Chapter 96: Karon Returns
Adrian was standing on the roof of Annie’s house, he could hear her arguing with her mother.
He had contemplated meeting her multiple times over the months but stopped himself. Right now he had a lot of enemies.
Already she had been involved because of him, he couldn’t risk her any further so he settled for just watching over her.
’ This definitely does not make me a creep, I’m watching over h...huh?’ he paused, his nose caught a strong scent of blood.
" Vampires." He growled, Suki and Athi appeared next to him. " Don’t leave her side, blood is about to flow."
He took to the sky and flew back to Sanchez’s house. " Awoooo!" He howled to the sky, his howl pierced through the entire city.
Every werewolf regardless of where they were within the city of Lagos heard him and ran towards his location.
With the exception of Suki and Athi, the original twelve plus Sam were the first to arrive.
Threes months ago he had given them his heart blood turning them into Gemma rank werewolves.
They stood in front of him and bowed, before long the other werewolves arrived and they all went on one knee.
Adrian had gotten used to this, perhaps it was because they were created by another werewolf.
They had more reverence for him than the ones created by himself, he supposed this was the feeling people had when they met their boss’s boss.
Except it was even higher for him, he was basically their God. Adrian sat down and tapped his finger on the table.
In front of him stood 11 Gemma rank werewolves and 16 Omega ranks, a strong force indeed.
" Have you felt it?" The omega werewolves raises their eyebrows, the Gemma ranks were different though.
Their senses were much higher, while the feeling was faint they were still able to smell the scent of iron in the air.
They knew powerful vampires were around and as the first werewolves in the pack, they knew all about the conflict.
" Sam, Charlie, John, Marcus, Alex, Fred, Sbu, Melissa and Louis, I want the 10 of you to hunt down the level 2 vampires.
Suzie, I need you to go assist Suki and Athi in protecting Annie, if something you can’t handle shows up, call me."
These were the 13 Gemma werewolves in total, even though they weren’t level 2 yet, their ranks were too high.
Even baron vampires at level 2 would have a hard time dealing with them, let alone plebeian vampires.
They nodded, " Go." They all set out and spread through his territory and waited for the vampires to attack.
" Are you sure things are going to be alright?" Sanchez asked after the others had left.
Adrian nodded, " Don’t worry, they’re not going to touch you." He stood up to leave.
" Wait." She stopped him, he felt her heart beating faster, she clenched her fists and gritted her teeth.
" I..." She tried to speak but the words wouldn’t come out, Adrian of course knew what she wanted to ask.
" You should call your parents, they must be worried after so long without communication."
Sanchez froze then smiled bitterly, " Be safe, my wellbeing is now tied to you being alive." She told him and went to the kitchen.
Adrian shook his head and left, he went back home and waited.

Outside the city, Karon had heard the howl and he immediately knew they had been discovered.
" He knows we’re here, we need to think out next moves carefully now." They had planned to ambush the werewolves while they were off guard but that was off the table now.
" What’s the fuss about lord Karon, with our numbers, why should we fear those little pups?"
One arrogant level 2 vampire asked, he was a plebian who had managed to reach level 2, he was an arrogant fool but his word made sense.
Karon looked at his army, this came from his family only, a hundred level 2 vampires and three hundred level 1.
This was only a fraction of his family’s power, plus the council promised to lend them some aid.
Not to mention the Ezell house is also supposed to send reinforcement, after all it was one of their own who had been killed.
The only one he knew nothing about was that Attar girl, the Attar household was too mysterious.
Not to mention he learnt it originated from a duke household, even if they were merely a baron branch.
Having relations to a duke meant their status was far beyond that of his Viscount family. He wondered if she would come too.
Lets move, the vampires marched into the city like an army preparing for war, their arrival alerted the other experts in the city.
Karon stood in front of his house, it hadn’t been touched in five months since he left, the holes on the roof were still there.
" Bastard." He cursed, he thought Adrian would leave his house once he figured Karon wasn’t there.
While the house wasn’t completely destroyed, it still had massive holes on its roof.
The other vampires whistled, " They sure did a number on your house lord Karon, how do you want to punish them?"
Lokna asked, he was the same vampire who told him not to worry. He had always been a free spirited guy.
Even though he was a subordinate, he didn’t speak to him with reverence like the others did.
While annoying, it was also a refreshing feeling. The one thing that annoyed Karon though.
There was a party in his house, teenagers were throwing a party in his house. Lokna was not talking about the werewolves when he said punish them.
He was talking about these human teenagers who were desecrating his house, " Ki.."
He paused, behind him a police car suddenly pulled up, Sanchez came out already holding her gun in her hand.
" Mr Karon, how nice of you to come back, would you come with me to the station? I need to take your statement about what happened here five months ago."
She walked towards him but he could see she was nervous and her eyes kept darting towards the teenagers partying.
Karon of course recognised this human detective, the moment he saw her he grew nervous.
He looked around searching for Adrian but didn’t see him then he relaxed and smiled at her.
" Detective, what perfect timing, we were just about to feast." He smiled revealing his sharp fangs.
