Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me

Chapter 729 - 717: I want you to marry me (5)

He had been in the room for several minutes, but Ms. Ross hadn’t so much as glanced up at him.

Archie Lockwood had no patience left. He cleared his throat and called out coldly, "Ms. Ross."

At the sound of his voice, Yara Ross stopped eating. She dabbed at her mouth with a napkin and looked up in his direction. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise when she saw him. "It’s you?"

"Hah. So, Ms. Ross *does* remember me?" Archie Lockwood scoffed.

"Of course I remember. You’re... you’re that... the Lockwood family’s real son, the one who came back..."

"Heh, so you haven’t mistaken me for someone else this time."

She was confused. ’My memory isn’t usually that great, but I have a knack for remembering the wealthy and influential.’

So, when Archie Lockwood said that, Yara Ross immediately recalled the time she had mistaken him for Mr. Kent.

If Archie Lockwood didn’t appear on TV so often, she might never have realized what a huge mistake she had made back then.

Unfortunately, there’s no medicine for regret.

Seeing that Ms. Ross remained silent, Archie Lockwood’s lip curled in contempt. He said in a low voice, "I came to see you today, Ms. Ross, to negotiate."

"Negotiate?" Yara Ross stared at Archie Lockwood, astonished.

"That’s right. I want you, your husband, and your daughter to leave the country and never come back."

"What?"

Archie Lockwood took the file from Howard Rhodes and looked at Yara Ross. "Don’t worry, Ms. Ross. I’ve already arranged for the best hospital and specialist for you abroad. Once you’re there, you won’t have to worry about Mr. Bishop’s illness anymore."

"Wait, Mr. Lockwood, I don’t understand why you want to drive my family out of the country. Even if I mistook you for Mr. Kent all those years ago, surely you can’t be so petty as to kick all of us out because of it!?" As she spoke, her face was a mixture of confusion and anger.

Archie Lockwood fixed his cold gaze on Yara Ross, remaining silent.

He didn’t speak because he couldn’t tell if Ms. Ross was genuinely clueless or just pretending to be.

Suddenly, a thought seemed to strike Yara Ross. Her face filled with astonishment as she said, "Unless... you and my Eleanor actually..." ’If I remember correctly, Eleanor went to a hotel that night and didn’t come home.’

Seeing Yara Ross’s shocked and hesitant expression, Archie Lockwood’s face darkened. "You don’t need to know why I want your family out of the country, Ms. Ross. You only need to understand one thing: I never want to lay eyes on any of you ever again."

Yara Ross felt a surge of anger, but she didn’t dare say a word. After all, she couldn’t afford to offend a man like him.

"I won’t be unfair to you. I’ll give you a large sum of money, enough to live out the rest of your days in wealth."

"Really? How much?" The mention of money made Yara Ross ask eagerly.

Archie Lockwood sneered. Instead of answering, he retorted, "In your opinion, Ms. Ross, what would be an appropriate amount?"

"A man of your stature, Mr. Lockwood, surely wouldn’t offer a small sum. Besides, you just said it yourself—enough to live out the rest of our days in wealth. So the amount can’t be any less than this!" As she spoke, Yara Ross held up two fingers.
