Chapter 1018 - 529: Warden Arezu, Can the Power of Viridian Heal Humans Too? (2)
"Miss Arezu, don’t move yet. Let me help heal your foot injury."
Ash looked at Arezu’s swollen ankle and raised his right hand over the injured area.
"You can heal humans too?"
Arezu was slightly taken aback and instinctively looked at Ash’s empty palm. "But you don’t have any medicine on you."
"I’m not using medicine."
Ash gently shook his head, and a soft green light began to spread from his palm. "This is the Power of Viridian, which can help humans and Pokemon recover from injuries."
The green light quickly enveloped Arezu’s injured ankle.
A warm sensation spread from the injury to the surrounding area, and the sharp pain that had been constantly present began to diminish at an astonishing speed.
"This is..."
Arezu instinctively widened her eyes.
She could clearly feel the pain inside her ankle fading away, and even the swollen area from the sprain was gradually returning to normal under the green light.
The Diamond Clan certainly had medicines for treating sprains.
But even with the best herbs, it would still require bandaging and resting for a few days to recover to the point of normal walking.
Ash simply placed his hand over her ankle, and the injury began healing at a visible pace.
This was completely beyond Arezu’s understanding of healing methods.
While Arezu was stunned by the Power of Viridian, the battle on the other side was also nearing its end.
"Samurott, Double Razor Shell!"
"Dai!"
Samurott drew two water blades from its sides, swiftly moving between several Croagunk.
Two water-blue blade flashes flickered in succession.
The Croagunk that had just gotten back up didn’t even have time to launch an attack before being swept away by the flowing water, collapsing again on the grass.
Together with Ursaluna’s previous Mud Shot, all five Croagunk had lost the ability to continue fighting.
Arezu looked at Ash, who was healing her, and then at Samurott standing quietly beside Cynthia, her eyes filled with even more shock.
She had only heard that this pair of siblings from overseas were incredibly powerful.
Now that she saw it with her own eyes, she realized what tremendous power truly meant.
Cynthia had Samurott use just one move to defeat the five Croagunk that were surrounding her.
Ash didn’t even participate in the battle...
The pair of siblings never considered the Croagunk a real threat from the start.
On the other side, after confirming the Croagunk couldn’t attack anymore, Cynthia didn’t immediately return to Ash and Arezu’s side.
She took a healing spray from her bag and applied it to the areas where the five Croagunk had been attacked.
In the wild, the law of the jungle always applied.
If a Pokemon that has lost its ability to fight remains in place for too long, it might be attacked by other wild Pokemon.
Those Croagunk indeed tried to attack Arezu earlier, but strictly speaking, Arezu was the one who intruded into their territory to collect herbs.
Cynthia couldn’t stand by and watch the Croagunk succumb to the injuries they suffered because of her.
After applying the healing spray to the last Croagunk, Cynthia returned to Ursaluna’s side.
Meanwhile, the green light in Ash’s palm gradually faded away.
"All done."
Ash withdrew his right hand and looked up at Arezu. "You can try moving it gently to see if it still hurts."
Arezu lowered her head and carefully rotated her ankle.
The intense pain that would appear even with slight movement had completely vanished.
She tentatively wiggled her toes, then supported herself on Ursaluna’s body, slowly lowered her injured foot to the ground.
The sole of her foot touched down without issue.
Her ankle didn’t send any pain signals; there was no sensation of not being able to exert force.
Arezu tried standing up and took two steps forward, her expression shifting from initial skepticism to disbelief.
"It’s really healed?"
Arezu looked down at her ankle, now restored to normal, her voice filled with apparent astonishment. "Just a moment ago, I couldn’t even move my foot, and now I can walk normally?"
She looked again at Ash’s right hand.
"Is this Power of Viridian really so magical?"
"As long as the injury isn’t too severe, the Power of Viridian can usually have a healing effect."
Ash explained with a smile. "It doesn’t matter if it’s a human or a Pokemon, there’s not much difference."
Arezu opened her mouth, momentarily unsure of what to say.
Being able to heal a severe sprain in such a short time, and being able to heal both humans and Pokemon simultaneously...
If this power appeared in the Diamond Clan, countless injured members in the wild could be saved.
It was only now that she truly realized that the young man in front of her possessed far more than just powerful combat abilities.
No wonder Kleavor recovered under their help.
No wonder Grandma Calaba, who was always cautious, trusted by letting Ursaluna stay by their side.
Cynthia approached Arezu and checked her ankle again.
The swelling was completely gone, and there was no issue with the ankle’s movement.
"The injury has indeed healed."
Cynthia withdrew her gaze and reminded, "However, you were chased by Croagunk for quite some time earlier, so your physical strength must be depleted. On the way back, don’t push yourself to walk too much."
After speaking, Cynthia took out the Celestica Flute and played the melody to summon Wyrdeer.
The clear flute sound echoed into the distance.
It wasn’t long before Wyrdeer quickly approached from the woods.
Although Arezu’s ankle had healed, her body was still quite exhausted from the long chase. So on the way back to the Wetland Base, everyone let her ride on Ursaluna.
Cynthia and Arezu sat together on Ursaluna’s broad back, while Ash rode Wyrdeer alone, responsible for monitoring the road ahead and keeping an eye on the surrounding Pokemon.
Perhaps because Arezu was also a warden, Ursaluna didn’t show any aversion towards her.
It maintained a steady pace, following closely behind Wyrdeer.
On the way back to the Wetland Base, Cynthia finally asked Arezu what had brought her to this area alone.
Arezu glanced at the woven basket full of herbs and bottles in her arms, then thought of the Power of Viridian she had personally experienced earlier, her expression growing a bit complex.
"I was searching for herbs to help calm the Queen."
This was basically in line with Adaman’s previous speculation.
Kleavor and Lilligant were completely different Pokemon, so Arezu naturally thought the drugs used to calm the two Kings would also be different.
Lilligant has the Grass Attribute.
According to the information she had gathered, Arezu planned to use the Calming Herb that grows in the Crimson Mirelands, mixed with a small amount of sedative poison, to create a medicine specifically for calming Lilligant.
This was why she had ventured into the Croagunk’s territory.
The Croagunk hadn’t attacked Arezu for no reason.
In fact, Arezu had entered the Croagunk’s domain to collect the necessary toxin.
She had originally prepared a spray to ward off wild Pokemon, but the process of gathering herbs was more cumbersome than expected, and the spray ran out early, which led to her being chased by the Croagunk.
"So have you completed gathering the herbs you need?"
Facing Cynthia’s inquiry, Arezu nodded immediately, her expression once again turning excited.
"I’ve gathered all the necessary materials; as long as you can first defeat Lilligant, I can use these medicines to calm the Queen!"
Although Arezu still bore the pain in her ankle, the thought of restoring Lilligant’s normal state obviously lifted her spirits significantly.
Lilligant was the Queen she was responsible for looking after.
Now that the Queen had lost her reason and members of the Diamond Clan stationed in the battle stage were harmed, Arezu naturally placed all the responsibility on herself.
She felt it was her failure to properly take care of the Queen and also her failure to detect the signs of unrest in time.
This is why, after learning that Kleavor had been calmed by a special drug, she took the risk to return to the Crimson Mirelands alone to search for herbs.
However, Ash and Cynthia knew that what had truly removed Kleavor’s abnormal power wasn’t any drug.
The things Arezu had prepared might be able to temporarily calm Lilligant or treat injuries sustained during battle, but the prospect of fully removing the strange power through medicine was virtually impossible.
However, since Arezu had gone to such great lengths to gather materials for the Queen, they refrained from immediately dismissing her efforts.
At the very least, they would assess Lilligant’s precise condition upon seeing her, and then determine what role these medicines might play.
