Chapter 133—Experience in the Library.
The feeling grew when Cole stayed in the library, but he didn’t rush to leave since he couldn’t take any danger from that feeling.
It was just like a sort of connection was being established.
Having a deep interest in finding out what was actually going on, Cole quickly paid the academy points needed to enter the library and proceeded to the second floor.
The instant Cole got to the second floor, Cole’s eyes widened in shock instantly as he felt the feeling intensify.
The previous anger welling in his heart had temporarily subsided, and now in its place was confusion.
He was confused as to what was going on, but there was something he was actually sure about: it was due to the codex.
The last time Cole was here was when he wanted to advance and was busy reading, and after that he left in a rush.
Now that he was back here, a sort of resonance seemed to be happening from his Innate Spirit to the library.
Finally, after about fifteen minutes, Cole felt the resonance stabilize and a connection become formed between the codex and something in the library.
But Cole could feel the connection; he had no idea what had changed after it was established, so there was nothing for him to do.
He tried interacting with the connection using his life energy, but he couldn’t feel anything at all. There was no reaction in any way.
"What the hell does this do then?" he wondered.
He kept trying all sorts of things, but none of them actually seemed to be what was actually needed, so he finally resorted to what he always did.
"Let’s try some cultivation then."
He sat in a lotus position and slowly began chanting the world Absorbing Mantra and it was at that moment that Cole felt something.
He could feel his Cultivation speed increase by quite a bit; the change wasn’t so exaggerated that it increased it by multiple times, but it was large enough to be noticed.
"This is nice," Cole said with a smile.
But the smile on his face slowly vanished as he felt the connection seeming to be disappearing.
"No no no, this is nice," Cole said in a frown.
Knowing there was nothing he could do about it, Cole decided to make the best use of the opportunity.
He then increased his chant of the mantra to a fast speed, attracting a large amount of Life energy to Cole. The amount was so much that Cole could feel a small vortex forming around him.
He knew it might attract trouble, but he wouldn’t mind at all if it would bring him an increase in strength.
"I need all the strength I can get as fast as possible," he said to himself.
He remained in a state of cultivation for about an hour before he felt the final effects of the connection finally disappear.
Cole slowly opened his eyes with a bit of disappointment, but there’s just no way he could force the connection again.
"I don’t even know what it connected to."
He tried remembering the feeling again, but his mind was slowly being occupied by the thoughts of Sylvester’s actions; he was about to slowly relish in the thought and make plans when he was interrupted by a voice in his head.
"How was the session?" the familiar voice said in his head.
The voice was that of the man that saved while he was advancing that time and stopped the fight in the library.
"I have seen a few people have a connection to this place over the years, but I haven’t seen any just like you yet."
"They were all in their fourth years but you. You are just in your first year, and you managed to do that."
"Impressive,"
While the voice spoke, Cole could only sit in silence and listen to the man say all he wanted to since he wasn’t feeling any hostility.
"Though the time was shorter, I think you will get more in the future," the voice continued.
"What exactly was that elder?" Cole asked.
Silence reigned for a bit in Cole’s mind until he suddenly heard a voice ring out again.
"That... that is something you don’t have the right to know,"
"Don’t even try searching for it; you might die. " The elder said in a grim tone.
Cole immediately also grew solemn since he didn’t expect him to have come into contact with something like that so suddenly.
"Now it’s my turn to ask questions," Cole heard the voice say gently.
His thoughts sprung into action as he quickly tried figuring out what the elder wanted to say.
"You were the one that created that vortex, right?" He asked.
Cole didn’t have any idea what to respond with; he only nodded his head softly.
"Hahaha, things are really going to get interesting very soon," the elder said as his voice slowly faded.
After saying that last statement, the voice completely left Cole’s mind, leaving him alone sitting in the library.
Cole instantly stood to his feet and began heading out of the library. He came here to calm his thoughts, but he was met with another thing that made him give himself something else to worry about.
"I think it is time to head back home," he said while he looked outside.
While heading home, Cole’s mind was occupied by two separate events, the event with Sylvester and then his experience in the library.
Being Caught up in all of those thoughts didn’t give Cole the chance to pay attention to anything, and soon enough he arrived back where he felt a little safe.
Cole stood at the bottom of his hostel and looked up at the top with a solemn expression.
"Sigh," he made out before heading in.
He climbed the steps in a fluid motion, and in no time, he arrived at the entrance to his room.
"I hope Bryan is inside," he thought.
Cole instantly entered the room and turned to look at Bryan’s side of the room before saying in a curt voice.
"I need your help capturing Sylvester," He said in a straight voice.
"Huhh," Bryan said in confusion.
