My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot

Chapter 487: Extra: Leigh Miles x Dean Morgan (1)

"RRRIIING—"

The dismissal bell rang at Kingsford No. 1 High School.

Leigh Miles slung her backpack on and hurried out.

Lately, the DAF player merchandise had been selling like crazy, and she was raking in cash.

Luna Jennings couldn’t handle it all by herself, so she called Leigh and Ditto Miles over to help.

But they were still short-handed, so she also roped in Mr. Dixon, who always drove her, to serve as extra labor.

"Mr. Dixon, we still have over 200 packages to pack today."

Leigh Miles beamed, pulling two pieces of candy from her pocket. She handed one to Dean Morgan and kept the other for herself.

Dean Morgan took the candy, unwrapped it, and popped it into his mouth.

He wasn’t particularly fond of sweets, but Leigh always gave him some, and it felt wrong to refuse.

"Mr. Dixon, we have a parent-teacher conference tomorrow morning. My senior sister always used to go for me, but this time I’ll have to trouble you."

"Mm."

"Mr. Dixon, also, can I have a chicken cutlet rice bowl for dinner today?"

"Okay."

After that, Dean Morgan first took her to eat a chicken cutlet rice bowl, then dropped her off with Luna Jennings.

By the time the two of them finished helping Luna Jennings pack all the parcels, it was already past 10:00 p.m.

"Mr. Dixon, I’m just gonna close my eyes for a bit..."

Dean Morgan turned up the heat and grabbed a blanket from the back to cover her.

A moment later, the sound of her even breathing filled the car.

A faint smile appeared on Dean Morgan’s usually stoic face.

’What a little money-grubber...’

「The next day.」

Dean Morgan clutched the parent-teacher conference notice, walking into the classroom a little nervously.

He had never attended a parent-teacher conference for anyone before.

"Excuse me, which student’s parent are you?"

Dean Morgan instantly straightened up, his face impassive as he said, "Leigh Miles."

"Are you her older brother?" The homeroom teacher’s eyes filled with suspicion as she looked him up and down several times.

’Aurora Sinclair always came to her conferences before. Why is it a man now?’

Dean Morgan’s body was ramrod straight, and his breathing grew shallow.

"Where’s her sister?"

"She went abroad."

"What do you do for work? How come I’ve never seen you before?"

Dean Morgan froze for a second, then thought for a moment before pulling a business card from his pocket and handing it to her.

The homeroom teacher took one look and was stunned.

A single line of text was written on it: [Level 1 Member of the Veridian Martial Alliance]

This alliance was notoriously difficult to get into. Moreover, those who did get in were essentially the elite of the martial arts world, often engaged in special occupations.

’No wonder I’ve never seen him before. He must have been too busy with work to come.’

The homeroom teacher’s imagination ran wild. With a look of intrigue, she mysteriously invited him to take a seat.

On Leigh Miles’s desk was a report card.

Her rank in every subject was first place.

Dean Morgan was very surprised. He had never once seen Leigh study at home and had assumed her grades were average at best. He never expected her to have perfect scores in every subject, ranking first in all of them.

The entire parent-teacher conference practically turned into an awards ceremony for Leigh Miles.

For the first time ever, Dean Morgan’s stoic face wore a smile for the entire duration.

"Leigh’s brother, would you mind sharing some of her study habits with everyone?"

Suddenly, one of the subject teachers called on Dean Morgan.

Dean Morgan was instantly dumbfounded. He had no idea how Leigh studied. Steeling himself, he stood up.

Recalling how his own young master used to study as a child, he said hesitantly, "Leigh is very smart. She basically gets it after reading it over twice."

"Does she have any special study tricks?" the teacher continued to ask.

Dean Morgan thought for a moment and replied with two words: "Exceptionally gifted."

Everyone: "..."

After the parent-teacher conference, Dean Morgan decided he needed to pay more attention to Leigh’s academic life.

But when Leigh got home, she just watched TV, showing no intention of doing her homework.

So, Dean Morgan asked casually, "Leigh, do you have any homework today?"

Leigh nodded, sipping her milk tea.

"When are you going to do it?"

"Already finished."

Dean Morgan was shocked. ’It’s Friday. Don’t they usually assign two days’ worth of homework?’

"Did you check it?"

Leigh nodded again.

"Can I see it?"

Leigh finally tore her eyes away from the TV and looked at him.

Pouting, she mumbled defensively, "Mr. Dixon, did the teacher tell you I was sleeping in class? It’s just because I went to bed too late these past few days, so I got sleepy during the day. But it didn’t affect my grades..."

Dean Morgan froze, his eyes widening in surprise.

Seeing his reaction, Leigh thought he’d gotten an earful from her teacher. She ran over, tugged on his sleeve, and said guiltily, "Mr. Dixon, I only slept through one foreign language class, one math class, and two language arts classes. Please, please don’t tell my senior sister! She’ll punish me again..."

Seeing her pitiful act, Dean Morgan asked, amused, "How does she punish you?"

"My senior sister will definitely forbid me from earning money again, and then she’ll make me copy the textbook. And I’ll have to do it in all the different calligraphy styles our mistress taught me..."

Dean Morgan asked, "How many styles did your mistress teach you?"

"Fourteen..."

Once Leigh started talking about her life on Sunstone, the floodgates opened. She rattled off all the times she’d been punished by Aurora Sinclair growing up.

Most of it, however, was about being forced to practice her punches by Aurora after she and Titus Miles got into mischief and wouldn’t listen.

Listening to her childhood stories, Dean Morgan suddenly felt a strange pang of envy for Aurora Sinclair.

"My senior sister may be harsh with her punishments, but she still dotes on me. She always makes me milk pudding afterward. You know, I’m actually craving some right now... When is my senior sister coming back?"

Leigh’s mood drooped a little.

Dean Morgan instantly grew tense. He stood up abruptly and said, "I’ll make it for you..."
