Chapter 436 I am not a beast
Ling Feng chuckled, "If it’s of no use, you might as well leave this place to me!"
"What do you want it for?" Chu Nan asked out of curiosity.
"I haven’t decided yet, but it seems a waste to use such a large place for pig farming when we could be doing something more valuable!" Ling Feng replied.
He really hadn’t decided. It was just his natural farmer’s instinct telling him that after leveling that small hill, there would be a large expanse of land left. Why not keep it for something good?
Chu Nan glanced at him, "Alright then, since you’ve said so, we’ll keep it for you!"
"Great, don’t worry, I’ll pay you back for your investment!" Ling Feng said with a smile.
Chu Nan waved his hand carelessly, with an air of a wealthy tycoon, "Forget it, it’s just a small sum of money, why bother?"
"So generous? Then haven’t I owed you a big favor?" Ling Feng said with a slight smile.
Chu Nan looked at him, "Stop it, if I were to be swayed by a few million, I’d actually think less of you!"
Hearing this, Ling Feng laughed heartily, giving a thumbs up, "Old man, you’re quite interesting!"
Their relationship began over mutual benefits, and they grew closer for the same reason, but in getting to know each other, Ling Feng found Chu Nan to be pretty decent. He was straightforward, speaking his mind without beating around the bush. Even knowing he was after his Spirit Stone, Ling Feng was willing to deal with him!
That was the difference between people.
There was no need to mention the Qiao Family. With Joanna there, Ling Feng knew he was defenseless against her; whatever she asked for, he had to give.
But luckily, the Qiao Family wasn’t unperceptive and did not take such actions.
As for the Lu Family, after Lu Zixuan’s previous bluster, they would need to come up with more convincing means to win him over in the future; otherwise, it was definitely out of the question.
So now, to Ling Feng, of the three great families, the Chu Family seemed to be the best one to interact with!
The excavators had already begun their work. Li Fei’er was initially very interested, but after half an hour she found it boring and her mouth began to pout.

Ling Feng knew the old man would cook something special, and indeed, Chu Nan took out a bottle of wine from a little box with a grin, placing it on the table, "Today’s your lucky day. This is an exquisite vintage I’ve treasured for thirty years!"
"Really? I must try it!"
Ling Feng was in a good mood, grabbing a glass to pour some for both of them.
Meanwhile, Li Fei’er sat next to them, quietly eating and paying no attention to the two men, until she smelled the fragrance of the wine and lifted her head to sniff, "That smells amazing!"
"Girl, do you want a taste?"
Hearing her comment, Chu Nan asked with a smile.
Li Fei’er turned her head to glance at Ling Feng, "Can I drink it?"
"Strictly speaking, no, but a taste wouldn’t hurt," Ling Feng replied with a smile.
So he poured her a glass. Li Fei’er first took a small sip, and then her eyes lit up. She tilted her head and downed the entire glass!
Almost instantly, her little face turned a light shade of pink, looking incredibly cute!
Ling Feng watched, dumbfounded, and couldn’t help asking, "Are you alright?"
"Great wine!"
Li Fei’er’s eyes sparkled with different colors as she praised loudly.
Ling Feng was speechless, while Chu Nan was amused, "The young girl knows her wine. Come on, have another glass!"
"All right!"
Li Fei’er clearly wanted more and nodded immediately.
She poured another glass, but this time, instead of drinking it straight away, she raised her glass and said to Chu Nan, "Elder, I toast to you!"
"Good, you are very sensible!"
Chu Nan was pleased, lifted his cup, and after the two clinked glasses, they both downed their drinks.
Ling Feng watched with a helpless look on his face, "Why don’t you two just finish the bottle!"
"Fine by me, with one less person, I get to drink more!"
Li Fei’er’s face was even more flushed, but her eyes were still clear, showing no sign of drunkenness.
"You can hold your liquor surprisingly well, but you’re still young, so you better drink less. One more glass should be enough!"
Ling Feng said with a wry smile, worried she would drink too much and end up getting wild with him.
"Don’t worry, I’m not that easily affected!"
Li Fei’er waved her hand dismissively.
As a result, during the dinner, she and Chu Nan went head-to-head and wound up drinking half a jin of white liquor together.
Although her cheeks were rosy, she was indeed fine, speaking clearly and her gaze remained focused.
Ling Feng marveled to himself, wondering what was up with this girl. Maybe she was born with the ability to drink?
After dinner, almost the entire bottle of white wine was finished by the two of them, with Ling Feng having tasted only a glass.
Seeing the flushed faces of the young and the old, Ling Feng was somewhat speechless.
At that moment, Chu Nan said, "Be alert when you go to sleep tonight. In case something happens at the construction site, we’re counting on you to check it out!"
"Of course, why else would I be here?"
Ling Feng replied, then turned to Li Fei’er, "Are you sleepy? Shall we go back to sleep?"
"Hmm, I’ll go freshen up first..."
Li Fei’er got up with slightly unsteady steps, but she walked quite steadily.
Ling Feng watched her leave the room and after hearing her enter the next room, he shook his head helplessly.
Meanwhile, Chu Nan chuckled, "I’m saying, you and this young girl..."
"Don’t jump to conclusions. We’re just friends, nothing more. I’m not a beast!"
Ling Feng knew what he was hinting at and quickly raised his hand to stop him!
"Oh, I was overthinking it then, that’s good!" Chu Nan nodded.
Ling Feng glanced at him, "What? You think less of me if there was something between us?"
"That’s right!"
Chu Nan nodded, "A true man has his principles, things he’ll do and things he won’t. If you really made a move on such a young girl, that would be lower than a beast!"
Ling Feng laughed, feeling not at all annoyed but rather finding common ground with the old man, feeling like they were cut from the same cloth!
So the two sat opposite each other and chatted a while longer until Chu Nan began to show signs of tiredness. Only then did Ling Feng stand up to leave, heading back to his room.
But upon entering, he saw Li Fei’er wearing only her undergarments, sound asleep on the heated brick bed!
