Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 702: I Won’t Leave You Either

After finally getting off work, the two of them bought some groceries and went home to cook together.

Since they had cooked together a few times now, Leona Grant had graduated from only making a mess to occasionally lending a hand. He could even fry an egg when needed.

Watching the couple work so harmoniously together in the kitchen, one of the maids nervously asked Madam King, "Madam King, do you think the young master will fire me?"

She was getting paid for doing nothing, and it was making her feel a bit insecure.

In the kitchen, Leona Grant announced that he wanted to stir-fry a dish too. Since his hands were full, he asked Annabelle Linton to tie his apron for him.

Annabelle Linton lowered her head to tie it, and the movement brought her whole body flush against his.

Feeling the warmth of her body, Leona Grant couldn’t resist planting a kiss on her forehead.

Annabelle Linton gave him a fondly exasperated smile.

The atmosphere between them was so beautiful. If nothing changed, they would surely be this happy for the rest of their lives.

Madam King watched the busy couple in the kitchen with an envious smile. "Don’t worry," she said. "He won’t."

Back in the kitchen, whatever Leona Grant said he wanted to eat, Annabelle Linton could whip it up for him. He was a little stunned.

He knew she was a good homemaker, but he never realized she was *this* good.

’It looked like he’d really hit the jackpot.’

During dinner, they placed food on each other’s plates and even fed one another bites. The atmosphere was incredibly warm, and Leona Grant couldn’t stop praising the food as he ate.

Watching him praise every single dish he tried, Annabelle Linton couldn’t help but laugh. "Leona Grant, why are you eating like you’ve been starved for lifetimes?"

Leona Grant smiled. "But my wife made this. Food made by my wife is the best."

"Then I’ll just have to cook for you more often."

Leona Grant grinned. "Okay."

After dinner, the two of them took a walk in the garden.

Leona Grant walked behind her, his gaze fixed on her, unable to look away for even a second. They strolled for over half an hour before heading back inside to sleep.

After their showers, Leona Grant held her as they lay in bed. Listening to her soft breathing, he pulled her even closer.

He reached down, lifted her leg, and placed it over his own.

He used to hate being touched while he slept and never liked sharing a bed with anyone. But ever since he’d been with Annabelle Linton, he found he couldn’t fall asleep without her.

Only when he felt the warmth of her leg on his did he feel secure.

Leona Grant slipped one arm under her head as a pillow, took her hand with his other and placed it on his waist, then rested his hand on her back, holding her tight.

Annabelle, in turn, clung to him like a giant octopus.

Their bodies and breaths intertwined, and only then did Leona Grant slowly close his eyes.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, he heard Annabelle Linton’s soft voice whisper, "Leona Grant, I’ll never leave you."

Hearing her words, Leona Grant couldn’t stop the corners of his mouth from turning up. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"I’ll never leave you, either."

...

The next day, Annabelle Linton was woken by a clamorous noise.

Leona Grant was already long gone from the spot beside her.

The RUMBLING outside grew louder and louder. Annabelle Linton got out of bed and walked onto the balcony, only to find that the source of the noise was a helicopter circling overhead.

The sun was blinding. Shielding her eyes from the glare, she looked up and was shocked to discover that the person piloting the helicopter was Leona Grant.
