Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System

Chapter 164: Exposed

"Who are you? Newcomers? Do you not know this room is only for high-ranking members?"

"I’ll give you three seconds. Get out, or even if you’re new, you’ll die today!" the man roared, casually smashing the cup in his hand towards Vikram, who had just entered the room.

Before the cup hit the ground, Vikram caught it.

The commotion wasn’t too loud yet; the man in the room had only shouted once and likely hadn’t alerted other members.

He slowly closed the door, unexpectedly, the moment the man saw the door closed, a metal weapon materialized in his hand.

Judging by the cold gleam reflecting off its blade, it was clearly from the same source as the weapon which Brijbhushan used, both made of alloy.

"I wondered why some hothead would barge in. Turns out it’s some little brat stirring up trouble in the Shelter."

"No wonder you are wearing such a foolish-looking hood."

"It’s your bad luck to cross me. You barely survived the natural disaster, only to die by my hand."

After saying that, the man, holding the blade with one hand, gave a disdainful smile, then swung his alloy long blade, cutting through the air.

It turned out his previous demeanor was all an act.

As a high-ranking member of the Savage Wolf Shelter, he was well aware of the Shelter’s security.

Someone who could silently enter the main house and safely reach the second floor couldn’t possibly be an easy opponent.

Everything that had just happened was a test. The man had been trying to trick Vikram, waiting for him to make the first move so he could catch him off guard.

But before the sword could reach Vikram, the man suddenly realized that his hand, along with the sword, was falling to the ground.

"What happened...?" He couldn’t process what he was seeing. For a brief moment, he couldn’t even feel the pain.

Then the pain hit him like a wave. He opened his mouth to scream.

In that instant, Vikram moved.

Vikram gripped the man’s mouth shut with one hand while an object appeared in his other. Before the man could make a sound, Vikram shoved the cold barrel of a pistol deep into his mouth.

The man’s eyes widened in terror. He couldn’t scream. He couldn’t even make a single sound.

Intense pain radiated from his severed wrist, but the sight of the pistol forced into his mouth made him lose control. A warm stream of urine soaked his pants.

"Don’t make a sound," Vikram said coldly, his eyes indifferent, "or I’ll shoot you dead right here."

Although the man couldn’t see Vikram’s full expression under the black cloth covering his face, he could feel the utter contempt radiating from him.

At that moment, the man could no longer afford to think about anything else.

After the pain subsided a little, Vikram looked at him and said, "Anything I will ask, you will tell me, right".

The man nodded in fear.

"Good," Vikram nodded as he took out the barrel of the gun from his mouth.

The man wasn’t even able to say anything, he was only nodding at Vikram.

The smell of gunpowder from the gun barrel was very pungent; he knew the weapon in Vikram’s hand was definitely not fake.

Seeing this, the man directly gave up resisting and instead knelt on the ground, pleading bitterly.

As a high-ranking member of the Savage Wolf Shelter, he knelt before Vikram without any hesitation.

It turned out that on Earth, he had merely scraped by, a useless person subjected to cold stares.

Upon arriving in the Wasteland World, he had soared, becoming a revered high-ranking member of the Savage Wolf Shelter.

Therefore, he didn’t want to die more than anyone else.

The reason he obediently listened to Vikram was also because, at this moment, forcibly calling for help might give him a chance to take down this mysterious man.

But by then, his own life would surely be over, which didn’t align with his philosophy.

"Want to live? That’s simple. First, tell me the location of your Shelter’s warehouse."

"If I tell you, will you let me go?"

"Do you have a choice?" Saying this, the gun barrel in his hand pressed further against his mouth.

"Don’t shoot, I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you!"

"The warehouse is in the northern bedroom, guarded by our boss."

Recalling his arrogance from their first meeting, and then his current state, this man truly showed Vikram a textbook example of a complete turnaround.

Upon hearing this, having obtained all the useful information, Vikram put away his pistol.

Just as the man breathed a sigh of relief, suddenly, he felt a dizzying sensation, followed by rapidly approaching the wall...

"Wham!" His head spun a few times in the air, finally smashing heavily against the wall, leaving behind only a headless corpse still spraying blood.

There was nothing to think about. It was the miracle of Phantom Druid, before he became invisible again.

After doing all this, Vikram quickly glanced at the bio-scanner, finding that no red dots were moving, he nodded.

Now, only two rooms upstairs remained unexplored, but the previous commotion had been a bit loud.

Although the red dots in the other rooms on the bio-scanner hadn’t started moving yet, to avoid alerting the enemy, Vikram decided to change his position and check downstairs.

He crouched through the living room and descended the wooden stairs.

The downstairs decoration was similar to upstairs, even the layout was identical.

Four bedroom doors and the central living room.

He still chose a side room, but this time their good luck seemed to have run out.

Just as he opened the door, a long blade came chopping down at his head.

Fortunately for Vikram, the force was still ordinary; he merely raised his hand slightly, and with a flick of his wrist, deflected the force.

He easily diffused this seemingly terrifying strike.

However, the immediate threat was minor; the real danger gradually swept in as the tall, thin man in front of him let out a loud shout.

"Help, we’re under attack!!" Despite the man’s frail appearance, his voice was unexpectedly resonant.

The volume of this roar should be enough to wake up all the members in the entire shelter.

At this moment, Vikram couldn’t be bothered with these weaklings; Phantom Druid appeared there, before the few members could even swing their blade forward.

They were directly dismembered, before knowing what happened.

Seeing this, the ordinary members, who had initially intended to swarm them, all stopped in their tracks simultaneously.

"Stop them, don’t let those beasts escape." A roar echoed from behind, presumably an order from one of the high-ranking members.

But it was too late; because with each step of Vikram, many of the territory’s people had fallen down.

Leaving only those ordinary members looking at each other in bewilderment.

It seemed no one was willing to obey the high-ranking members’ orders to these Survivors.

Are you kidding? These Survivors were indeed the laborers of the Savage Wolf Shelter.

But after seeing that something was appearing and disappearing, and with each movement, their members fell on the ground like a mango from the tree. Who would dare to step forward?

They wouldn’t disobey simple tasks like chopping wood or mining, but asking them to die? No one would be that foolish.

They joined the Savage Wolf Shelter precisely to live well; how could they possibly die for the organization instead?
