Chapter 305 : What Did I Bite

Lin Xi slowly opened her bleary eyes, gazing up at the familiar ceiling. She was definitely in her own room—but why was she here?
She vaguely remembered drinking with Ling Ning last night, hoping to drown her sorrows. Thinking about why she’d wanted to forget, she felt a pang of sadness.
Feeling aches throughout her body, Lin Xi recalled something her boyfriend—no, ex-boyfriend—had mentioned. This must be a hangover. She couldn’t believe she’d gotten this drunk off just two cans of beer.
Frowning, she tried to recall what had happened after those two cans. She could only remember pushing something… and biting something. The one thing she clearly remembered was that it felt soft. But what was it?
Then, she noticed something odd—her hand was holding onto something soft and smooth. She instinctively turned her head and saw someone lying next to her. It could only be Ling Ning.
Seeing Ling Ning’s sleeping face, Lin Xi suddenly felt a sense of panic. Could this perverted freak have done something to her while she was drunk?
Alarmed, she pulled back the covers and saw that both she and Ling Ning were still fully dressed. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief. Nothing had happened. If she’d lost her first time without even realizing it, that would have been devastating. At the very least, she wanted to be fully conscious when that time came.
Lin Xi glanced at Ling Ning. Had she really held her hand all night?
Perhaps disturbed by Lin Xi’s movements, Ling Ning slowly opened her eyes, taking in the soft bed beneath her. She remembered sitting in a chair last night—how had she ended up in Lin Xi’s bed?
Thinking of Lin Xi, Ling Ning turned her head and saw her wide awake, staring at her with a blank expression.
“Thank you for last night,” Lin Xi said softly.
“Huh!?”
Ling Ning was taken aback. She’d expected Lin Xi to ask why she was in her bed, but a thank you left her stammering. After a long moment, she finally managed, “You… you’re welcome.”
While Ling Ning spoke, Lin Xi noticed a faint set of small teeth marks on her lower lip—only visible when she was talking.
“What happened to your lip?” Lin Xi asked, puzzled.
“Huh!?” Ling Ning froze, unsure how to answer. Should she say it was from Lin Xi’s drunken kiss last night? Judging by Lin Xi’s reaction, she didn’t remember what had happened. She’d better brush it off.
After all, being kissed by a drunk girl wasn’t exactly something to brag about.
“Oh, this? It’s, uh… from when I bumped my chin while helping you into bed. Yeah, that’s it!” Ling Ning laughed awkwardly.
Lin Xi had a feeling something was off, but her head was too foggy to think it through. She’d just have to figure it out later.
Seeing that Lin Xi wasn’t questioning her further, Ling Ning quickly got up, tossing the blanket aside. “I’ll go wash up and start breakfast. If you’re feeling bad, just rest a little longer.”
"Alright~"
As Ling Ning got out of bed, she felt sore all over, as if she’d done something strenuous the day before. Then she remembered chasing after Lin Xi, carrying her back home, and thankfully getting a massage last night. Without it, her aches might have been worse.
After Lin Xi lay down for a bit, Ling Ning opened the door and came back into the room.
"Um… do you have a spare toothbrush?" Ling Ning asked, a little embarrassed. She’d rushed into the bathroom earlier, only to realize she wasn’t at home.
Sighing, Lin Xi pulled back the covers, dug out an unopened toothbrush from her drawer, and handed it over. She’d just bought a pack of high-quality toothbrushes online, planning to use them herself. Oh well.
After grabbing the toothbrush, Lin Xi decided not to return to bed and joined Ling Ning in the bathroom to wash up. Instead of more sleep, she thought it’d be better to freshen up and go out for a walk to clear her head.
“Let’s just go out for breakfast.”
“Sure! But this time, you’re treating. Are you sure you’re okay to walk with your leg?”
Ling Ning was all for the idea of eating out. Her body ached, and she didn’t feel like doing anything. But as she realized walking would be involved, she felt a sudden reluctance, almost wanting to skip breakfast altogether.
“It’s fine. Isn’t that why you’re here?”
The moment she said it, Lin Xi realized it sounded a bit… intimate.
“I mean, since you’re around… No, that’s not it either!”
Seeing Lin Xi flustered, Ling Ning chuckled, “Alright, don’t overthink it. Let’s just go get breakfast. I barely ate anything last night.”
Blushing, Lin Xi mumbled, “So I overate a little—no need to bring it up the next day!”
Ling Ning laughed softly. She’d estimated Lin Xi had eaten enough for at least three or four people. If they’d had more food, she was pretty sure Lin Xi would have kept going.
Since her clothes had gone into the wash yesterday, Ling Ning wore Lin Xi’s. Despite always claiming she wasn’t interested in Lin Xi’s “scrawny” figure, the truth was Lin Xi’s shape was quite nice—curves in all the right places. Ling Ning’s snug fit in her clothes confirmed that.
The two were about to head out for breakfast and a walk when they ran into someone Lin Xi would have preferred to avoid.
“Lin Xi! Finally, you’re out!”
