Chapter 75: Ghosts Army.
He looked back at the ghosts, they all had different forms representing the way they died.
Those who died of diseases or old age were few since a ghosts is created from grievance.
Yet strangely, while they looked terrifying and had gruesome wounds they didn’t have abilities reflecting their deaths except a few.
One was burning in flames, another had water dancing around it, both were ghosts of women. The others didn’t look as impressive except two others.
The first was a ghost of a man with different torture weapons growing out of its body, its head was a nail gun.
The second had a body made of guns and explosives, these four ghosts were obviously the strongest Eve had.
Their presence terrified the others but after realising the ghosts weren’t hurting them but targeting the ghouls they relaxed a bit.
Adrain turned back towards the ghoul, it immediately lunged at him, its speed was very fast.
At least to a normal human but to him, it wasn’t so impressive, it was slightly slower than Sam’s speed when using moon step.
Of course it couldn’t match his speed when he’s in his werewolf form, Sam can break even the sound barrier in that form.
The ghoul reached him in less than a second and swung its black claws at him, the claws were obviously laced with poison.
Adrain coated his left arm with lunar energy like a silver glove, he blocked the claw and his feet sunk into the ground leaving cracks.
The force made his arm shake, he realised how strong this thing was, he raised his right hand and made a grabbing motion.
Its body froze then he swung his arm up and the ghoul flew up and hit the roof causing the entire cave to shake.
Annie’s friends screamed and even Eve looked startled, the ghoul roared like a mad beast.
He lowered his hand, veins appeared on his head and arm, even though his telekinesis was powerful.
Grabbing this thing felt like trying to stop a speeding truck, he pulled back his right arm drawing the ghoul towards him.
It swung its claws at his face then he swung his arm as if throwing a rock, the ghoul shot back like a meteor and hit the other side of the cave wall.
Rock fragments flew like bullets forcing him to take action so the others don’t die. The ghoul appeared embedded on the wall.
Wide cracks had spread across the cave wall, the ghoul growled and tried to pull itself out of the wall.
Adrain sighed, that attack would’ve rendered most unable to even move but the iron ghoul was not even damaged by it.
He had to admit, while this creature was not particularly powerful, it had insane durability, probably surpassing his own.
He raised his right foot and stomped it on the ground, a wave of energy spread out and strengthen the stone around the cave.
The floor, walls and even the ceiling of the cave became as tough as steel, the iron ghoul struggled to get itself out.
It roared loudly and struggled even harder, since it felt no pain nor fatigue, it didn’t matter what it did to get free.
It started biting the rocks around it and its strong teeth managed to break the steel hard rock.
Adrain frowned, he clasped his hands together in a prayer motion causing a clapping sound.
Silver light busted forth and sharp nail punches of lunar energy appeared in front of him. He snapped his fingers and the nail punches shot forward like arrows.
They hit the ghoul on every limb but what he had expected did not happen, they failed to pierce through its hard skin and pushed it further into the wall instead.
He weaved a hand sign and the nail punches suddenly turned into chains of lunar energy with spikes at the end, they bound the ghoul and anchored themselves on the wall.
Adrain stopped to think, this ghoul was too durable, after searching through his repertoire of abilities, he came to the conclusion that not one can pierce through its skin.
Well there was one but considering the ghoul was an undead, that ability would not do much damage if any at all.
Of course if he went to his werewolf form, his claws would be able to do the trick but that thought made him frown.
He had noticed this lately but he was getting more prideful and his true werewolf form was his pride.
He’s only comfortable using it against an opponent whose strength he recognises and nobody else.
And he did not recognise this ghoul as a worthy enemy, while it was durable, that all there was to it.
Just a turtle with nothing else to show for it, he wondered if his teeth could pierce through its skin.
His teeth were the strongest and sharpest things in his arsenal but the thought of biting into that thing made him want to throw up.
Unfortunately he couldn’t throw up, literally, even if he wanted to. He shrugged and just sat down.
The ghoul couldn’t escape even if it wanted to and the sun would rise in a less than four hours anyways.
He turned towards the ghosts fighting the other ghouls and had to admit, they were more impressive than he gave them credit for.
Eve who was able to tame them was even more impressive, from what he knew, mediums shouldn’t be able to do that.
Their ability was only to see and communicate with ghosts, not use them in battle.
Adrain could feel that she even had a tiny trickle of esper energy inside her, it was small.
Not even large enough for her to count as a level 1 Espera. Of the four ghosts, the one with fire and the one with guns and explosives seemed to be doing the most damage.
The other ghosts were very unimpressive, they seem to have basic telekinesis, it was very weak to be honest.
He figured they probably have body possession too and as ghosts can naturally phase through solid matter.
That was his speculation based on what he knows about ghosts but besides that, they didn’t look like they had any other special abilities.
They didn’t reflect the way they died like the other four in terms of a abilities, only appearances which was strange, he now wondered what were the conditions for that to happen.
In about an hour, the ghosts brought down the ghouls but ghouls couldn’t be killed so easily.
They were dismembered into different pieces but slowly they were crawling back together.
Eve stomped her foot in annoyance, " What the hell, I can’t kill these things." She complained and Adrain laughed.
" Sunlight will do the trick." He told her then used telekinesis to lift up all the pieces as well as the iron ghoul king which was still bound by lunar chains.
