SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes

Chapter 66: Humans Ahead

A hundred meters away from the exit portal, Desther saw multiple humans interacting with each other. There should be a total of ten of them after a quick count.

At least half of them were injured, while the others remained intact. Most of them were wet and had some bruises here and there in their body.

Obviously, those injuries would have surely come from the Blastoads, but he would also not neglect the idea that they got those injuries from their fellow humans.

Their attire was also at random. None of them seemed to be from the government either.

He wondered what they were doing right in front of the Exit Gate, though.

’Are they planning to regulate this dungeon? Are they supposed to be the guards? They seemed a bit weak...’ he thought as he observed the humans ahead of them.’

Even with such a distance, Desther had no problem sensing their overall strength.

If he had to guess based on the feeling he was getting from them, their highest attribute should only be around 20 to 30.

For normal Awakened Professional’s, though, such a high attribute would already mean that they had already transitioned to their class and were already a Tier 1 Professional.

Stepping a little closer, Desther focused his hearing and tried to eavesdrop what they were talking about just out of curiosity.

"Let us through. You are being unreasonable. We have an injured comrade here!"

"Hmmp! Do you think I care? Hand-in over your loots or else, none of you would be able to get out!"

Just hearing those series of dialogues and Desther was already able to tell what kind of situation it was.

It seemed that greed had overcome some humans once again.

As usual, Desther planned to ignore such drama and have a peaceful life.

If these muggers were still there when he tried to leave later on, then he would deal with them at that time without mercy.

He does not even save a damsel in distress, how much more these hairy misters?

It would just be a complete waste of time in his opinion.

Unfortunately, even though he wants no trouble, others just would not leave him be.

Desther heard a swishing sound as an arrow flew past his head and accurately hit the tree in front of him.

Knowing that the arrow would not hit him, he did not even flinch, much more dodge.

STRIIING!

He stopped in tracks, as he stared at the arrow now lodged deeply on the tree. Its tail hummed as the arrows’ tails vibrated in low intensity due to the residual energy.

Slowly turning around, Desther tracked the trajectory of where the arrow came from, and immediately locked eyes on one of the humans near the Exit Portal.

The moment their eyes met, the arrow user visibly flinched, and even took a momentary step back due to instinctive fear.

"Oh? Another one? Come here and let us inspect your loot. I promise, we won’t take any of them." One of them loudly exclaimed as he looked at Desther from a distance.

This man did not seem to notice that the face of the bow user a few meters beside him was no longer as calm as before.

Hearing his remarks, Desther did not even bother to answer.

And honestly, no matter what their reason was, he was no longer willing to hear it.

After all, he gets nervous easily, and the moment he gets nervous, he would always accidentally pull the trigger.

Since there was no trigger to pull, then he will just use Magic Bullet instead.

Decisive and merciless, Desther did not bother to speak and immediately went into action.

Quick and swift, the Magic Bullet formed on top of his head and immediately traveled toward the bow user in a blink of an eye.

Although his Magic Bullet was still unable to break the sound barrier, he knew that it was getting there.

Such speed, though, could still not be easily dodged from such a distance.

However, Tier 1 Awakened Professionals were truly a class on their own.

Not only would their initial attributes from Tier 0 would double the moment they gain a class, they would also receive numerous skills that came with that said class.

The Archer was an Awakened Professional with attributes focusing on Agility and Strength. What came along with it was enhanced perception as well as vision to match their class.

When the man locked eyes with Desther, he felt fear rising through the bottom of his heart.

As if he was being eyed by a predator, the archer could not move in place.

However, when the transparent Magic Bullet came toward him, the fear of death managed to awaken him from his momentary stupor.

Due to this, he was able to instinctively use his skill Phase, allowing him to escape from the Magic Bullet’s grasp.

BOOM!

However, Phase was not a dashing skill. It only allowed its user to fade their body and move twice as fast as before. For an Archer focused on sniping from afar, not getting their presence discovered and being elusive was just a basic skill.

He was indeed able to dodge the Magic Bullet, but not the impact caused by it.

One must note that in this dungeon, there were a lot of massive trees that formed the roots that they were on.

The Magic Bullet struck the tree behind him, as an explosion ensued in the surroundings.

Like a mini bomb, a hole was blasted off the tree’s trunk. Debris flew around and struck the man squarely on his back.

Not only him, even the others were surprised at the damage that the skill had caused.

Coughing a mouthful of blood, the man took an arrow from his quiver and immediately notched it on his bow.

"Help! This one is troublesome!"

He shouted as he raised the bow to aim it at Desther.

His eyes focused and contracted, looking at where Desther was.

However, his eyes soon flickered, as he realized that the man that caused the damage behind him was no longer in sight.

He looked to the left, and he looked to the right.

’Where?’

That thought barely registered in his mind, as he heard a swooshing sound from above.

At that moment, he knew he was fucked up!
