Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf

Chapter 98: Robbery

The vampiric council had kept its promise, this branch of the council was weak and situated at the corner of the vampire domain.

Normally they would need to consult a higher branch or the main council directly for issues involving a war.

However the soldiers you can participate in this war were merely level 2 at most, they could handle such small matters.

An army of five thousand stood below waiting for orders. A level 3 vampire floated above them like a god.

Vampires weren’t the type to motivate their armies, they believed any vampire that needed to be motivated to kill was a failure of their kind.

All the level 3 vampire did was issue an order to march. Crows as large as carriages descended from the sky.

On their backs were black tents that could block out the sun. The vampires rode these crows and headed for the mortal world.

None were worried, they had been briefed about their enemy and believed their victory was assured.

The house of Ezell also sent its own army, much smaller than the council but it still had 800 vampires.

Double the number sent by the house of Karon. In the sky, a figure floated in the dark clouds watching everything with an amused smile.

" Oh my, I wonder if you can deal with all of this?" She giggled and disappeared, after she left, four people appeared.

A woman clad in a dark cloak frowned but said nothing. The other three noticed nothing.

" Should we stop them?" The warlock asked but the woman shook her head.

" We have our own task, be quick, we don’t have much time." She snapped her fingers and the other three disappeared.

The next second, explosions could heard below and the mountain shook. The vampiric council reacted.

The strongest in this branch were the four level 4 council elders. They sensed the power of the enemies and personally took action.

As soon as those four left, a woman appeared inside the council hall, she walked slowly towards the back.

There stood a massive black door guarded by two vampires, they saw her but before they could react they lost their heads.

It was silent and clean as if they had been killed by a ghost. She took off a key from one of them and opened the door.

It led to an underground cavern below the mountain. This was the treasury of the vampirc council.

It’s where they kept their magical items and every dangerous thing that they did not want getting out.

Opening the vault would’ve been hard had she not been prepared. She cast a spell for two minutes straight.

For somebody of her level to need two minutes to cast a spell was a sign of how complicated that spell was.

Finally the vault clicked, the magical inscriptions in it let loose and it opened, she walked inside.

The entire vault was filled with treasures from gold, diamonds and rubies, she ignored all of them.

She walked to the back of the vault and went through a hidden door. ’ This is it.’ she thought.

She found herself in a room with shelves, there were fewer things here but each more precious than the last.

She had received an anonymous tip that what she seeks could be found here. She looked around but saw nothing of value to her.

" Did that bitch lie to me?" She whispered then saw a book. " Huh?" She could feel a slightly familiarity to it.

She opened it and realised it was diary, her diary to be exact. She smiled, this would be very useful.

She also took a few magical items she believed would be useful to her then left, she left the vault open.

A few seconds after she left, another feminine figure appeared and giggled. She touched the vault doors and her hand burnt.

" Ouch, you really went into a lot of trouble to keep me out of here you old farts." She went into the vault.

She ignored everything and went for a tiny piece of what looks like a fragment of a red amulet.

" I have to say, it was quite smart to hide it here, no sane person would think such an important thing would be placed in such a weak branch."

She giggled but she was forced to admit those old farts were smarter than she gave them credit for.

She never would’ve thought there would be a piece here, her finding out was purely coincidental.

Even then, a magical inscription that mimics the sun was placed on the vault making it impossible for any vampire to open forcefully.

Unfortunately, their plans failed, they made the mistake of placing something valued by another here.

It was only a matter of cooperation with that person and now, she had another piece of the amulet.

She also disappeared after taking it, the Vampiric Council elders returned, when they saw the dead guards they knew something was wrong.

They rushed down only to find the vault open and robbed. " Damnit!" They cursed, they were in big trouble.

The culprits were long gone by then. The cloaked woman or rather Meggie appeared near the edge of the vampire domain.

The other three appeared soon after, " Did you find what you were looking for?" The old witch asked.

" It’s not what I hoped it was but I did find something, lets go." They left the vampire domain.

By the time the main council reacted, it was already too late and before they could rest they received more bad news.

Their actions of sending an army to the mortal world had altered the Organisation which in return informed the high council.

They were told to pull back their army, the vampires were not above the high council which governed all Fayera,

When the council says you do something, you do it. They didn’t like it but they had no choice.

The army was forced to retreat before they even had the chance to fight. However not all of them.

According to the rules, as long as their numbers were below 1 000, it was fine and so they sent exactly 999 vampires and each one at level 2.
