Chapter 600 - 420: White Mist? Poisonous Mist?
The Eagle Beastman hesitated, unsure whether to nod or shake his head. "We didn’t see it either, but the site of that intense energy surge is definitely where the Huaxia Witch went."
The members of the Super Tribe fell silent. Even though the Eagle Beastman couldn’t be certain, they inexplicably felt that this energy fluctuation was connected to the Huaxia Witch.
The Healing Witch’s indifferent eyes narrowed slightly, and the hands at their sides suddenly clenched into fists. "Go back and keep watch. If there’s any unusual activity, return and report immediately."
The Eagle Beastman nodded solemnly, spread his wings, and flew back into the sky.
’Even if the Lord Witch hadn’t told me to, I would’ve gone back anyway. I can’t just abandon my men who were knocked unconscious.’
The blast of energy spread out in ripples. Any Intermediate-level or weaker Fierce Beast caught in the wave was instantly knocked unconscious.
At the center of the explosion, a large swath of the deep forest had been cleared out. A place that had always been gloomy and dark was, for a rare change, bathed in sunlight.
It was a long time after the tremendous explosion, not until the energy fluctuations had completely dissipated, that the seemingly dead-silent deep forest began to stir with sound again.
A few Fierce Beasts began to cautiously approach. Even the Eagle Beastman from the Super Tribe slowly flapped his wings, flying toward the cleared-out open space.
Gazing at the deep forest, which looked as if a chunk had been carved out by some colossally large being, the Eagle Beastman swallowed hard and cautiously kept to a higher altitude.
But perhaps because the explosive energy was too powerful, the white smoke and dust had still not dispersed after the energy fluctuations passed. It was like a tangible mass of soft fur, slowly writhing and spreading through the deep forest.
The Eagle Beastman frowned, looking at the vast cloud of smoke below. After hesitating for a moment, he slowly descended.
Once he drew closer, he beat his wings vigorously, attempting to blow the smoke away and get a clear look at the scene below.
But the smoke merely swayed a little from the beating of his wings. Then, as if it had found its prey, it began to spread rapidly toward him.
The Eagle Beastman’s pupils contracted. ’There’s something wrong with this smoke!’
He shot upward immediately, but despite his incredible speed, the white smoke still managed to brush against his feet.
The Beast Skin wrappings on his feet instantly corroded as if by acid, letting out a cringe-inducing HISS.
A sharp pain stabbed at his exposed toes, but before the smoke could make any more contact, the Eagle Beastman was already clear of its range.
Fighting through the pain and dizziness, he flapped his wings with all his might and flew toward the cave.
’The Healing Witch is there. As long as I can make it back, I’ll be saved.’
The Beastman Warriors of the Super Tribe never expected the Eagle Beastman, who had only just left, to return so soon. His descent was unstable, and he came crashing down.
The heavy thud of his body hitting the ground alerted those inside the cave.
The Healing Witch and several of the group’s leaders rushed out.
The Eagle Beastman shook his groggy head, struggling to lift it and look toward the cave. "Witch... Lord Witch... help..."
Just those few simple words seemed to have used up all his strength. His vision went black, and he passed out.
The Healing Witch, emerging from the cave, immediately noticed something was wrong with the Eagle Beastman. The Poison Witch at their side followed, their expression grave.
There was no need for anyone to search for the wound.
The poison from his slightly corroded toes had already spread up his entire lower leg, turning it a sickening blackish-purple that couldn’t have been more obvious.
The Healing Witch frowned and looked at the Poison Witch, who was examining him. "How is it?"
The Poison Witch gathered witch power in their hands, enveloping the Eagle Beastman’s lower leg. "The poison is very strong. I’ll draw it out first, then you can heal him."
The Healing Witch nodded, then raised their head to look in the direction of the energy fluctuation.
’What in the world is going on over there?’
Since the corrosion from the poison wasn’t too severe, it took some time, but the Poison Witch managed to draw it all out.
The Healing Witch then enveloped the Eagle Beastman in their witch power, which pulsed with potent Life Energy, and began to repair his injuries.
With the poison gone from his body, the Eagle Beastman finally regained consciousness.
Seeing his fellow tribesmen around him, he sat up abruptly, his expression one of alarm. "Lord Witch, the... the site of the energy fluctuation... it’s now filled with a white smoke, so I couldn’t see what was underneath."
