so their confusion was understandable.
Another woman showed up and went on her knees, " Greetings my lord, it is my pleasure to see you’ve awakened."
The man turned and looked at the woman kneeling below the two thrones. " Mmmm." That was his answer.
It lacked any enthusiasm as if he didn’t even acknowledge her but the woman wasn’t disappointed.
She bowed even lower, her body vibrating from excitement. " Boss, We’re glad to see you okay." The others greeted him.
" Man, took you long enough, we almost died." One of the wolves talked more casually contrary to the rest.
As for the maid, she joined the other woman but she didn’t kneel, she bowed her heard very low and so did the butler but neither said anything.
’ Perfect servants.’ that was Siri’s evaluation of them, they were perfect servants in every way.
Loyal to a fault and so respectful they don’t talk unless talken to of course that was not true but she didn’t know that.
Fred and Suzie have learnt to read Adrian, it wasn’t that they didn’t talk unless talken to, they just know when to talk.
And right now, beneath that calm face they could see a raging storm about to explode and the fools behind them would be the first to face it.
Adrian really felt tired, he had just broken through to level 7 and before he could stabilise his power.
A domain disturbed him, the rebound from being disturbed ravaged his entire esper veins so he was reasonably pissed.
The pale and fatigued look was not a joke, his internal esper was in turmoil but that didn’t matter.
He would kill these three even if meant damaging himself even more. Suddenly he felt esper gather behind him.
One of them was using an ability and it emitted a similar aura to what he could feel on Annie’s wound.
’ Wound?’ he looked down and finally noticed the hole on her chest which was closing rapidly.
However there was a type of esper around that hole preventing the wound from healing fast enough.
" You’re wounded." She nodded but smiled like it was nothing, he could see the pain she was trying to hide.
She was not him, they were not certain before but it seems losing her heart wasn’t enough to kill her.
However it still damaged her more than it did him, even the healing wound was merely closing the hole.
The heart itself would take longer to heal back. Adrian’s eyes turned colder. BOOOOOM, the entire castle shook.
Everybody turned their heads and saw the woman embedded on the wall coughing up blood, a tiny shield shattered into fragments.
Chains bound her body and pressed her tightly against the silver walls of the castle, nobody had seen what happened.
Siri herself looked surprised, she hadn’t even felt him using any teleportation, ’ Void tunneling, it’s more powerful than the one used by the castle before.’
The horizon break she had been preparing had dissolved into thin air. Cold silver eyes met hers.
She briefly saw an illusion of a giant moon falling on her. She body shook with fear then she took a deep breath.
’ Calm down, he’s just a level 7 Fayera, nothing to fear, besides we’re inside my domain.’
She felt a bit more confident knowing they were inside her domain, she couldn’t see herself losing to him here.
’ He just caught me off guard before but next time.’ Siri told herself, everything happened in a split second.
The other two finally reacted but before they could attack Adrian was already gone, he appeared in front of Siri with his fangs next to her neck.
Her eyes opened wide and for a brief moment she felt a wave of fear and the cold hand if death.
Immediately she activated her ability and teleported next to the other two and took all three out of the castle.
Render and Ben looked at her with confusion, beads of sweat fell down her back soaking her clothes.
" What’s wrong with you, don’t tell me you were scared of by that dog?" Render mocked her.
Siri had no time nor interest to argue with him, it’s not like she could explain it herself but she could swear.
When his fangs were close to her neck she saw a grim reaper standing in front of her waiting.
She knew grim reapers were real, for somebody of her level, seeing spirits like grim reapers was possible under certain conditions.
The most common being close to death, " Be careful, he’s much more dangerous than his partner." She warned them.
" Even if he’s that strong, he just broke through level 7 and his power is unstable, he shouldn’t be able to threaten us." Ben argued.
" If you’re thinking in terms of pure power then you’d be right but we’re Espara, you of all people should know abilities matter the most on battle.
Don’t forget the warning from the elders, don’t let them bite you. I think these wolves have venom, potent venom that can threaten us.
Combined with his ability to teleport right next to us, it doesn’t matter that his realm is unstable." She argued.
The other two frowned but Render’s expression made it clear he didn’t believe her.
He couldn’t comprehend being threatened by what he considered a dog, especially one an entire level below him.
Suddenly he felt a presence behind him, " Your esper is too thick, getting close is hard." A sleepy voice whispered in his ear.
Bang, before he could react a massive sword landed on his ribs.
