Remarriage Failed Again Today

As if he’d spotted her, Leona Grant steered the helicopter in her direction.

As it drew near, Leona Grant had the bodyguard beside him take the controls. Then, the cabin door opened, and he descended the automatically extending stairs to stand before Annabelle Linton.

He walked over and embraced her, giving her a quick kiss on the lips. "Good morning, Annabelle."

Annabelle Linton kissed him back, her eyes fixed on the helicopter. She mumbled a perfunctory "Good morning" before asking, "What’s all this?"

It was the weekend, so Leona Grant didn’t have to go to work.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pointed at the helicopter, saying, "I’m giving your helicopter a test flight for you."

"Mine?" Annabelle Linton was confused. "What do you mean?"

’I don’t remember owning a helicopter.’

Seeing her bewildered expression, Leona Grant couldn’t resist caressing her cheek. "This is the helicopter I’m giving you," he said. "Do you like it?"

Annabelle Linton’s eyes widened in shock. ’She simply couldn’t fathom it. Who on earth gives a helicopter as a gift?’

With that, Leona Grant swept her up into his arms, intending to carry her from the balcony into the helicopter.

Annabelle Linton let out a startled cry. "What are you doing?"

"Taking you for a spin."

"Can I at least change my clothes and wash up first?"

’I just woke up! I’m still in my pajamas and I haven’t even washed my face. Any woman who cares about her appearance wouldn’t just run outside without getting ready first, right?’

Leona Grant glanced down, and seeing her pajamas, he couldn’t help but chuckle.

He honestly hadn’t noticed.

The moment he set her down, Annabelle Linton dashed inside to get ready.

Just as he always did, Leona Grant picked out an outfit for her. After Annabelle put it on, he zipped up the back of her dress.

Annabelle wasn’t actually a big fan of dresses like this, since they were inconvenient to put on and take off.

But Leona Grant loved them, so most of the items in her closet were this style. He liked zipping them up for her, and most importantly...

It was a chance to get a little handsy.

They boarded the helicopter. The interior wasn’t particularly spacious, containing only a few seats, but the materials and craftsmanship were top-notch. One look was enough to tell it was outrageously expensive—worth at least a hundred million.

The helicopter slowly ascended. Watching the landscape shrink below them was a breathtaking sight.

It was a view you could never get from an airliner.

Annabelle took out her phone and snapped a few pictures. While she was at it, she took a few of Leona Grant as well.

"How is it?"

She was busy photographing the surrounding clouds when Leona Grant came over and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

"It’s great," Annabelle replied, snapping a few more photos.

Once she was done, she intended to check if they were any good—if not, she’d take a few more. But just as she was about to look, Leona Grant’s hand, with its well-defined knuckles, moved first and plucked the phone from her grasp.

He scrolled through the photos one by one. When he came across the ones of himself, he grinned mischievously. "Well now, it seems someone was taking sneaky pictures of me. Did you get my permission for such a blatant violation of my image rights?"

The tips of Annabelle’s ears immediately flushed red.

Flustered and indignant, she tried to snatch the phone back, but Leona Grant dodged her with ease.

’In truth, this wasn’t the first time she had secretly taken pictures of him. How mortifying would it be if anyone found out!’

"My phone is private! Quick, give it back to me."

Annabelle lunged after him, but Leona Grant simply sidestepped her. He continued scrolling through her phone; the further back he went, the more his expression soured with mock disdain, yet the more moved he felt.
