Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf

Chapter 77: Personality Changes

This gorilla was not recorded in the book and based on its weak esper aura, it was certainly a Gadra that rose to level 2 recently

At the very least, less than 60 years ago. Adrain stood on a cliff watching them face each other below.

The gorilla was losing, it didn’t seem to have any powerful abilities except high physical strength.

The snake was different, not only was its esper more pure than the gorilla, it was larger and denser.

But what made it so much more dangerous was its ability to shoot water balls through its mouth.

The gorilla didn’t have a way to deal with that, the only reason it was still holding on was because it had thick skin.

While the water balls seemed like they hurt it, they didn’t cause much damage and these water balls packed a lot of power.

They were faster than bullets and everytime they hit the gorilla it sounded like a cannon exploding.

Adrain wondered how the supernatural world has been able to keep battles of this level a secret.

Any hiker would naturally hear this, he shook his head and stopped thinking about it and decided to join the fight.

Of course he could’ve waited for them to take each other down but not only did he disdain the cowardice behind that thought but he didn’t see where the fun was.

Ever since becoming a werewolf, he had realised his love for battle was growing little by little.

He grinned and jumped down a height of nearly 40 metres. His body descended like a comet and hit the ground with the force of a meteor.

The group between the two Gadra exploded sending stone flying like bullets. The dust cleared and he appeared standing in a four metre wide crater.

He stretched his neck and his bones cracked, both Gadra froze in confusion then roared in anger.

The snake opened its mouth creating a ball of water while the gorilla charged at him. He outstretched his right hand towards the snake.

Then he closed it into a fist causing the ball of water to explode on its face, his control over the water element far outclassed its own.

The gorilla reached him in that split second, its clasped its fists together and dropped a hammer fist on his head.

He knew he couldn’t match this thing in pure physical strength even in his true form until he reached level 2.

Yet instead of using his other abilities he chose to raise his left arm to block, of course he coated it with lunar energy.

BOOOOM, the ground below him shattered and a tremendous force traveled through his left arm and shattered his bones.

A wave of pain traveled through his left arm to his shoulder. He pulled back his right hand and formed a fist.

Silver lunar energy shined over the fist and he punched the gorilla on the stomach. His fist shattered the air.

DUUUM, when he hit the gorilla’s stomach it sounded like a drum and his fist failed to pierce through.

It kicked him and sent him flying tens of metres through the air, he broke through a dozen trees before rolling on the ground abd jumped to his knees.

He spit out blood and wiped his mouth but a grin didn’t leave his mouth, Adrain certainly had a better way to deal with them.

Yet, his mind refused to use it, he strangely wanted to fight the gorilla in close combat, as if he’s trying to prove his superiority.

The same went for the snake, since it was using water abilities, he wanted to use water abilities against it too.

Of course this feeling wasn’t overwhelming, he could defy them if he wanted to use and use his other abilities but he chose not to.

He stood up and stretched, his broken bones had already healed. " I’ve forgotten how good this feels." ’ huh?’

He was confused,’ Why did I say that?’ he touched his face and realised he had a crazy grin on his face.

None of this fitted his usual nature. " I’m changing aren’t I?" He realised this but he didn’t hate it, this change felt right.

In fact it felt less like a change and more like he was becoming his true self. Both the Gorilla and the snake turned towards him.

" I hope you made this fun for me." He pounced towards them, his body turned into a blur and he arrived in front of the gorilla in a blur.

He jumped into the air and his leg split the air like a whip heading for the gorilla’s head, at the sand time.

The water in the lake lashed out like vines and bound the snake, it thrashed around and broke them.

Then it shot water balls at him, the gorilla blocked his kick and he used its arm as a foothold and jumped up.

The water balls hit it on the face making it stagger two steps back, mid air, Adrain pointed his hand at the snake.

A javelin of water appeared in front of him and shot out like a bolt of lightning moving faster than sound.

The snake tried to dodge but water vines bound its body again and slowed it down, the javelin landed.

But Adrain sighed, the javelin barely managed to pierce through its has scales before coming to a stop.

He landed on the ground and pounced towards the gorilla again, he clashed with both monsters for hours.

Adrain realised he was having fun, more fun that he ever did and he felt happy, for the first time since he lost his mother and sister he genuinely felt happy.

" Is something wrong with me?" He asked nobody in particular. As the battle progressed, the happier he got.

Even when his bones were broken by the gorilla or the water balls pierced through his skin leaving gaping holes he still felt happy.

He was certain there was something wrong with his mind but it didn’t matter, it actually took his mind away from all the pain and anger in his heart.

The fight lasted for hours until nightfall and not once did he use any ability except physical enhancement against the gorilla and water against the snake.

As the moon rose above, Adrain finally remembered he shouldn’t be out of the city in the first place and yet he was wasting time here.

He sighed, " Yeah, it’s been fun but I guess everything must come to an end." Born Gadra were exhausted now.

Honestly, so was his but it appeared he had more stamina than both and as for Esper, he barely used any which is why he outlasted the snake.

He lunged towards the gorilla, it punched and he sidestepped then punched its stomach.

He had done this hundreds of times in their fight but barely delt any damage but this time it was different.

He used a sound related ability to bypass its tough hide and directly attack its internals, this was the ability he chose not to use against the ghoul.

As for the snake, water enveloped its body completely then froze into ice.
