Chapter 163: Blood for the Baroness
Belladonna’s razor sharp teeth tore through skin with barely a hint of resistance, immediately finding the veins and tapping into them. Her victim squirmed in her grasp, trying to call for help or to push her away.
But his arms dropped limply to his side and his desperate cries spurted from his throat into her mouth, along with his blood.
She drank down every single drop, revelling in the magnificent taste, sucking it up as she drained his body steadily. A Scrying skull floated nearby, capturing the horror in her victims eyes as the light gradually left them.
Letting its audience, who were watching through a live stream it was recording, witness his body rapidly shrivelling up. His muscles losing mass, his skin wrinkling and clinging to the bone and his eyes sinking into his skull, until he looked like nothing more than a human raisin.
Once he was completely drained and useless, Belladonna ripped her teeth from his throat and tossed him to the side like an empty juice box. Her long, pointed and prehensile tongue snaked from her mouth and glided over her teeth, not wanting to miss a drop of the blood that still lingered on them.
While the audience were raptured and excited by the grotesque visage, the man that this Scrying skull belonged to was instead filled with the correct emotion. Horrifying dread.
Ladiesman217 watched with wide eyes and a pale face, as the monster that he had met on the first day finally shed her skin. Literally.
Claws bursting from her fingers, her cheeks ripping apart and her eyes becoming soulless black voids. He could still remember the sinister smile she had given him, on the first day of the beta test, before she tore her own throat out with her knife.
In fact, he could see that same smile reflected on the monstrous grin now permanently carved across this demons face. Previously she had been a monster in human skin... now she didn’t even have that anymore.
In the corner of his eye, Ladiesman217 could see the comments rapidly coming in. Ranging between exclamations of excitement, various different emoji’s and gifs, as well as dozens of different questions.
He brought the Scrying Skull back over to him, watching the monster from what he assumed to be a safe distance as he muttered under his breath to the audience.
"Dear Viewers, I give to you the fabled Baroness of Blood. Yes, that one. The beta tester with the strange journal of butchery and blood. The one who spent the first hour carving herself up... simply for fun.
I’ve seen her attack someone else before... But this is new even for me."
His voice trembled slightly as he spoke, trying to keep up his professionalism even now, however his usual cocky attitude coupled with overflowing confidence in his own brilliance had faded away, replaced by the genuine fear he felt.
If his viewers could feel the disturbing aura emanating from this monster, an aura of bloodlust and mania that made her feel like one of the elite enemies they had encountered, then maybe they wouldn’t have been spamming such moronic comments. Such as demands for him to go seduce her, or simply commenting on her tongue and getting a little too in depth with their fantasies, even for the internet.
As if she could feel his stares, or even worse as if she could hear the idiotic comments his viewers were making about her, the Baroness whipped her head around and stared directly at Ladiesman217 with those black, soulless orbs.
She tilted her head, regarding him curiously, as his heart began to palpitate in his chest and his body couldn’t quite decide between running or wetting himself.
However the death he was expecting from her never came. Instead she pulled something from inside her armour, what looked like a fountain pen with a strange nib as if it was made of crystal, and immediately stabbed it into her palm.
Ladiesman217, and a few people at home watching, couldn’t help but wince at the stab and especially once she started to wriggle it around, as if she was trying to dig something out.
After a few seconds, she ripped the pen out, spraying blood into the air, as she immediately started to wave pen around like a magic wand. It would have seemed ridiculous, had it not been for the fact that the pen left a trail of blood suspended in the air where she moved it.
Her hand moved like a blur, rapidly tracing out a circle and began to populate it with lines and strange runes.
Ladiesman217 watched with a mix of confusion and curiosity, not just confused at what she was doing but how she was even doing it. However a moment later, a comment from an observant viewer caught his attention amongst the spam of lewd comments.
{Is it just me, or is she copying the dragons spell?}
Ladiesman217 narrowed his eyes at the circle, analysing it closely as he recalled the spell the dragon had just cast.
"Holy crap..." He muttered, his eyes widening, "They’re right. She’s copying the dragons spell exactly. Does that mean she can..."
He let out a panicked yelp, immediately finding something to hold onto again. However the same viewer chimed in once again.
{No wait... It’s not exactly the same. I’m looking at the archive now....One of the symbols changed. Some of those are new too! Yeah, something has definitely changed! She’s altering the spell. Is that even possible??}
Ladiesman217 had no answer to that, so he simply watched in awed silence as the monster before him put the finishing touches on her spell circle.
With a flick of the wrist, she drew the last symbol in suspended blood and then placed her pen away. She raised a single claw, tapping it against the centre of the magic blood circle, which immediately began to light up as power flowed through its lines.
As the spell started to take effect, although what effect he had no idea yet, the Baroness threw back her head and arched her back. Her mouth stretched open as it let loose an otherworldly screech like rusty nails down a chalkboard, as if celebrating her feat of mage craft.
Then, without waiting to see the results of her work, she burst forwards. The ground exploding where she once stood as she rushed across the field like a blur.
She leapt into the air, claws primed and ready to strike, only to be met with the Dragon’s tail that was already rushing towards her. It cracked like a whip as it struck her and just like that, the Baroness of Blood was launched to the side and crashed through fields of smouldering crops.
She bounced across the ground like a skimming stone, until she finally crashed through the wall of a farm house hundreds of metres away before it collapsed down on top of her.
Ladiesman217 winced slightly from the thought of how much that must have hurt, already assuming that she had to have died from the hit like everyone else that had been struck by it. Closing the book on the Baroness, he turned his attention back to the magic circle and his eyes immediately widened in shock as they trailed up higher, to what floated above the circle.
