Chapter 97: Karon Returns (2)
Lokna licked his lips and prepared to attack but before he could he heard a bark, then a yellow dog jumped out of the car.
Lokna sensed a terrifying aura from this dog, he saw Karon muttering under his breath then frowned.
Karon had just tried to command the hell hound even though he knew the the mark of dominance had been erased long ago.
Seeing a creature he had went to so much trouble to create acting like a loyal dog to a mere human was devastating.
" I’ll come tomorrow, you can go detective, I still need to clean my house." That statement sounded innocent.
However Sanchez understood its meaning but that made her refuse to leave even more.
" I need to take the statement tonight Mr Karon, if we don’t, we might never be able to solve the case."
She insisted and Karon turned towards her, " Stop playing a fool detective, we both know who did this."
Sanchez’s expression did not change, " I don’t know what you’re talking about but I’m willing to listen if you have Intel.
Now, I ask again, could you and your people follow me to the station so I can help solve the case and get you justice?"
This made Karon frustrated, before he could say anything the door opened and two teenagers embracing each other came out.
" Yoh, sick drip dudes, are you also here for the party?" The boy asked, he looked about the same age as Adrian.
Seeing these teenagers, Sanchez finally remembered that Adrian was a mere child, sometimes she forgets.
Karon looked at the two and smiled, " Indeed we are." He replied and the boy gave him a salute and went to the back of the house with his girlfriend.
One vampire tried to follow them but felt a feeling of death overwhelm him, he saw Sanchez pointing a gun at him.
Of course that was not the threat, the dog next to her was glaring at him with hungry eyes.
" You two, stop right there." She shouted and the two teenagers came to stop, it was only then that they noticed her car and badge.
" Oh shit a cop, We’re sorry officer, we’re not going to do it again." The girl apologised and giggled.
They were too drunk to even care about consequences. She shook her head. " It Isn’t me you should be apologising to.
This here is the owner of the house, imagine going on a vacation only to come back to your house being destroyed by others?
Go tell everybody to pack their shits and get out right now before I send you all to jail." She flashed her badge threatening the teenagers.
They scrambled to get inside but Karon raised his hand, he flashed them a smile.
" Do not mind the detective. I happen to quite enjoy parties, you and your friends can stay the night.
Besides, me and my friends haven’t had a meal in quite some time, it would be a pity for the party to end before we could eat don’t you think?"
" Oh riiight? I knew you were a cool dude, come in there’s plenty of food inside." The boy suggested loudly.
" Oh I know, I can smell it." Karon smiled and watched the kids rushing back inside probably to tell the others.
" Stop!" Sanchez shouted and the two teenagers stopped but they looked annoyed.
’ These fools.’ she thought. " I told you to pack your shit and leave this property."
" What’s your problem lady? The man said it was fine and this is his house so buzz off." The teenage girl rebuked angrily.
" You lot sneaked into somebody’s property without permission, that’s breaking and entering.
You’ve commited a crime, I had planned to let you go but you’ve forced my hands, you’re all under arrest."
" But detective, I have not filed a report, besides, who said they didn’t have my permission?" Karon asked.
This made Sanchez grit her teeth, she didn’t want to let kids die at the hands of these monsters.
But her hands were tied, she couldn’t fight vampires and Fluffy also couldn’t fight so many by herself.
The door opened slightly and she caught the silhouette of a certain figure and froze, she was just about to leave but this changed things.
She immediately took her phone and made a call, when Karon heard who she was talking to he felt his blood boil.
He was just about to attack when multiple figures appeared from the forest, leading them was a middle aged man.
" Karon. How unpleasant to see you again, I almost celebrated thinking you died on a ditch somewhere, what a pity."
" Director, it’s also not a pleasure to see you, mind telling me what the dogs of the organisation are doing in my house?"
The director looked at him with cold eyes, " Seeing you bringing such a large army, I was just wondering what you’re planning to do."
Karon laughed, " This is just for my own safety, as you know, wild dogs have been running lose lately.
None of us can be certain of our own safety, you can’t blame me for bringing bodyguards now would you?"
He smiled, the director still looked at him with cold eyes. " I hope you don’t do anything foolish, I will not let you threaten my city."
Karon laughed even louder, " Your city, you’re a funny man director, I didn’t know this city now belongs to you."
The director didn’t respond to that, " I hope you remember your place Karon." The director threatened.
Karon stopped laughing, his eyes turned cold. " Are you threatening me director? Are you sure that’s a wise thing to do?"
This made the director and the agents he brought tense up. They could feel the air became electric.
Even Fluffy reacted, she growled and flickers of fire appeared around her body, Sanchez brushed her neck to calm her down.
" Are you sure you want to take action here Karon? You do know the consequences of revealing our world do you not?"
Karon grinned, " Who will live to tell?" His aura blazed and just as he was about to move, everybody felt the temperature drop.
Fluffy started wagging her tail happily and she barked. Everybody looked around but saw nothing.
Karon suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder and a figure appeared next to him like a ghost.
His blood froze and fear gripped his heart. " Now, that’s a good question isn’t it?" A cold voice reached ears.
