Chapter 496: Extra: Leigh Miles x Dean Morgan (10)
Now that Leigh Miles and Dean Morgan were a couple, they were more lovey-dovey than ever.
"Dean, try this. Isn’t it delicious?"
"Mm."
The way they fed each other, oblivious to everyone around them, made the others green with envy.
Beta Morgan tsked. "Hey, show some consideration. You’ve got a lonely bachelor over here."
He had recently taken over for Benjamin Morgan to watch over Kingsford, which made him especially sensitive to the couple’s passionate romance.
’Why does everyone else have a partner?’
"Mr. Beta, why don’t you go help out at the association? While you’re at it, keep an eye out and don’t let the Winslow Clan infiltrate Veridia," Leigh said, turning back to him after a moment’s thought.
Beta Morgan was surprised. "You’re even taking precautions against your own family?"
"That’s not my family. My family is right here, okay?" Leigh said with a grin, glancing at Dean Morgan.
"Yeah, Mr. Beta, go help the Young Master at the association. I’ve got Leigh with me here."
Hearing this, Beta Morgan felt even more heartbroken, as if he were being cast aside.
After he left, Dean Morgan stroked Leigh’s head. "You don’t trust the Winslow Family?"
"Yeah, I know them too well. Especially the Flame Demigod’s branch—they’re incredibly ambitious. They won’t make a move right now because of my Senior Sister’s status and power, but they’ll never be satisfied. They’ll definitely start making trouble behind the scenes. I have to guard the Veridian Martial World for my Senior Sister."
Just the thought of the Winslow Clan filled Leigh’s eyes with disgust.
Dean Morgan pulled her into an embrace and nuzzled her hair. "I’ll keep watch with you."
"You’re the best, Dean."
Leigh found a comfortable spot in his arms, snuggling and nuzzling against him like a kitten.
Their romance continued to blossom, and they moved in together right after Dean was discharged from the hospital.
This development even reached Aurora Sinclair at the International Penitentiary.
She made a point to call Dean Morgan and ask about the situation.
After hanging up, Dean looked at Leigh and said, "She wants me to go to the International Penitentiary."
Leigh, who was already a little intimidated by Aurora Sinclair, felt her heart leap into her throat.
"I’ll go with you. Worst case, I’ll just go to the mountain gorge for punishment."
"I’ll take it for you."

When the nervous young couple arrived at the International Penitentiary, Dean Morgan was immediately whisked away by Alvin Morgan to teach martial arts to the inmates in the general population wing.
This left Leigh all alone to face the family head, Aurora Sinclair.
Leigh nearly rolled her eyes out of her head at Alvin Morgan.
"So you’re sure he’s the one?"
Aurora Sinclair finally looked up from the computer on her desk, giving her a single glance.
Standing by the desk like a guilty child, Leigh nodded.
"He’s one of Morgan’s subordinates..."
"I don’t care about that. And Morgan doesn’t see them as mere underlings, either."
Leigh’s head snapped up, her gaze meeting a pair of eyes that, while seemingly cold, held a deep concern for her.
Aurora Sinclair nodded. "Have you told Master and the others about this?"
Seeing that she had her approval, a beaming Leigh ran over to Aurora, wrapping her arms around her neck and nuzzling her. "Senior Sister, could you please tell Master for me? Master doesn’t have the best impression of the Morgans..."
Aurora flicked her on the forehead. "Don’t you go bad-mouthing Master."
"Fine..."
Leigh pouted, rubbing her forehead.
When Aurora contacted Master Aerion, he wasn’t angry at all. To everyone’s surprise, he calmly told Leigh to bring Dean Morgan back to Sunstone to meet the family.
Their trip back to Sunstone was relatively smooth. Other than challenging Dean Morgan to a drinking contest, Master Aerion didn’t treat him with the same opposition he had once shown Alvin Morgan.
Ronan Warner, however, gave Dean a hard time, even forcing him to drink Sunstone’s most disgusting medicinal tonic.
The brew was so foul that whenever it was made, the entire village would flee down the mountain to escape the smell.
Ronan Warner brewed a whole pot for him and ordered him to drink every last drop.
Fighting waves of nausea, Dean Morgan actually managed to drink the entire pot, bit by bit.
After he finished, Ronan Warner sent him to the Kaelan Mountains. Not two days later, he had broken through to become an Intermediate Martial King.
In gratitude, Leigh even spent several days weeding Ronan Warner’s medicinal herb garden.

Leigh Miles and Dean Morgan’s wedding was held after Aurora Sinclair and Alvin Morgan’s.
They held two ceremonies: one on the Continent of Esteros and another at Sunstone.
Master Aerion finally got to celebrate his disciple’s wedding. He was so overjoyed that he got drunk for the first time, then ran off to the Kaelan Mountains with Ronan Warner and Quentin Stone for a friendly brawl.
It made Leigh and Flora Guthrie so worried they were up all night.
The sight of three men with a combined age of nearly two hundred years acting this way made everyone’s jaws drop.
Titus Miles said sheepishly to Dean, "Brother-in-law, they just haven’t had anything to drink in a long time, so they’re letting loose a little."
Titus had grown into a young man now, almost as tall as Dean, though his strength had already surpassed his.
He had recently celebrated his 18th birthday and was planning to leave the mountain with them to gain some real-world experience.
He liked Dean just as much as he always had and was the first one to call him "Brother-in-law," having supported his pursuit of Leigh from the start.
"Brother-in-law, they’ll probably keep this up until morning. We should head back first."
Dean patted his shoulder with a smile. "Your sister’s still here."
"It’s fine. My sister’s tough, she can handle the cold..."
"You little brat! How dare you make fun of me? You want a thrashing?"
Leigh’s hearing was sharp; she had already packed a snowball and hurled it at him.
Titus laughed, made a face, and deftly dodged it.
The two siblings started a snowball fight in the snow, acting just like children.
Though the Kaelan Mountains were cold, they were also filled with joy and warmth.
"Dean, help me!"
"Coming!"
"Hey! No ganging up on me! Brother-in-law, you traitor..."
