My Tribrid System: More than a Monster

Chapter 486 - 484

Chapter 484

After rounding them up, it didn’t take long for Captain Ella to call their transports.

Several hover cars soon lined up outside the trial room.

The cohort, which included Ray, Trisha, Van, and Kai, entered one together.

The remaining group took another transport, with Captain Ella seated alongside them.

The Vanguard members entered a third.

Once everyone was inside, the vehicles moved forward at astonishing speed.

WHOOSH!

Buildings immediately began to blur past their eyes as the hover cars accelerated through the streets.

Wall Diamond was a megacity.

Its futuristic settings made Wall Steel look like a medieval settlement, while Wall Rose, which already seemed medieval compared to Wall Steel, would probably look like it came from ancient times at this point.

Private aircraft sped across the sky overhead.

Hundreds of luxury hover cars bearing different symbols rushed past them, many of which were clearly famous vehicles belonging to powerful and influential figures.

Their own hover vehicles remained steadily on the road as hundreds of beautiful buildings rushed past them.

Supermarkets.

Famous cinema houses.

Opera houses.

Luxury estates.

Name it, and you would likely find it somewhere in Wall Diamond.

"That there is where the retired and past Captains, along with Generals, live."

Kai pointed toward a massive estate as they zoomed past a street.

The place looked somewhat like a military barracks, but with a heavy touch of estate-like beauty.

As they passed different impressive locations, Kai continued pointing them out and explaining what they were and, whenever relevant, which notable figure occupied them.

For a moment, Ray was about to ask how Kai knew all of this.

Then he remembered.

The boy also came from a mysterious Legacy family—one powerful enough to elicit such strong emotions from Caster Kyre.

Van, meanwhile, was visibly gawking through the window.

His eyes shone as he took in the advanced, almost futuristic technology surrounding them.

"Which corporation is that?" Van suddenly asked as he caught sight of a tremendously tall building whose tip almost pierced the clouds.

A blue orb rested at the top of the tower, pulsating with energy every now and then.

"That tower is what powers the whole of Alcatraz," Kai explained.

"It was created by the Blue family, and for decades, it has never been destroyed, touched, or even run out of energy."

He glanced toward the tower.

"How did they do this? It’s unknown. But that orb seems to possess tremendous energy, though. So I heard."

The building quickly became a blur behind them.

"Wow."

Van uttered the word with a wide-ass grin plastered across his face.

He continued staring out the window like an excited kid on an excursion.

Ray, too, wanted to look through the window.

But something else demanded his attention.

His system.

It had been going off nonstop, even before they got into the cars.

During his containment, Ray had surfed through his system over and over.

Unfortunately, after the invasion, he hadn’t received a reward at all.

And there was a simple reason for that.

He hadn’t completed the objective of defeating fifty Aberrants.

Instead, he had only managed to defeat forty.

So the quest had been put on hold.

Even after he managed to send Silver running away, the quest remained greyed out.

Ray had spent his time conversing with the system, wondering if there might be some kind of penalty for his failure.

Alas.

His system had remained as silent as it could be.

Only Elyon had spoken to him while Bruce had sunk into his dark corner, refusing to show himself for some strange reason.

But now, after his trial, his system had suddenly started going off continuously.

And with the journey to the Vanguard’s base giving him some free time, Ray finally had the chance to sort through it.

[Congratulations! Secret quest completed.]

Ray’s eyebrows rose.

’Secret quest?’

Now that he thought about it, he turned toward the quest concerning the invasion.

The counter had opened up again.

[Enemies defeated; 40/150]

’Huh?’

Ray stared at the screen.

’A hundred and fifty? TF? How did it increase, and why?’

The system immediately responded.

[Host has managed to survive the trial of being executed by humanity, so the system wants to pardon him and not give him a penalty for not completing the quest.]

[Instead, the generous Tribrid System will reward host for his efforts during the invasion and also surviving the trial by giving host some sweet rewards.]

Ray’s expression twitched.

’Cocky.’

[Rewards: +30,000 EXP; +10 Free Stats; +50 Energy Points; +2 Bloodline Skills; +1 New Attribute Stat.]

’Huh? A new attribute has been unlocked?’

Ray’s eyes lit up with excitement.

Without hesitation, he pulled open his status screen.

======

’Huh? What’s that stat, System?’

[The Vitality stat helps to keep Host’s bodily functions in check. It determines how quickly Host can recover from damages and also determines how much HP Host can possess.]

’HP? Meaning?’

[Check your HP now.]

Ray lifted a brow.

He still didn’t understand what the system was getting at, but nevertheless, he opened his HP tab.

[HP: 200 >> 700/700]

Ray’s eyes widened.

’What the hell? How did it increase so much? I only get HP points after each evolution, though.’

[Yes. But now, with the Vitality stat, each point you invest into the stat will yield five points to your HP.]

’So-So I can tank more hits without worrying about dying so quickly?’

A grin slowly spread across Ray’s face.

’Hahaha! Wonderful. And I even got some sweet stat points to test this with.’

He immediately checked his free stat points.

Ray wasted no time before coming to a decision.

[+5 VIT]

[Stat Points: 5]

Ray watched as the VIT counter increased.

[VIT: 105]

His eyes quickly shifted toward his HP bar.

The grin on his face widened.

[HP: 725/725]

’Lovely.’

His grin grew even wider.

’Simply wonderful.’

Ray waved the system away from his sight.

He decided to store the remaining five points for now.

He would allocate them with peace of mind once he was done.

Soon after, the car came to a smooth halt without so much as a bump or discomfort to its passengers.

The driver then announced:

"We are here."
