Chapter 239: Sanction
Upon hearing Una Sullivan, the sneer on Rowan Ross’s face deepened. ’Just a bunch of country bumpkins who’ve never seen the world,’ she thought.
Mika Summers patted Una Sullivan’s hand, reassuring her. She glanced at Rowan Ross, then looked down at the shoes, stroking her chin. "Five million? Or fifty million?"
Rowan Ross despised Mika Summers’s attitude. She let go of her coat, drew back her foot, and answered coldly, "Five million!" ’Even if I let them off the hook for the coat,’ she thought, ’there’s no way they can afford five million.’
"Oh, so it’s only five million. I thought a new, limited-edition piece would be at least fifty million. It seems you’re not as rich as you think. It’s almost insulting to have to pay for such a low-end product."
Rowan Ross let out a contemptuous sneer. "What an arrogant woman. I was going to let you off with just paying for the shoes, for Eleanor Bishop’s sake. But from the way you’re acting, you don’t seem to be short on cash. Fine, then. Pay up. The coat and shoes together come to 18.7 million! I’ll even give you a discount—just give me eighteen million. You can consider the rest a tip from me."
"Miss Ross," Boss Hall chimed in, stepping forward to mediate, "could you perhaps drop this, for my sake? Look at them. They clearly don’t have the means to pay you back. It’s not worth getting worked up over people like this."
This only made Rowan Ross even more arrogant. "Fine. For Boss Hall’s sake, I can let the money go. But I want them to get on their knees and apologize to me. Otherwise, they’ll pay every last cent!" ’If they were just some random commoners,’ she thought, ’I might not have pushed it this far. But they’re here with Eleanor Bishop, so I can’t let them off so easily. They can only blame their own bad fortune for knowing the wrong person.’
"You’re going too far, young lady!" Una Sullivan’s body was trembling with rage. "My husband just bumped into you by accident! At worst, we’ll have your clothes cleaned and returned to you, that’s all!"
"And you think you’re in the right? You really are a bunch of classless, worthless scum!"
At those words, Mika Summers stepped forward and slapped her hard across the face. "Who the hell do you think you’re talking to?!" she raged. "Say that one more time!"
"Aah!! You hit me! Do you have any idea who I am? How dare you hit me!" Rowan Ross shrieked at Mika Summers, her eyes turning red.
Boss Hall stood frozen to the side, completely stunned. ’As long as no one got physical, this was manageable,’ he thought. ’But now this reckless woman has actually slapped Miss Ross... Doesn’t she have a death wish?’
He quickly ordered the staff, who had been watching the drama unfold, to go get the general manager. Otherwise, with Miss Ross’s temper, there was no way she would let this go.
"So what if I hit you?" Mika Summers said, rubbing her slightly stinging hand as she smiled at Rowan Ross. "Where’d you get your plastic surgery done? How much is that face worth? Go on, name your price."
"What are you talking about?! What nonsense are you spouting, you hick?! Who got plastic surgery?! Who?! My face is all-natural, you understand me?!" Rowan Ross was about to explode, but as a public figure, she couldn’t lunge at Mika like a common shrew.
"I don’t," Mika said, pointing innocently at Rowan Ross’s chin. "All I see is that your jaw looks a little crooked."
Rowan Ross immediately clutched her face and let out a horrified shriek. "Aah!"
Seeing this, Rowan Ross’s assistant hurried over. She shielded Rowan behind her and said, "You assaulted Miss Ross and slandered her. Just wait, you’ll be hearing from our lawyers."
"Mm... I’ll be waiting..." Mika Summers replied with a nod and a smile, completely unafraid.
But just as the words left her mouth, she saw two men walking toward the VIP room entrance. Her expression immediately fell. She whirled around to Una Sullivan and the others. "Mom, Dad, grab Kiki and get out of here, now!"
