THE GOD EATER

As he closed his eyes to sleep, he felt something smash into him. The feeling was stark, clear, and painful. So it jolted him awake and put him in a combat-ready state.

He stood up immediately and began looking around for the source of the attack. His head swerved left and right, looking for what had attacked him.

He is currently in a room in the heavenly city, and it is an expensive room too, so security should be top-notch. There was even an array for alerting to intruders and another one for blocking unauthorized intrusion into the house. But none of these seemed to have worked.

Not only had someone or something gained access to the room without his permission, but they had also done so without alerting him. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he couldn’t find the source of the attack, no matter how much he looked around.

He could still feel something attacking him from every direction. Every inch of his skin was being attacked by something. Yet, he couldn’t see that thing.

It was as if he had been dropped into a volcano. But the volcano was invisible. So he could only feel immense heat and pressure, but he couldn’t tell where the heat and pressure were coming from.

He quickly realized that the only reason he could tell that he was being attacked was because of the ability of the Shifting Armor to defend against any type of attack. This was confirmed when his second skin began to crack.

When he noticed the fine cracks appearing on his second skin, he said, "Oh crap."

The cracking of his second skin also indicated that the Shifting Armor wasn’t strong enough to easily block the attack. So he decided to find a way to enhance his defense.

The best way he had to enhance his defense was to use the Vengeful Bones Metac. But to use this, he needed someone else to attack him so that he could borrow their power.

It would be preferable if the person he finds to attack him is very strong. With this on his mind, he rushed out of his room to find someone to attack him.

On his way out, he thought to himself, saying, ’Fortunately, I am in the heavenly city. There are plenty of rank 5 cultivators around to help me.’

However, the situation changed a few seconds after he began to move. What was attacking him saw him moving and thought that he was trying to escape. It didn’t want him to escape, so it grabbed him.

So, just as Loki reached the door, something coiled around his waist and dragged him back into the room. He still couldn’t see what was attacking him, but he could feel physical pressure this time around and could even touch the invisible object.

Since he could touch the object, it means that he could attack it. So he quickly turned the second skin of his right hand into a drill and struck the invisible object grabbing him.

He used all of his power for this attack, which meant that he used the Forging Pathway, Strength Pathway, and even the Killing Pathway for the attack. With three pathways working together, his power reached a height it had never reached before.

His power output was 5(Dao Status) × (5(Telekinesis Metac) + 5(Vengeful Bones) + 5(Splitting Edge)) × (5(Body) + 5(Life Ability) + 5(Mind) + 5(Will) + 5(Soul) + 10(Power Core)) × (5(Body Lever) + 5(Living Armament) + 5(Energy Amplifier) + 5(Force Lever) + 5(Lightning Engine) + 5(Bull Strength) + 5(Rhino Strength) + 5(Crocodile Strength) + 5(Bear Strength) + 5(Elephant Strength) + 5(Bleed) + 5(Sting) + 5(Weakness) + 5(Multiple Strike) + 5(Compound Damage)) × (413% Overdrive + 900% Mental World), which is 2,584,968.75 units.

All of this power was concentrated on the drill, so the drill was coated with red lightning, and when the drill made contact with whatever was holding him, it pierced the object.

What followed was a great piercing cry of pain. Loki could hear it, and it sounded like the hissing of a snake. The pressure from the invisible grip also disappeared immediately.

Just as he was wondering what was going on, the thing that had been attacking him revealed itself. It appeared as a giant white snake with its tail coiling around him.

The first attack was also revealed to him. When the snake stopped being invisible, all of the venom that it had been pouring onto Loki’s body also stopped being invisible.

Loki finally saw that he was covered head to toe in a transparent liquid that was as clear as water but as thick as oil. Even now, the transparent liquid was still trying to break through his second skin. It was a persistent attack that was slowly breaking through his defense.

Apparently, the snake had been coiled in the corner of a room and had been spraying him with venom. But somehow, both he and the arrays in the house, hadn’t sensed the snake.

If the snake hadn’t tried to grab him, he wouldn’t have known that it was nearby. So it seemed that his choice to go looking for help was a good one.

As he thought of this, he sighed in relief and said to himself, ’That was close.’

The snake wasn’t dead, though. He had only managed to injure it severely.

There was a large gaping hole where he had struck the snake. The hole was an arm deep, but the injury wasn’t enough to sever the snake in two. So it was clear that this injury was nowhere near enough to actually kill the snake.

Part of the snake that had grabbed him was coiling and twisting in agony. The other part, which was the upper part, was trying to pull the snake away to escape.

Since he had already started, Loki decided to finish what he had started. He created four more arms and bent down to deal with the giant snake.
