Chapter 1019 530: Cynthia's Rambling, Arezu's Despair
Cynthia's expression grew serious after hearing what had happened.
"Warden Arezu, you really shouldn't shoulder this matter alone. Your intention to help the Queen is understandable, but entering the wild Pokemon's territory by yourself with no guarantee of your own safety is far too reckless."
Arezu was about to explain, but Cynthia continued without pause.
"Have you considered what might have happened if we hadn't arrived in time?"
"Moreover, you are the warden of the battlefield and the one most familiar with the Queen's condition. If something happened to you while seeking medicine, who would the others rely on to understand the Queen's habits and abilities?"
"Before you try to help others, you must at least ensure your own safety. Sometimes, good intentions can lead to bad outcomes."
Cynthia walked alongside Ursaluna, lecturing Arezu on how dangerous it was for her to act alone this time.
At first, Arezu nodded earnestly and occasionally said she understood.
But after more than ten minutes, her expression gradually turned numb.
After a while longer, Arezu slumped against Ursaluna's back, staring blankly ahead.
'If the heavens find me guilty, please just let Croagunk poison and knock me out!'
'Instead of letting this woman nag at me endlessly!!'
Arezu couldn't take it anymore.
She discovered for the first time that there was someone in the world even more nagging than her own mother.
The worst part was, everything Cynthia said made perfect sense, leaving Arezu unsure of how to even begin to refute her.
In fact, Cynthia didn't usually have such a talkative personality.
Her public image was always gentle and intellectual, and during battles, she transformed into a calm and unreachable Champion.
But since coming to this world, the emotions she had suppressed as a Champion became much more lively than before.
When she wasn't upholding the dignity of a Champion, she occasionally reacted in ways she seldom did before.
Only during formal battles and complex negotiations did the calm and powerful Sinnoh Champion return with an aura that couldn't be ignored.
The reason for her sudden urge to lecture today, besides Arezu's dangerous actions, also had to do with Arezu's appearance.
That face was just too similar to that of Mars, a modern-day Team Galactic officer.
Seeing that familiar face, Cynthia had a strong feeling that she couldn't stop lecturing until the person understood her fully.
And so, Cynthia lectured Arezu the entire way.
Arezu wanted several times to suggest moving to Wyrdeer's back and traveling with Ash.
But considering Cynthia had just saved her and was advising her for her own good, Arezu felt it would be somewhat impolite to run away.
She could only continue to ride on Ursaluna's back, silently enduring Cynthia's verbal education.
When they finally returned to the Wetland Base and Arezu saw the medical personnel stationed there, her eyes almost lit up.
"My foot seems to be hurting again, can someone please take me over for a check-up!"
Before Cynthia could say another word, Arezu quickly waved at the medical staff.
Upon hearing that Arezu was injured, they immediately brought a wooden chair used for transporting the wounded.
But before they reached her, Arezu had already scrambled off Ursaluna and dashed swiftly into the medical tent.
Only when the tent flap fell shut did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.
She was finally temporarily free from Cynthia's clutches.
No sooner had Arezu entered the medical tent than she heard a familiar sound of footsteps outside.
"Arezu."
Upon hearing Adaman's voice, Arezu's just-relaxed body instantly tensed up.
The next moment, the tent flap was lifted from outside, and the stern-faced Adaman came in first, followed by Xipu leaning on a cane.
Looking at the two who appeared before her, Arezu's expression gradually turned to despair.
After barely escaping from Cynthia, Adaman and Xipu had returned to the Wetland Base at this time.
This wasn't escaping danger; it was jumping from the frying pan into the fire!
"The Queen caused such a disturbance at the battlefield, with nearly all the stationed members injured, yet you, as the warden, didn't even bother to inform me. Instead, you ran into the Crimson Mirelands alone to look for medicinal supplies. If Ash and Cynthia hadn't arrived in time, do you have any idea what might have happened to you?"
Adaman had evidently bottled up his anger outside, and now seeing Arezu return safely, he finally let out all his suppressed rage and worry.
"I just wanted the Queen to recover sooner..."
"If you want the Queen to recover sooner, you should inform everyone, rather than taking all the responsibility upon yourself. What if something had happened to you outside? What would the other members of the battlefield do, and what would the Queen do?"
Arezu opened her mouth but eventually lowered her head obediently.
She had already heard these words once from Cynthia earlier.
Now Adaman was saying it with slightly different details, but the core meaning was almost identical.
Arezu suddenly felt that she might as well have stayed on Ursaluna's back listening to Cynthia's lecture.
At least Cynthia's voice was gentler, and she was much more pleasant to look at than Adaman.
