Chapter 163: Infiltration
According to Aiden’s earlier statement, the houses outside were also occupied, which clearly wasn’t a good plan.
He quietly passed through the main gate of the wall that the two men had been guarding.
Vikram crouched down, carefully observing, to see if there might be other Survivors guarding inside the wall.
He tiptoed around the exterior once and found the structure to be truly cunning.
The five houses where the mid-level or lower-level members lived on the outside were connected, completely enveloping the main house where Rahul Soniwal and his group were located.
He had originally wanted to look for any gaps to bypass these outer houses and go straight for the kill, but now it seemed he had overthought it.
As for the method in movies, where if an assassination couldn’t use the front door, one would climb through a window, that was even more impossible.
The natural disasters of the Wasteland World simply did not allow any Survivor to build windows on their Shelter.
Unless a Survivor was suicidal, normal Shelters were completely sealed, with only one sufficiently sturdy door.
Just as he was racking his brain over this, a sudden idea flashed in his mind.
"Don’t I have a golden finger? Destroying this kind of trashy building is easy, isn’t it?" He had actually used this trick before, and even managed to take down an Epic-level monster with it.
Vikram smiled; it looked like this trick would come in handy again today.
Thinking of this, he didn’t hesitate. Phantom Druid was already with him.
He climbed directly onto the roof of the Savage Wolf Shelter’s outer houses without looking back.
Fortunately, the metal roof of the Savage Wolf Shelter was very thick, and stepping on it didn’t make any noise.
Now, he and the Phantom Druid stood on it, directly facing the wall of the Shelter’s main house.
A normal person might be at a loss at this point, but Vikram was a man with a system, and Phantom Druid’s powers made infiltration effortless.
He didn’t rush to use the system to destroy the wall.
"Phantom Druid," he whispered, "use Phantom Step and Phantom Veil."
The Phantom Druid nodded once. Its body dissolved into swirling black mist and shadow. A moment later, faint shadow traces appeared around Vikram.
With a smooth motion, the Phantom Druid activated Phantom Veil, enveloping Vikram in a deep mist-shadow form. Their bodies became partially intangible, allowing them to move with greatly increased speed and evasion.
They reappeared inside the main house without triggering any alarm.
The moment they materialized, the Phantom Druid stayed partially in its mist form, ready to act. Vikram quickly scanned the dark interior using his Bio Detector. Several red dots appeared scattered throughout the rooms ahead, the high-ranking members Aiden had mentioned.
The location they had entered was awkward, they were standing inside what appeared to be the Shelter’s crude indoor toilet area. The smell was unpleasant, but Vikram ignored it.
Not all toilets built by Survivors themselves were as normal as the one in Vikram’s Shelter.
Their toilet was clearly just a small cubicle with nothing in it.
Excrement was handled with a bucket, so a pungent stench immediately wafted out.
He instinctively covered his nose. He didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. Although the location was a bit stinky, there was no one else there.
It was the perfect place for them to infiltrate. Without further ado, he walked straight in. While informing to the Phantom Druid, keeping his voice extremely low. "Stay close and cover my back. If we run into anyone, use Mist Clones or Shadow Vine Bind."
This seemed to be a private toilet, because judging by the spatial layout reflected on the biological detector.
Outside the toilet was a small bedroom, and there was a motionless red dot in the room.
Clearly, the owner of the room was sound asleep.
He quietly opened the door connecting to the toilet.
Sure enough, a burly man was lying spread-eagled on a double bed.
His snores were deafening, making all three feel a touch of relief.
Fortunately, he was still asleep, otherwise, if a man of his size moved, it would surely attract the attention of others.
It seemed the toilet door opening and a waft of stench had disturbed the big man’s sleep.
He mumbled something, and just as Vikram thought he was about to wake up.
The big man’s massive body rolled over to the other side.
The bed frame beneath him also trembled violently from the roll, clearly struggling under the weight.
"His physique has reached over 20, and his strength is even 24 points?" He thought to himself after a quick scan.
For him he was just a pig on the cutting board. He didn’t even needs to do anything, Phantom Druid appeared, his blade swung down fiercely at the sleeping man’s neck.
"Swish!"
At this moment, because of Phantom Druid’s blade wind, the big man slowly woke up.
His eyes instantly changed from confusion to shock and anger. Realizing what was happening, he tried to raise his hand to block the strike.
But it was already too late. Even in a head-on confrontation, with his physique, he couldn’t be faster than Phantom Druid. Let alone when Phantom Druid was ambushing him while he was asleep?
"Pfft—" Blood splattered, spraying onto the nearby wall, staining into crimson.
And the burly man, who had just been startled awake from his sleep, had not uttered a single word from beginning to end before his life came to an end.
Looking at the big man clutching his neck, his eyes filled with despair, Vikram felt no pity.
It was possible that the big man was not among those who conspired to harm him, but who cared? This was the Wasteland World.
If not a friend, then only an enemy. His goal today was to completely take over the Savage Wolf Shelter.
With the speed of Phantom Druid’s killing he was satisfied. Although he has come to access the powers of Savage Wolf Shelter, if he can take over it, he will try to do it.
After killing the fatso, Vikram decided to find the next target.
At this moment, they were in a second-floor bedroom of the Savage Wolf Shelter’s main house.
After a careful look, there were three other bedrooms on this floor.
One of the bedrooms, located to the north, was the largest, and Vikram guessed that was probably Rahul Soniwal’s room.
However, there were two red dots together in it at the moment. If it were Rahul Soniwal and his woman, that would be fine.
But if he was with other members, it would absolutely alert the other people in the Shelter.
Looking at the other rooms, Vikram thought it over repeatedly and still felt that rushing in to kill Rahul Soniwal directly was not appropriate.
His plan had always been to take over the Savage Wolf Shelter completely, not just to kill their leader.
Ultimately, he opened the door, passed through the living room, and came to a relatively more secluded bedroom.
Pushing the door open, fortunately, the door wasn’t locked from the inside, so they easily entered.
However, they would soon stop smiling...
