Chapter 502: Extra - Luna Jennings x Benjamin Morgan (6)
Sun, sand, beautiful women...
Beta Morgan posted a nine-photo grid on his social feed.
It drew a string of likes from the Morgan men.
[Alpha: Are the two beautiful women in photos four and five single? If they are, keep us brothers in mind.]
[Yu: You’re bold, Alpha...]
[Dian: Alpha, I’m single.]
[Xin: Single +1]
[Abel Lockwood: Single +1]
[Beta replied to Abel Lockwood: Shoo, shoo, we still have our own older bachelors to worry about.]
[Beta: The beauty in photo four has a suitor, but the one in photo five is single.]
...
In just over ten minutes, Beta Morgan’s post had garnered dozens of comments from the Morgan and Lockwood families.
Benjamin Morgan held a cocktail, his expression sour as he looked at Beta Morgan’s social feed.
The first two photos were of the boss and Aurora, and the next few were of the people they were with.
He hadn’t expected Jean Quincy and Luna Jennings to have gone along too.
Benjamin Morgan pursed his lips, his eyes scanning over Luna Jennings’s photo and the comments from the brothers below. A strange feeling stirred within him.
Then, Beta Morgan posted three more times in a row, practically flooding their feeds.
Among them was a photo of Beta Morgan being buried in the sand by a group of beautiful women.
With a goofy grin, Beta Morgan lay on the beach, buried in sand by the women with only his head sticking out.
The Morgan men’s group chat was stirred up by these photos.
They spammed a flurry of stickers expressing envy, jealousy, and sour grapes.
[Xin: Mr. Beta is winning at life right now.]
[Alpha: Don’t worry. With the boss around, he’s just a foil.]
[Delta: @Alpha Aurora promised to help Mr. Beta find a girlfriend.]
[Alpha: Really? How do you know?]
[Delta: I took the photos.]
[Xin: Ah... you’re there too? Is Mr. C there? (Envious)]
[Delta: Mr. C isn’t here. The boss sent him to attend the madam’s party.]
[Xin: For real? Forgive my shameless laughter.]
[Ray Morgan: Finally, a brother to keep me company.]
[Dian: Pip has healed the heart that Beta broke.]
[Feng: Ditto.]
...
Benjamin Morgan looked up with a dark expression, just in time to see Ray Morgan smiling as he raised his glass in a toast to him.
’This heartless bunch...’

Three days into Beta Morgan’s vacation, Benjamin Morgan was eating instant noodles when he got a call from Beta.
"Pip, come pick someone up from the airport."
"Done having your fun?" Benjamin Morgan slowly closed the lid on his instant noodles and stood up to put on his jacket.
"We’re still on vacation. Something happened with Luna Jennings’s family, and she has to rush back. She just got on the plane—I’ll text you the flight number. You need to pick her up and take her home right away. She’s pretty upset. The boss said to help her however we can."
The smile on Benjamin Morgan’s face froze.
He moved a little faster than before.

「Meanwhile.」
Luna Jennings hurried out, anxiously pulling her luggage behind her. The call from her dad had been vague, and she knew right away that something was wrong at home.
"Luna Jennings..."
A familiar male voice called out from nearby.
She looked up and was surprised to see Benjamin Morgan, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time.
’He... what’s he doing here?’
’Could he be the one Mr. Beta said was coming to pick me up?’
"M-Mr. Morgan."
Benjamin Morgan strode over and took the suitcase from her hand.
"Where do you live?"
"Kings... Kingsford University."
"Hm?"
"The faculty housing."
Benjamin Morgan seemed a little surprised. He glanced at her but didn’t say anything more.
They walked to the parking garage, one after the other.
Luna Jennings reflexively opened the front passenger door, but froze when she saw Benjamin Morgan already inside.
Seeing her hesitate, Benjamin Morgan frowned slightly and said, "Get in."
Luna Jennings quickly got in.
"Seatbelt."
"Oh."
Luna Jennings nervously buckled her seatbelt.
Seeing the grave expression on her face, as if something serious had happened at home, Benjamin Morgan asked, "What’s wrong?"
Luna Jennings didn’t register the question at first. It wasn’t until Benjamin Morgan asked again that she replied in a daze, "My dad messaged me saying it was extremely urgent and that I had to come back. But when I called him, he was really vague."
Benjamin Morgan thought for a moment and had a pretty good idea of the situation. "It must be something related to you, something they can’t decide on their own."
"Huh?"
When their car stopped downstairs from Luna Jennings’s apartment, her father leaned his head directly out of the kitchen window. His eyes lit up when he saw Benjamin Morgan.
"Luna, you’re back."
With her carry-on bag on her back, Luna Jennings looked up. "Dad, what’s happened at home?"
"Come up, quickly."
Without a second thought, Luna Jennings ran into the building’s entrance.
Her family lived in an old building with no elevator.
Benjamin Morgan took the suitcase out of the trunk and glanced up. He saw a man with glasses smiling down at him and felt a flicker of nervousness.
"Young man, we’re on the fifth floor. Sorry to trouble you."
