Chapter 240: Bad Luck
Seeing Mika’s sudden fearful expression, Una Sullivan shook her head and said firmly, "We’re not leaving. Whatever it is, we’ll solve it together." ’She refused to believe it. Could someone really be wrongly accused with the law on their side?’
Mika Summers knew her mother didn’t understand the true meaning behind her words. She turned to Joseph Summers and said urgently, "Dad, please just listen to me. Go wait outside. I’ll be out in a minute."
Joseph Summers nodded. "Mika wants us to go, so let’s go." ’Once we’re out, I’ll just call our son for help. Staying here wouldn’t help; we’d just be dragging her down...’
Una Sullivan had no choice but to obey and left with Joseph Summers.
Seeing her parents leave with Kiki, Mika Summers’s expression softened, and her worried heart eased slightly. But when she saw her parents walk past Tristan Grayson, and his eyes fell on Kiki, fear and tension seized her at once. In her panic, she spotted Rowan Ross hiding behind her assistant, shielding her face and whispering something. ’She’s probably telling her assistant to call for backup.’
A flash of apology crossed her eyes, but she still mustered her courage, strode forward, and shoved the assistant aside. She grabbed Rowan Ross’s hair and, raising her hand, slapped her again.
The sound of this slap was much louder than the first. At the same time, Rowan Ross’s face was truly knocked to the side...
After the first slap, you couldn’t really tell her chin was slightly crooked unless you looked closely. But this time, Mika Summers had hit her with all her might. To draw Tristan Grayson’s attention away from Kiki, she had no choice but to use all her strength.
"AHHH!" Rowan Ross clutched her face and shrieked in fury, "You psycho! You dare hit me! You hit me again! I’ll kill you!" With that, Rowan Ross lunged at Mika Summers, and they started fighting.
Seeing this, the assistant nearby forgot her place and joined Rowan Ross in attacking Mika Summers.
The two women surrounded Mika Summers. One of them yanked off her hat, while the other grabbed a fistful of her short hair, screaming profanities the entire time.
Tristan Grayson hadn’t planned on intervening, as he’d seen that the woman wasn’t losing the fight. But now, seeing two women ganging up on her and landing several blows, his expression turned utterly savage. His thin lips parted as he spoke in an icy voice, "All of you, stop right now!"
At his words, the three women shuddered and obediently stopped. But they remained in their fighting stances, turning to look at Tristan Grayson.
When Rowan Ross saw that it was Tristan Grayson who had spoken, she immediately let go of Mika Summers’s hair. Looking surprised yet deeply wronged, she ran toward Tristan Grayson. "Tristan, you’re here!" As she spoke, she had already reached Tristan’s side and grabbed his arm.
Hearing Rowan Ross’s cloyingly sweet way of addressing Tristan Grayson, Ian Shaw’s brow darkened. He walked straight past Tristan Grayson to Mika Summers’s side. He bent down, picked up the hat from the floor, and handed it to Mika Summers. "Are you okay?"
"I’m fine." Mika Summers snapped out of her daze, took the hat with a cold expression, and put it on. She turned, walked to a nearby chair, grabbed her bag and luggage from it, and prepared to leave.
’I really have the worst luck. I slap some random person, and she just has to be Tristan Grayson’s... mis... tress...’
When Rowan Ross saw that Tristan Grayson didn’t reject her or push her away, she was already gloating inwardly. Now, seeing Mika Summers about to leave, how could she possibly let her go? "Stop! You think you can just assault someone and walk away like that?"
