Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 701: For You, I Am Willing to Give Up Treatment

Leona Grant pulled her up from the chair, then hugged her and sat her on his lap. His voice was laden with emotion as he said, "What am I going to do? You’re right here beside me, but I still can’t stop looking at you. When you’re here, I can’t focus on work. But when you go home, my heart just follows you. I think I’m a lost cause..."

Annabelle looked at him and said with a smile, "Then you could quit, starting now."

Leona Grant hugged her, burying his face in the crook of her neck to breathe in her scent. His voice was low and husky as he said, "No way. That sounds too hard. I can’t torture myself like that. I think I’ll just keep going like this. It feels good, anyway."

"You’re a hopeless case, Young Master Grant."

Leona Grant gave her a kiss and said gently, "For you, I’m willing to give up on treatment."

Annabelle gazed at the deep affection in his eyes and couldn’t help but laugh. "Seriously? You’re just handing out sweet nothings for free these days, Young Master Grant. How can I possibly accept all this?"

"I have plenty more. I can tell you all of them, little by little. Do you want to hear?"

Annabelle quickly waved her hand. "Never mind, never mind. You should get back to work. We can talk about this later."

Her reaction made Leona Grant laugh. He chuckled and asked, "What did you just call me? ’Young Master Grant’?"

"Nothing. You heard wrong."

Leona Grant looked at her beautiful face and said with a smile, "How about this? I’ll ask you a question. If you answer correctly, we’ll get right to work."

Annabelle was truly afraid of his questions now. ’That last time, with the "soft" thing...’

The memory made Annabelle flush with embarrassment, and she tried to get up from his lap.

But there was no way Leona Grant was letting her go that easily. He looked at her face, which remained as impassive as ever, and couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration.

’She’s the most poker-faced woman I’ve ever met in my life.’

But her bright red ears gave her away.

Leona Grant gently squeezed her earlobe, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. "Tell me, Annabelle. Is your mind in the gutter?"

Feeling how hot her ear was, he couldn’t hold back his laughter. "I was just going to ask what you were doing on the computer. Why are your ears so red? Don’t tell me..."

Before Leona Grant could finish, Annabelle silenced him with a kiss.

A delighted laugh escaped Leona Grant, and his heart swelled with warmth.

’He realized just how much he adored her. So much that it felt impossible to love her any more than he already did. So much that he was a lost cause.’

’He missed her when he couldn’t see her. He longed to hear her voice when she was quiet. Every single thing about her, no matter how trivial, stirred something unique within his heart.’

’He loved her so, so much.’

’He loved her so much that he was confident, absolutely confident, that no one in the entire world could possibly love her more than he did.’

’So, Annabelle, I’ve given you everything I possibly can, holding nothing back. You can’t let me down, okay?’

Seeing the deep affection on his face was, in truth, a burden for Annabelle.

’If she could, she’d wish he didn’t love her so intensely, that he wasn’t so clingy.’

’Because she couldn’t shake the feeling that they weren’t going to be together forever.’

Annabelle furrowed her brow at the thought. ’Why do I keep feeling this way?’

’And it was getting stronger and stronger each time.’

’They say that to love someone deeply is to be plagued by the fear of losing them.’

Her heart heavy, she closed her eyes. ’I hope this is all just in my head.’
