The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 438 Backstabbing

Ling Feng was just about to get out of the car when Li Fei’er immediately stood up and said, "I want to go too!"

"Be good, stay here and wait for me. Don’t run around," Ling Feng replied, not intending to let her come along. Who could know who the other party was? What if they were very formidable?

At that moment, Chu Nan also said, "Girl, listen and wait in the car. Don’t distract your uncle!"

"Well, alright then. Uncle, be careful!" Li Fei’er could only say.

Ling Feng nodded, got out of the car, and the person from the Chu Family pointed in the direction of the hillside and said, "It’s over there!"

"Got it. You guys watch from a distance and don’t get close!"

After saying this, Ling Feng quickly walked in that direction.

A few minutes later, he reached the top of the small hill.

As soon as he stood firm, he saw two people standing there on the opposite hillside, staring straight at him.

One could tell they weren’t local villagers just from their attire because at this time of year, the common folk wore their homemade cotton-padded jackets—which, although bulky, provided excellent warmth.

However, these two people were lightly dressed, and their clothes, at a glance, were clearly not ordinary—their price tags were hefty!

Ling Feng sneered to himself, thinking, Are you guys so brazen?

Not even bothering to disguise yourselves and just coming over to scout like this?

He walked down the hillside, the two men remaining still, watching Ling Feng as he approached.

"Gentlemen, what are you doing here?" Ling Feng asked.

"What’s it to you? Is this your land? We’ll do whatever we want!" one of the younger-looking men, apparently in his twenties, retorted.

Ling Feng glanced at him, smiled slightly, and said, "This place may not be my property, and you two indeed have nothing to do with me. I’m just curious and wanted to ask, is that alright?"

"No, it’s not! Which village are you from, kid? Don’t make trouble for yourself, you got that?" the young man said arrogantly.

Seeing this, Ling Feng coldly chuckled and replied, "And what if I don’t got it?"

"You’re asking for a beating!"

The young man was taken aback, his face filled with annoyance as he charged, ready to start a fight!

However, the middle-aged man beside him was more restrained and grabbed him, "Qiangzi, stop messing around!"

Then he turned to Ling Feng, "Sorry about that. We just came up to the mountain for a walk. We didn’t know you came to find us. Is there something you need?"

"It’s nothing, I was just curious. In such cold weather, with nothing on the mountain, what’s so good about taking a walk here?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.

"We said it’s none of your business—can’t you understand human speech?" the young man shouted.

Ling Feng was speechless, guessing from their appearance that these two were father and son—he wondered how the middle-aged man taught his child, letting him be so arrogant and overbearing.

"Alright then, since you wish to stand here, it truly is none of my business!"

Ling Feng smiled, turned, and walked back up the hillside.

There was no movement behind him, and he thought the two would have the sense to turn back and leave. Unexpectedly, at that moment, he heard a muffled ’pu’ sound from behind!

Ling Feng felt a shock in his back as something hit him, so he turned to look back.

To his astonishment, the middle-aged man’s gun was still smoking at the muzzle, and he immediately asked in shock, "You actually shot me?"

"How... how can you be fine?"

The middle-aged man’s face was filled with surprise; the bullet had clearly hit him, yet there Ling Feng stood, unharmed, without even a hint of pain on his face!

Ling Feng chuckled, "Well, you won’t be able to know the reason now, will you?"

Of course, he wasn’t going to give his opponent a second chance to shoot. His body suddenly turned into a blur, and by the time the other’s eyes widened in shock, he was already up close!

With a "swoosh," the gun in the middle-aged man’s hand was sliced into two pieces, and at the same time, two of his fingers were severed by the God Slayer Saber!

"Ahh!"

A scream echoed as a cold light flashed in the young man’s eyes. Ling Feng didn’t say another word. Before the young man could draw his weapon, the blade had already reached the side of his neck.

"Remember in your next life, be nicer when talking to strangers," Ling Feng growled.

With a roar, he pushed the saber a fraction further, slicing open the young man’s throat.

The young man’s eyes filled with disbelief as the gun in his hand dropped powerlessly to the ground, and he fell with a thud, blood gushing all over the floor in an instant.

Turning to look back at the middle-aged man, Ling Feng sneered, "Attacking from behind, how despicable you are!"

"You, you killed Qiangzi, I’m going to fight you to the death!"

The middle-aged man’s fingers throbbed with pain, and he had already lost all reason, throwing himself at Ling Feng in a sudden rush!

Ling Feng stood still, seeing his movements, he knew this person was only at the Peak of Dark Energy, nowhere near a match for himself!

So he watched as the man approached, seemingly in slow motion, and then Ling Feng’s silhouette flashed, and the saber glided across the man’s neck.

The middle-aged man fell to the ground, his body twitching a few times before he lost all signs of life.

Looking at the bodies of the two men, Ling Feng felt speechless. Were such low-level thugs really going out to make a show of themselves? Did the other side have no one else to use?

Crouching down, he searched the bodies and ended up finding nothing but a phone, with no other possessions.

Looking at the screen that prompted for a password, Ling Feng shook his head in resignation, "Looks like I need to go find Du Song again."

He had just finished speaking and was about to make a call when the screen of the phone in his hand lit up.

The phone vibrated silently, displaying the three digits "001." Ling Feng looked at it quizzically for a moment before tapping the answer button.

"How’s it going?"

A deep male voice came through from the other end of the phone, immediately asking upon connection.

Ling Feng thought for a moment and replied in a deep voice, "Smoothly."

"..."

There was silence on the other end after hearing his words, lasting for about ten seconds before suddenly asking, "Who are you?"

Ling Feng laughed bitterly, a helpless wry smile.

Imitating someone else’s voice was a bit difficult for him, and even though he tried his best just now, he still couldn’t fool the other person.

Hearing that question, Ling Feng shot back, "And who are you?"

The person on the other end didn’t respond but after a two-second pause, hung up.

Ling Feng stared at the screen, still locked, unable to check the specific number of the caller. He put the phone away and took out his own to call Chen Ping.

The ringtone was cut short as it was quickly answered. Chen Ping’s eager voice came from the other end, "How did it go? Did you find anything?"

"Sort of. Caught two guys sneaking around, didn’t interrogate anything out of them, and just as I let down my guard, one shot me!" said Ling Feng with a wry smile.

Chen Ping was taken aback, "You killed them?"

"Boss, you’re not even asking how I am, but you’re concerned about the fate of those two?" Ling Feng rolled his eyes.

Chen Ping paused for a moment, then replied, "Nonsense, if you’re calling me, obviously you’re fine. I know you wouldn’t get hurt."

"Fine, they’re dead. Got a phone, but it’s locked. Can’t access the contacts," Ling Feng said with a bitter smile.
