Chapter 162: Intelligence
After circling for a while, Vikram found that aside from an iron gate entrance guarded by people, there was no other way to sneak into the Savage Wolf Shelter.
Staring at the two guys who had gotten up early to guard the gate, Vikram decided to start with them.
First, he summoned the system and scanned them.
[Rony: Strength: 12, Speed: 10, Stamina: 11, Reaction: 12.]
[Aiden: Strength: 11, Speed: 11, Stamina: 10, Reaction: 12.]
Both were mere cannon fodder who had only consumed one or two pieces of fruit, so Vikram didn’t hesitate.
He put on the prepared black cloth, leaving only his eyes exposed, then turned his head and gave a signal to Phantom Druid to vanish.
Phantom Druid quickly vanished, while he tiptoed forward, first pressing himself against the outer wall, then, supporting himself with the wall, he slowly moved closer to the two guards.
"Haa—" A long yawn reached Vikram’s ears, followed by the sound of the gatekeepers talking.
"Seriously, the higher-ups in the Shelter are too afraid of death, aren’t they? They make people guard the gate early in the morning before it’s even light."
"With such a large Shelter, how could anyone dare to attack us uninvited?" One of the gatekeepers pouted, complaining.
"Who said it isn’t true?"
"This Shelter looks glorious, but the ones who truly enjoy it are always the higher-ups. As for small fries like us, no one would probably care if we died any day."
The two laughed self-deprecatingly, then the topic shifted to casual conversation.
"Hey, I heard that some time ago someone snatched away the women the boss wanted, and I heard they were two very pretty girls. Do you think it’s true?"
"Shh! Keep your voice down. You know the boss’s temper. If anyone hears you, you’ll be in for it."
The Survivor who spoke next looked around, saw no one, waved him over, and whispered into his ear, "I’ll tell you, this is 100% true. Do you remember a few days ago, Vikram, that the boss slandered in the channel?"
"It’s said that that kid intercepted the boss’s two women, which is why he made such a big fuss in the channel."
"This matter became so big, and it’s said that in the end, the boss still couldn’t do anything to that kid, especially since he’s a lone wolf Survivor."
"Hiss!"
"That kid is pretty awesome, annoying our boss twice."
"Even though he didn’t go offline and arm-wrestle with the Savage Wolf Shelter, this feat is enough for him to brag about for a lifetime."
"That’s right, people behind his back now call him the epitome of a lone wolf Survivor."
Hearing this, Vikram couldn’t help but make a puzzled expression. Is this little bit of nonsense worth being admired? It just shows how idle the people in the channel are.
"Many people still want to find him to cooperate, but unfortunately, his friend requests have been closed."
"Tsk, this is a bit much. No matter how powerful he is, he’s just doing opportunistic, sneaky things."
"If he really dares to come to our Shelter, never mind anyone else, I alone can beat him into a pulp."
"Really?"
"Of course, it’s true." He said, closing his eyes, looking arrogant.
The person who had spoken earlier hadn’t noticed the change in voice, but his companion next to him kept nudging his shoulder.
"Ow, why are you pushing?" He had just opened his eyes, intending to scold his companion.
What met his eyes was a strange face covered with a black cloth.
"You..." He subconsciously wanted to shout to alert his companions in the Shelter.
However, Vikram would not let him have his way. With just a light thrust, the long blade pierced his throat.
The words he wanted to shout were choked in his mouth, unable to be uttered, leaving only "ho, ho" gasps.
The process seemed slow but actually took less than two seconds.
The other Survivor next to him was so scared he couldn’t speak, the fear of death causing his body to stiffen.
Vikram didn’t even touch him, yet he fell down on his own.
He had just witnessed Vikram’s speed firsthand.
That physique was impossible for him to resist, which is why he was so terrified.
"Shh!"
"Don’t make a sound. As long as you answer my questions properly, I can let you go." Vikram, who had just killed someone, stared at him with gentle eyes, blinking repeatedly, looking nothing like a bad person.
"Don’t... don’t kill me, I’ll tell you anything." Aiden, who was slumped on the ground, put his hands in front of him and retreated until the wall behind him blocked his way, finally stopping.
Vikram felt like he was about to cry, thinking to himself, "Am I really that scary? He’s backing away as if he’s seen a ghost."
However, fortunately, this person was easy to talk to and agreed to his request, so he didn’t bother to say anything more.
"Tell me, how many people are in the Savage Wolf Shelter?"
"Including me and the one you just killed, there are a total of 53 members." Aiden on the ground answered, almost trembling.
Nodding, he got an answer similar to the number of members in the Brown Wood Shelter, so he knew this kid wasn’t lying.
"And... and besides the members, there are also about ten women held in the Shelter’s basement, all for the higher-ups to vent their desires."
It was evident that this person was truly afraid of death; he even supplemented the information without Vikram asking.
Looking at the Survivor with satisfaction, he revealed a relieved smile and continued, "What is the strength of your Shelter, and where is your boss, Rahul Soniwal, now?"
This was his favorite kind of cannon fodder, one who knew when to retreat and saved him a lot of trouble.
Sure enough, Aiden on the ground didn’t hesitate to spill all the information about the Shelter to him like pouring beans.
"Brother, I don’t know the exact strength, but there are about twenty-eight Survivors with similar strength to me."
"There are also fifteen stronger members above that, and the remaining ten are all higher-ups with physiques above thirty."
"As for the boss’s location, he’s in the room in the very center of the Shelter, and the higher-ups are all in there too." He pointed to the large building behind him, swearing confidently.
Nodding again, for this well-behaved Survivor, he simply gave him a blow to the neck, knocking him unconscious.
Then he signals the Phantom Druid to follow him in shadow.
As he had expected, the most important group of people were indeed in that heavily surrounded large house.
From a distance earlier, he hadn’t noticed anything, but now, looking closer.
He estimated the area of this house to be over a hundred square meters, and it was two stories high; for Survivors at this stage, it could be considered a mansion.
Even with ten people living together, it was enough to allocate their own space to the higher-ups.
The problem now was how to get through these external houses, tightly connected, to enter the central house.
He glanced around; to enter normally, one would have to first pass through the external door directly opposite to reach the interior...
