The Flower Is Finished

Chapter 39 - 39: Turning history

While I treated her wounds again, I also looked for a way for her to get out of this house, and I was also confused about how to take Lani away from this forest.

"Do you already feel comfortable?" I asked her after I carried Lani back inside and tried to make her not feel pressured.

"Yes, I already feel better," she answered softly, and I nodded my head.

"Alright, it's better for us to rest here first, and tomorrow I will look for a way out so I can take you away from here," I said to her, and she enthusiastically nodded and pulled the blanket that I had prepared for her.

"Do I need to tell you a fairy tale?" I asked with a thin smile, and she immediately glared at me.

"Even though I am a child, I don't like being told fairy tales that make my brain stupid." After that, she pulled the blanket and completely covered her whole body, while I shook my head and smiled slightly when I saw that she no longer wanted to be treated like a child by me.

"After all, you seem to be about the same age as Lira," I said while shaking my head, and meanwhile I slept in her room to observe her condition.

It was getting darker and the sound of birds chirping. I still couldn't sleep, so I turned my head toward Lany who was already sleeping soundly.

I got up from the bed and went out for a moment. It seemed that tonight it would rain soon after I saw the clouds were very dark, and occasionally the sound of birds was heard very clearly in this forest.

"Bird… come out. I want to talk to you," I shouted loudly, but minutes passed and the bird did not come. I had even waited almost five minutes.

"Come out. I want to talk to you!" I shouted once again, but the bird remained silent. There were no signs that the bird would come here, and that made me bow my head weakly.

"How can I take Lani away from here?" I said with a weary face, because I had just faced something like this, so a sense of despair made me remember what the Elder had said.

"Do you still not want to be present here accompanying me in the middle of the arts that make me lulled by loneliness?"

"I don't… I can't even speak." I lowered my head, and a feeling of longing surged in my chest when I remembered memories with Lira, who might be missing me as well right now.

"Have you given up?" Suddenly the bird perched on a tree not far from me. Close… and then it came down to the ground, and I raised my head and saw it pecking at the soil.

"So you finally appeared," I said to it, and it glared in my direction.

"Forgive me, I also did not know," it said, and I nodded my head because I could not blame the bird.

"So what is your plan?" I asked it, while it remained silent.

"We must get out of here first, and then we will look for Xandars."

"Have you ever seen a flower on top of a tree?" the bird said to me, and I nodded, although I was not sure I could find that flower.

"You must look for that flower, and then Lani will be able to get out of here." I had indeed read about it, but it was a type of flower that was very rare. Even though it was not guarded by forest guardians, the flower was indeed quite difficult to obtain, considering that it only grew on trees and not all trees could be grown by that flower.

"You are telling me to look for that flower?" I said again, and it sighed roughly.

"Yes, you only have one day to find that flower. I think Agis will come here soon, and at that moment you will feel the same as what Lani experienced." I pressed my lips together and my eyes widened when the bird said that.

"So Lani is an adult woman who turned into a child?" I asked, interpreting the bird's words.

"I don't know, but from her way of speaking, she does not seem like a child, and her face is also very similar to Lira." Apparently the bird realized it, and I smiled thinly.

"As for looking alike, I admit it, but I am not sure that they are two siblings bound to each other. But indeed, from the way she thinks, she is more mature, and I also don't see her as a child in general." Then the bird nodded and flew back into the darkness.

I kept staring at the stars that sparkled in the middle of the darkness. I stood up from my seat and went back inside. I went through the rooms one by one, reading the books, and I also found the picture of the flower mentioned by the bird.

It turned out that the flower was purple and white, and besides that, it was a flower used to open a seal when you eat the flower.

"So you kept it here." I looked carefully at the picture of the flower mentioned by the bird.

Occasionally I yawned as there were still a few pages left.

I tried to hold back my sleepiness and also read the reason why the flower still existed until now.

I fell asleep, and when I woke up, it turned out that the sun was almost rising. I immediately hurried to check on Lany.

I immediately got up to check Lani's condition, but she was still unconscious, while her body was bluish-purple in color.

In panic, I tried to wake Lani. Slowly she opened her eyes sadly, and her face was pale and her lips were purple.

"Lani, do you feel pain in a certain part?" I asked her, and she weakly nodded and then pointed with the corner of her eyes toward her chest.

"Yes, I feel pain here," she said hoarsely, and I immediately hurried to take compress water to lower her body heat.

"I will find medicine for you." After that, I rushed into the kitchen and started taking cold water to lower her temperature.

I mixed several herbal plants that could reduce her heat, and I told her to drink the herbal medicine.

Half an hour passed, and after I gave her the medicine, I immediately spoke to Lani.

"Lani, I promise I will take you away from here, but before that, did he ever tell you where the purple and white flower is?" I asked while looking at her seriously. Lani tried to remember the flower that Agis had once told her about, and vaguely that memory returned.

"Purple and white flower?" she asked again, and I nodded enthusiastically when she seemed to know about that flower.

"Don't you know about that flower? Because I read last night that the flower is in this forest."

"I have read about it, and he also told me about it, but I have never found that flower."

"Did he ever tell you where it grows?" I hoped she would tell me spiritually, so I would not waste time.

"Yes, he once said it. Many large trees with rough bark, high altitude, morning fog often appears," she said while remembering all the words Agis had said to her.

"Are there no other characteristics?" Then she nodded slowly while shaking her head.

"That's what he told me, but I once searched for it according to those characteristics, and I almost died being attacked by wild animals in the forest." I could only breathe roughly, still trying to find where the plant grows, but it seemed that I had to know every area of this forest so I could easily get the flower.

"The characteristics you mentioned earlier, do you know a place in this forest like that?" I asked, trying to remember a place that would fit that location.

"According to the story, the flower is not guarded, but to take it requires intelligence beyond humans."

"And I also know where a location that matches those forest characteristics is." She looked very doubtful. I could see it from her eyes, but she also seemed to have hope like me.

"That place is quite far from here and…"
