Chapter 1020 530: Cynthia's Ramblings, Arezu's Despair (Part 2)
"Adaman is right."
Warden Calaba came before Arezu, leaning on her cane, her aged face showing clear remorse: "Previously, due to my own bias, I didn't calmly listen to your assessment of Ursaluna's abnormal behavior, and I've already made one mistake."
"Now you intend to keep everything to yourself, thinking you can solve the issues on your own. Arezu, you may be the Queen's Warden, but you are also just a regular person who needs help from others."
This time, Arezu had no intention of explaining herself.
One Cynthia was already overwhelming to her, and now Adaman and Calaba have joined in too.
Though Ash had already healed her ankle, she felt even more exhausted than when she was being chased by Croagunk earlier.
Outside the tent, Cynthia listened to the voices coming from inside, wearing a satisfied smile on her face.
"It seems Captain Adaman has taken charge."
Ash stood by, sympathetically glancing at the medical tent: "Miss Arezu seems to be having a rough day."
"If only she could keep these words in mind, she wouldn't risk doing such dangerous things alone next time."
Cynthia didn't feel her criticisms were out of line; instead, she began to ponder if there were other points she should address.
After more than ten minutes, the sounds from inside the tent finally ceased.
Adaman was the first to step out, with much of the anger on his face diminished.
"Sorry for the spectacle we caused."
"No worries, Warden Arezu does need someone to gently remind her."
Upon hearing Cynthia's response, Adaman guessed that before Arezu returned, she had already gone through a similar lecture.
"By the way, why did Grandma Calaba come back with you?"
Ash looked toward Calaba, who came out of the tent shortly after.
Adaman earlier mentioned he would search for Arezu from the air on Pidgeot, while Calaba was supposed to stay at Solaceon Ruins.
"After entering Crimson Mirelands, I first went to Solaceon Ruins to ask Warden Calaba if she had seen Arezu, but Arezu had already left the ruins a long time ago."
Adaman spoke of the afternoon's experience, his expression showing a hint of helplessness: "Upon learning of Arezu's disappearance, Warden Calaba decided to join in the search."
"However, we searched all around the nearby areas to no avail, and as dusk began to fall, we had to return to the Wetland Base to rest. Just as we returned, we saw you bringing Arezu back."
Calaba holding her cane, her aged face showing a complex expression.
She had already made a mistake with the Ursaluna incident.
At that time, Arezu clearly discovered the anomaly in Ursaluna was related to the missing plate at the ruins, but Calaba, due to Arezu being part of the Diamond Clan, refused to listen seriously.
Now, with Arezu entering Crimson Mirelands alone due to the Queen's matters, Calaba naturally couldn't wait at Solaceon Ruins for news.
After hearing both experiences, Ash finally understood why the two sides hadn't managed to cross paths.
While Adaman and Calaba searched for Arezu in Crimson Mirelands, Arezu was also constantly moving around, making it easy to miss each other.
Luckily, Ursaluna could track the scent leftover from the potato mochi.
Otherwise, if it was just Ash and Cynthia searching, they might not have found Arezu until the next day.
After some simple conversation, Arezu finally emerged from the medical tent.
Her ankle had long been healed completely by the Power of Viridian, and after several checks, the medical personnel found no injuries needing treatment.
Arezu initially wanted to stay inside a bit longer, but with Adaman and Calaba waiting outside, she couldn't find a reason to keep hiding.
"Since everyone's here, let's discuss the plan to govern the Queen first."
Adaman gathered everyone near the campfire at the center of the Wetland Base, requesting the Diamond Clan members bring a simple map of the stage battlefield.
Calaba and Arezu sat on opposite sides of the campfire, while Ash and Cynthia sat across from them.
While this discussion was supposedly a joint effort to draft the governance plan, it was more about sharing information on Lilligant with Ash and Cynthia.
After all, they were tasked with the real battle tomorrow.
Adaman reached out to point at the stage battlefield on the map, his expression gradually growing serious.
"In the Diamond Clan, Lilligant is referred to as the Mountain Path Queen. She possesses Grass and Fighting-type attributes, has a gentle temperament, and loves to dance. Her battle style is vastly different from regular Pokemon."
"Even when in a frenzy state, she still dances while dodging attacks, looking for opportunities to counterattack during the dance. What makes it more troubling is that her power and speed will continuously increase as she dances; the longer the battle extends, the stronger the power she will unleash."
Cynthia listened, her golden eyes showing visible contemplation.
The frenzy state causes Pokemon to lose normal judgment.
Previously, Kleavor, though retaining its battle instinct, mostly relied on brute force with its two giant axes for direct attacks.
Lilligant, however, is entirely different.
Not only does she dodge and search for counter opportunities, but she also continues to strengthen herself during combat.
This state indeed cannot be simply described as losing reason.
Her emotions and consciousness are affected by the Golden Power, yet her long-formed combat habits are deeply ingrained in her body.
"Previously, when the Queen suddenly attacked stationed members, everyone was reluctant to truly retaliate, focusing solely on defense and evasion, hoping she would calm down on her own."
"But the longer the battle went on, the more exaggerated her speed and power became. At first, a few attacks were merely manageable, but later on, they were entirely irresistible. This is why the stage battlefield had so many injured members this time."
Adaman, at this point, showed evident self-reproach.
It's understandable that Diamond Clan members respect the Queen and are hesitant to harm her.
But as the Queen continuously amplifies herself, only defending becomes increasingly perilous.
Fortunately, although stationed members at the stage battlefield were significantly injured, none lost their lives amidst this rampage.
Otherwise, even if Lilligant could return to normal in the future, the Diamond Clan wouldn't know how to face her.
"So, it means this battle must be concluded quickly; we can't let Lilligant keep dancing indefinitely. It's best to disrupt her rhythm before she completes multiple amplifications."
Ash quickly grasped the crucial point in Adaman's words.
"Exactly. However, the Queen also has an extremely powerful attack wherein she leaps high into the air and uses the downward momentum to perform a kick."
"Even without direct hits, the impact and vibrations upon landing affect nearby individuals. Many members on the stage battlefield were injured by this dispersed power."
Arezu added: "Although the Queen's legs seem slender, her strongest asset is precisely her leg strength, and those aerial kicks typically appear after she has danced continuously for some time."
Cynthia examined the map and swiftly made a judgment based on the information provided.
"Lilligant's dance includes both evasion and strengthening functions; after continuous dance, it is followed by extremely powerful kicks."
"Thus, we need to disrupt not just a single move but the entire rhythm from when she starts dancing to executing kicks. As long as she can't complete her dance steps smoothly, the potency of that attack will be impaired."
Adaman and Arezu exchanged glances.
They previously only knew that Lilligant grew stronger post-dance without connecting her evasion, strengthening, and final kicks holistically as Cynthia did.
Just from listening to existing information, Cynthia started identifying weaknesses in the Queen's battle style.
That battle intelligence seems on a different plane than ours!
"Sister's explanation simplifies matters. Leave tomorrow's battle to us."
With an expression of sudden realization, Ash clapped his hands.
Honestly, with Adaman and Arezu talking so much earlier, he understood very little. Cynthia sure explains things accessibly!
