Chapter 82: Proper Way Of Dealing With An Arrogant Rich Kid
Chapter 82
The doors behind him swung open with a loud bang. But, Alex didn’t even have to turn to know who it was. Just the all too familiar scent of a certain rich kid’s expensive cologne had already told him that the moron, who had apparently made it his life’s mission to be a nuisance had followed him.
"Not so fast!" Julian shouted as he marched toward Alex’s side. "I heard the name. Le Sommet Impérial penthouse. It’s a nice little spot, isn’t it? Well it just so happens that my father was looking for a new pied-à-terre in this district. I’ll take it for a million dollars in cold hard cash, right away."
The slightly chubby girl looked absolutely dazed. She clutched a folder to her chest as her eyes darted between the two men and stammered.
"Mr Vance... sir, I’m so sorry, but we already have a buyer in the middle of a consultation, and the listing was technically hi..."
"Read my lips, sweetheart. I don’t freaking care about that!" Julian interrupted, slamming his fist against the desk. "I am Julian Vance and my family’s name is always on the stadium you watch football in. My father has more connections in this city than you have hairs on your head. Now stop stuttering, get the papers, and process my freaking offer before I decide to buy this entire agency just so I can fire you personally."
Beside Julian, the elderly butler leaned in with a weary expression on his face.
"Young Master Julian, perhaps we should reconsider all this. Wasting that much amount just to spite an acquaintance is... Perhaps not the most prudent use of the family’s fund. Your father would not be pleased."
Julian just simply silenced him with a piercing, venomous glare, making the old man bow his head in submission.
Alex let out a slow sigh and rubbed the bridge of his nose before turning back slowly. He had genuinely tried to ignore this moron, but it seems like Julian’s desire to impress Renzo Kade outweighed his common sense.
As Alex turned, he subtly manipulated the atmosphere with his Deathfrost Bloom, making the temperature drop ten degrees without it being too obvious that he was using his ability.
"Why do you keep following me just to play the same stupid game, Julian? Can’t you think for yourself? Do you always have to serve as a lapdog for someone like Renzo, who clearly doesn’t even give two fucks about whether you live or die?"
Julian swallowed hard from the terrifying look in Alex’s green eyes, but he forced himself to act brave with the impression that his bodyguard would not let anything happen to him.
"I... I told you," Julian stammered, his voice regaining some of its shrill arrogance. "I’ll put peasants like you in their place. Besides, do you think just because you’ve got a little bit of Nyx’s pocket change that you’re something? You don’t understand how powerful the Kade family is. Just a member like Renzo could end your miserable excuse of a life with a snap of his fingers. So me helping him to bully you is none of your business."
Alex almost burst out into laughter.
"None of my business? You call disturbing me for the past thirty minutes none of my business? Look I’ve been patient Julian. I really have. So I’m giving you one last chance. Just walk through those doors and leave now, and I guarantee that nothing bad will happen to you today. But if you push me..."
His voice instantly turned an octave lower.
"I’ll make sure you never talk again in your pathetic excuse of a life."
Julian sneered, emboldened by the presence of his skilled bodyguard behind him and took a step forward.
"Hmph. And what can you do, peasant? You talk big, but do you think you can do anything with my bodyguard here? Let me tell you something, he was once a former special force operative. So he’ll just turn you to a pretzel in ten seconds without lifting a finger. In fact, for even daring to threaten me just now. Stone, go show him what happens..."
Julian didn’t even get a second to finish that sentence.
In a speed that no human eye in that room could follow, Alex bridged the gap. His hands shot out like a viper toward Julian’s neck, then his fingers instantly wrapped around his throat like a vice.
With pure, raw strength that looked totally inhumane, Alex lifted the 160 pound man off the ground with a single hand like he weighed absolutely nothing.
Julian’s feet dangled uselessly in the air as his face began turning a dangerous shade of purple with every tightening of Alex’s grip.
"Release him!" The bodyguard roared.
He moved forward with the speed of a veteran special force soldier and swung his massive fist towards Alex’s jaw, with the aim of forcing him to release Julian.
But Alex didn’t even look at him. Just as the fist whistled through the air, Alex lifted his legs and gave a perfectly timed side-kick at the charging bodyguard.
The bodyguard caught off guard by the unexpected blow was struck squarely in the shoulder.
Crack
The sound of his Joint popping out of its socket echoed throughout the room as the 200+ pound man was sent flying back. He crashed into the far wall, with his dislocated shoulder completely shattering the decorative wood paneling. Then he slumped to the ground, clutching his dislocated, mangled arm with gritted teeth, even though the pain currently hurt like hell.
The butler let out a choked cry and fell to his knees, begging.
"Please! Please, sir! He is just a boy! Don’t kill him! I beg of you! I promise that I’ll personally take him out of your presence, good sir! Please just release him!"
Alex remained indifferent to his pleas. He just turned his attention back to Julian, who was clawing desperately at his arm with wide bulging eyes as he struggled for a breath of good old oxygen.
Alex’s expression remained cold as he watched with indifference as the light in Julian’s eyes began to go down, and his body movement gradually turned more and more sluggish with each passing second.
Then just as Julian’s eyes were about to roll back into his head, Alex opened his hand.
Julian hit the floor like a sack of wet flour, gasping and retching as hair finally rushed back into his lungs. He curled into a fetal position, sobbing and clutching his aching throat.
"Consider this mercy," Alex said, while looking down at the shivering wreck. "The next time you decide to play young master in front of me, I won’t stop until I hear the sound of your neck snapping. Now take your broken man and your servant, and get the hell out of my sight before I change my mind."
The butler scrambled over, helping the half-conscious Julian to his feet, while the bodyguard gritted his teeth and forced himself up despite the unbearable pain.
They didn’t say another word or even dare look back. They just scurried out of the place like rats fleeing a drowning shop.
The silence that followed was really thick and heavy like that of a graveyard or at the very least close to that. Alex turned back toward the chubby sales girl who was shaking so hard that the papers in her hand were rattling like dry leaves in autumn. She looked at him with a mixture of awe and sheer terror.
"Now, about Le Sommet Impérial. I believe we were talking about checking the house out, before I sign the final paperwork."
"Y-yes! Of course sir!" She squeaked, moving with a sudden, frantic energy. "Right this way! Let me show you the penthouse personally."
Soon, they toured through the luxury building that was nothing short of spectacular. Le Sommet Impérial was a masterpiece of 2009 luxury. The penthouse was a sprawling, open concept heaven with dark ebony floors and floor to ceiling windows that offered a 360 degree view of the city.
It was fully furnished with top tier Italian leather sofas, a kitchen equipped with professional grade appliances that hadn’t even been used yet, and a master bedroom that felt like heaven itself.
Alex couldn’t conceal the glee in his eyes as he took in the place that was about to become his. It was all just so unbelievable. Just some weeks back, he was a poor college kid living in a cheap rental apartment, but now here he was, about to become the owner of a luxury penthouse.
As they finally ascended in the private, gold-leafed elevator to check the top floor, the chibi materialized again, floating upside down in front of Alex’s face with a wide, mischievous grin.
[Well, well. That was quite the show! I have to admit. You really have a knack for that kind of vicious overlord aesthetic. Did you see how red his face got? He looked like a very expensive beet! Haha!]
’He was really annoying. Besides, I wasn’t really in the mood to kill someone. If not I would have made him drop at least five million dollars for disturbing me like a stupid fly before letting him go.’
[Tsk. You really are greedy and wicked. But I love it... And just look at the size of this place, it’s so beautiful]
’No. It’s perfect.’ Alex corrected her while watching the wide glimmering swimming pool at the top of the building, with faint tears in his eyes.
Within hours, Alex paid the full payment and finally signed the official property deed, making him the official owner of Le Sommet Impérial.
"With my new home finally secured, let’s head to the car dealership shop and go buy my dream car."
[Finally! let’s go. I was even beginning to grow tired of watching you admire the house without resting for a single second]
