Chapter 728 - 716: I Want You to Marry Me (4)
’Classic Ms. Ross! Every single detail is so precise.’
...
A sarcastic smile touched Archie Lockwood’s lips as he said coldly, "Get me a meeting with Ms. Ross as soon as possible."
"Yes, sir."
Only after Howard Rhodes had left did Archie Lockwood look down at the file in his hands. As he read about Eleanor Bishop’s life over the past several years, the smile completely faded from his face, and a dark look flashed in his eyes.
’It seems she hasn’t been doing very well...’
「The next day, early in the morning.」
Archie Lockwood received a call from Howard Rhodes. Howard reported that Ms. Ross had planned to take a flight back to Tridell the previous night, but his men had intercepted her on the way to the airport. He explained that he should have reported it then but decided against it because of the late hour.
As he listened to Howard Rhodes, Archie Lockwood’s eyes narrowed slightly. He had read Eleanor Bishop’s file, so he knew that Ms. Ross’s primary responsibility was caring for Eleanor’s father at home. She rarely went out, let alone returned to Tridell.
Mulling this over, Archie Lockwood said in a deep voice, "Make the arrangements. I’m going to see her now."
He hung up before the person on the other end could reply.
He changed his clothes, opened the bedroom door, and walked out.
Shirley Lockwood was already awake, kneeling by the coffee table and eating her breakfast. Seeing him emerge, she looked up with a smile and asked, "Dad, you’re awake?"
"Yeah."
"Sorry, Dad. I was starving, so I didn’t wait for you or order you anything," Shirley Lockwood said with an apologetic smile, taking a bite of her sandwich.
"It’s fine. If you’re hungry, you can just call and order for yourself. I have to run, so I’m skipping breakfast." As he spoke, Archie Lockwood adjusted his collar, then his cuffs. Once he deemed himself presentable, he strode out the door.
Seeing her dad was about to leave, Shirley Lockwood grabbed her cup, took a few big gulps of milk, and hurriedly called out, "Dad, where are you going? Wait for me..."
"I’m going out to handle something. You will stay here in the room and be good. You’re not to go anywhere, understand?"
"What? You can’t take me with you?" ’She wanted to go exploring, not waste the entire day in the hotel.’
"I’m going out for work, and it would be inconvenient to bring you. If you get bored, watch TV. If you’re hungry, order room service. And if you get tired, take a nap."
Shirley Lockwood pouted with dissatisfaction. "So, no matter what, I’m not allowed to leave the hotel. Hmph! Dad, you’re so unfair! It’s one thing not to take me with you, but you won’t even let me leave the hotel."
"Be a good girl and listen. If you don’t, I’ll have someone send you back early."
As soon as she heard that, Shirley Lockwood dared not complain any further. She waved her hand dismissively. "Fine, fine, go on then. Just don’t forget to bring me back a present, or you can forget about me being good."
"Yes, I will. I promise." At her words, Archie Lockwood gave a resigned smile and a nod.

「Half an hour later, at the Crestwood Hotel.」
When Howard Rhodes saw his boss enter the hotel, he quickly stepped forward to greet him, briefly recounting the morning’s events.
It wasn’t until Archie Lockwood pushed the door open and stepped into the room that he realized Howard Rhodes hadn’t been exaggerating in the slightest.
Ms. Ross had ordered nearly every dish on the hotel’s menu. A massive table was laden with so much food that not only could one person never finish it, ten more people just like her probably couldn’t either.
And to top it all off, it was still early in the morning.
’He hadn’t even exchanged a single word with this Ms. Ross, yet he could already feel a massive headache coming on. If he didn’t have business to attend to, he would have turned around and walked out right then and there, not staying a second longer.’
